We bought a spray bottle for olive oil, it's worked well!
Hi all. Great video. Immigration is an issue, not only in the EU. I am all for immigration, although I think that it should be controlled. It makes sense to cut your cloth according to your means. I am an immigrant myself, I came to Germany 36 years ago unter the rules and regulations back then. Now there is legal and illegal immigration. This has been going on for donkey years. Now it is in the headlines, our governments are worried, and so much so, they have changed the wording. It has become more friendly, and is now known as irregular immigration. If I am driving a car without a license, is it considered irregular?
They should be in UK. Much worse than Spain xx
Hey Stu, after living more than half my life in Spain and hitting 60. Imho we're all immigrants unless you are Spanish and I've lived in Spain for more than 30yrs. No complaints from me, viva la vida in Andalucia. I'm looking forward to taking my right of Spanish nationality and passport in 2025, 'not golden visa' lol, the traditional route, best regards Marco 😉👊🇬🇧🇪🇦🥳🕺
Marco, what kind of visa are you going back to Spain with? I was born there as well and want to move there next year to escape this mess in the US.
Unfortunately, people don’t make the association between mass-immigration and the problems they have to deal with. Also, the words “immigration” and “mass & illegal immigartion” are purposely conflated. Nobody is against normal immigration, but everybody should be against illegal and mass-immigration. The former is usually positive and add to the wealth of the country while the latter is a net cost and a tax on facilities, housing etc.
Sadly rarely people talk about the mass emigration, of well educated Spaniards leaving the country!
@@stevenhombrados1530 Look no further then your government for that. Hint, being socialists they are not going to change the outcome. Just look at where the "well educated Spaniards" are going. I'll bet not many are socialist .
@@edl7454 I agree.
There's a bar that's in front of the Parque de Alameda in Santiago de Compostela that makes some excellent runny egg tortillas Españolas.
Those truck stop diners are fairly popular in Galicia.
I thought the Tita was the best in Santiago de Compostela....
Regarding Bread, funny how once you cross the French border entering Spain, the extreme difference in bread quality. France, simple, fluffy and easy to eat, whereas, Spain tends to be Doughy and a bit sticky. A bit odd when you think, at low tide, the distance between Countries is less than a meter wide.
Doubt that ? I found Mercadona and Consume and Lidel had same type of breads on both sides of the border
I have never had an issue with bread from either country. I happen to love Spanish bread.
Hi Stu. Would the book that you were referring to be that written by Michael Reid and entitled "Spain, The trials and triumphs of a modern European country"? I haven't read it, but it seems to be receiving very good reviews. I read Giles Tremblett's "Ghosts of Spain" about 10 years ago and it's also excellent.
Thank you, I have a look
In Canada the Bimbo style which most Canadians call it French sliced bread . Usually carry about 5grams of sugar, per 2 slices (71g) and for bag of slice bread, (550g) goes for 4.99$.
I also enjoyed the look of the breakfast the other day. The tomato, oil and ham looked delicious and the bread sounded so crispy? 😊
Calatrava's work is in Portugal, too. The "Trees" train station is an example.
The only 2 times that I’ve been robbed at Knifepoint, in Spain was by a Moroccan and 2 Gypsies……On separate occasions of course
I have never had a vehicle broken into in the US but happened to me once in Spain.
I was purchasing one can at a carefore express. Not a supermarket. It happened in several different shops here in Valencia
Spain gov is wrong to criticise Israel. Sephardic jews & others have suffered enough from Spanish leaders over the centuries & had to flee to Morroco and Gibraltar and uk and the USA & former Palestine to escape the persecution. Ironic Spain temoved the arabs from spain in the 1400s .
Are you trying to say that mass immigration from countries that have a totally different mind set and no skills are beneficial for the Spanish people and that certain politicians have got it wrong?Do me a favour.
I can't remember if I asked this question on your channel or not.. I'm not 100% sure of what my tax status will be if I'm lucky enough to get an NLV, But are there any charities or programs where immigrants can donate to help with local programs or projects going on in the communities that we live in? I don't want togo to Spain to use the things the County has.. I want to enjoy them and preserve the history and culture. In short I don't want to be seen as a tourist. I want to spend every Dollar/Euro in Spain/Europe. Please People of Spain 🇪🇸 Know I want to be a solution not a problem 🙏🙌
In the US, we can self-report (or not) cash received as tips on our annual tax forms. IMO, if the customer-earned-money that taxes were previously paid on, when they tip for a service, the service worker has to pay taxes again on that same money. Ridiculous. My Mom was a waitress when I was small, and was paid minimum wage and heavily dependent on tips; maybe I'm overly sensitive...
What sort of jacket would be good in Cambrils and Seville this October and November? I was thinking that a thin waterproof windbreaker would be good enough. Or maybe a soft shell jacket? I have only a personal item backpack for luggage.
It gets real cold at night at times.
@@edl7454 Thanks
Wind breakers are canvas and used as a barrier on the beach , to shelter from the wind , why would you try to wear a windbreaker?
G’day Stuart, been following your channel long time. It’s sad current affairs have become dominated by conflict and migration issues. Couldn’t care less about either, and most news is now very biased or fake/ unverified. Enjoy your cultural jaunts around Spain, you are fortunate to have such wonderful place available for exploration and adventures. Grateful for your output NN1
Olive oil like fossil fuel for your car, always goes up, but rarely goes down. Anyways I’ve cut back on buying olive oil, it’s become a luxury item now for me. Using peanut oil for frying now. And again Spain has become a country of extreme ridicule. Thx all to Sanchez. 😂
My health is more important than that . Peanut oil is nowhere as healthy as Olive Oil .
@@edl7454 for sure! But at 22$ a litre when 2 years ago that same oil would be at 7.99$! The olive oil is of no high end brand, but from Spain Olios. Here in Montreal Spanish oil has become almost non existen, lots of Italian mixed with sunflower or soya, oils from Tunisia, or Greece. But again mixed with other types of oil! All too expensive now. Now I just use olive oil for salad dressing.
Nut oil in consume is ok
@@stevenhombrados1530 Costco here sells extra virgin Olive oil I believe it is Italian origin and it is expensive as well.
@@edl7454 your here is where? I know my Cosco does sell a great Kirkland oil from Spain. My sister sometimes gets it for me, since I’m not a cosco member. Costco is great when you have fridge space, and a big family. But when you only 2, it does become expensive.
