    I love Shatner. The best Captain of all Star Treks. Thanks for this.

    Don't look at the video and just listen to his voice. He could still do voice acting for say a Star Trek cartoon and you'd believe Kirk is in his 40's. Incredible.

    Thanks for this, thrilling. Bill's energy always blows me away. He looks about 50 here.

    I saw the first Star Trek as a small child, it totally captivated me, both series and movies. William Shatner just summed up what Star Trek was and still is, all about, 'humanity' and the human connection, which is what has endeared audiences to it, throughout 50 years. I attended this special 50th anniversary of Star Trek at the NEC in Birmingham. I was so beyond excited to be there and I had my photo taken with 'Captain Kirk' on the set they re-created there ' the original bridge of the original Enterprise' it doesn't get better than that. I know it's fictional but for me it will always be real. 🖖😊

    I know everybody says Patrick Stewart looks great for his age but I gotta say Shatner looks like he hasn't aged since Star Trek Generations. The dude is 85 here and looks better and especially sounds great.

    Heather thank you for filming this. I have been watching the Original Series since it first aired 50 years ago. William Shatner is one of my favorites. I truly cannot believe 50 years have gone by. I don't travel much anymore and to see something this feels as if I am there with everyone watching a true TV icon. He looks good. I hope he remains in the spotlight for many many more years. Thank you!!

    This guy is 85, like Star Trek we will eventually live to early 100's on average with 125 and so being like 90 is today. I think in the distant future alot longer than that.

    the word remiss originated 1375-1425 in late Middle English. It comes from Latin remissus (past participle of remittere to send back, slacken, relax).

    I was with a friend of mine and we got stuck in an elevator with William Shatner at a swanky hotel in NY. It was weird because it was, well, Willam Shatner and we knew all the horror stories from people who have met him. My friend was a huge Star Trek geek and I could see him shaking in his boots. All the while we were quiet and this horrible smell would suddenly start to linger in the elevator. William kept staring at us with this weird look on his face. I waved my hands as soon as Shatner turned around to look at his cellphone to get my friends attention. He looked at me with that "What's the smell" look? Shatner put his phone back in his pocket and bent over. He let out the nastiest and loudest fart. We both started to laugh and figured it was Shatner breaking the ice even though he stunk up the elevator with his face. I chuckled out a "P.U." and Shatner looked at me like he was going to smash my head against the wall. "What the fuck is so funny?" he asked. As soon as I was about to open my mouth the doors to the elevator opened, Shatner began to walk out, he turned around and said "Enjoy the stink you stupid fuckers!"

    William doesn't look too bad for an 85 year old man. It may surprise you to know that he's 85, but I think when you consider how long he's been in show business, it isn't that surprising.

    In the past the populations of many great civilizations have been noted to seemingly dissapear. The new earth is waiting for all those who are ready to "ascend." If you don't get to go this time, maybe you'll get to go next time. All the worrys and fears of this world must be overcome and then set aside to move on to the next. That of course would be the one of the rules.

    SHATNER IS MAKING A VERY VERY GOOD POINT
    IF YOU CANT TEST IT
    IT AINT SCIENCE

    • @davidd3573
      @davidd3573 8 років тому +1

      ACTUALLY A MORE CORRECT WAY OF LOOKING AT THAT WOULD BE IF YOU CANT TEST IT THERE MIGHT BE A REASON LIKE OUR SCIENCE ISNT ADVANCED ENOUGH TO TEST IT. EVERYONE FALLS FOR EVOLUTION BUT OBSERVATION IS THE FIRST LAW IN SCI METHOD. NO ONE HAS EVER OBSERVED 98 PERCENT OF WHAT EVOLUTION DICTATES. SO IS EVOLUTION SCIENCE OR NOT>?

      Ive never been to Australia therefor it doesnt exist? idiots. think about what your saying.There is such a thing as scientific EVIDENCE. Evidence from dna from the fossil records from observation from geographic distribution. from scientific testing and all this evidence is put together into a theory by people who have spent there lives studying the field of evolutionary biology they theory has been tested thousands of times and has never been proven wrong.
      Jesus try learning something.

    William Shatner well said maybe one day he to will make it out of... The Cage though one must remember the trial never truly ends so maybe "all good things" don't really come to an end pardon the STNG first/last episode paradox-conundrum.

    Dimensions must be thought of in the context of reality all realities being AI construct-programs/hardware. The 5th dimension relates to the 5 pointed star the "reality" which Samael is the Administrator of which is describing program function(like a designation) just like his name. You see this relation as well in say the Menorah which is 1 in the middle & 3 & 3 surrounding it or the one with 1 in the middle & 4 & 4 surrounding it. Names are so descriptive far to descriptive especially throughout history when taking it in totality along with dates which display an unnatural pattern that far to few can see or have the proper data/context=a wide enough band of knowledge to acknowledge which would really be helpful in getting people to actually act humanely & plan further ahead, beyond.

    • @francoismorin8721
      @francoismorin8721 8 років тому +2

      I think William Shatner meant he did not get that space-time are intertwinedLOL ... Hard to grasp indeed! But he does have a point, much of today's theory in science (Quantum Physics, Astrophysics etc.) still have to be proven. Yet they point the way toward something! For example the 5th dimension is a mathematical prediction in regards of what we know of the present understanding of laws of physics. It may or may ot exist, but it seem to be a necessity. But indeed people should not forget that until a theory is proven, it is mythology or call it science-fiction like he did.

    2016 50th Anniversary Birmingham UK. Where was the man who,s vision this was all about Gene Rodenberry at this event ? Not anything in the official program either.
    Lot of money being made at these events and poor old Gene forgotten ! Even the latest movies good as the stars are - the feel of that vision is being lost.

    When old man Shatner sort of provoke some of the famous scientist he is not being that cocky and irritating after all, he his pointing problems we do have in science in a comical way, I think, watch this conference title "Brian Greene Hosts: Reality Since Einstein"of famous scientist at 42:05 minutes "Nobody understands what a black hole is." See link ua-cam.com/video/3EOpHHjv5g8/v-deo.html But I still believe that our scientist do good job elaborating theories LOL Did science-fiction be get science or science be get science-fiction? To quote William Shatner. SO THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS THAT WE SHOULD BUILD A SPACESHIP LIKE TH ENTERPRISE TO GO SEE WHAT IS IN OUTERSPACE :o) for real!

    This was terribly boring. His explanation of what he missed Leonard Nimoy's funeral was reprehensible-a fund raiser at teh behest of Donald Trump (for the Red Cross). I turned off the video at 18:07 minutes.

      He made a commitment to be there. He could have backed out, and several million dollars would NOT have been raised for sick children. The people who put on the affair were solely dependent on him being there in order to raise the money. He did the right thing, even though he can be criticized by small minded people

    Shatner is the one Trek actor I personally dont like. He just comes across as too full of himself. Of course the others are self confident too, but he sees himself as the center of the universe. Meh.

    • @1978rharris
      @1978rharris 8 років тому +18

      I would agree with you if it was someone who didn't warrant such attention, but in my view Shatner can be as full of himself as he wants to be. The guy's in his mid to late 80's, has the energy of someone half that age, is intelligent, kind and genuinely warm. And let's not forget the guy is the one true Kirk. He may have been a bit of a dick many years ago, but I think he's mellowed, for some humility and has learned to connect with his fans and embrace the warmth we would all heap upon him. So, if he's full of himself I say good for him! If only we could all be so lucky at his age.
