There was an issue on identifying the drone. It’s been reported on already. If I understood correctly there was a friendly drone and an enemy incoming drone at the same time on radar? They failed to identify the enemy incoming drone properly and thus didn’t shoot it down.
So yes that part might be left out of some news segments. But the information is out there if you want to read more for yourself

However, if as is likely this facility was inside the Syrian border it means US troops illegally occupying Syrian territory were hit. In other words, a foreign occupying force was attacked by people defending their homeland.
