    Thank you again. For a sentimental moment, you have created legacy for those that follow. There are less than a dozen who have a wide scope and have stuck it out past a dozen videos, and you are one of them. Thank you.

    He's a witch!!! Thank you. You just saved my recording partner $1000 on an external board for fader rides and automation. I told him we could do it in the box. Now I have to translate all this PT knowledge to Reaper for another project.
    PS - got the rough mixes from the band we are mixing and there were 17,023 automation points from the band member using the mix window fader to adjust volume!

    Thank you so much Warren. With my class included, you were the only person who explained basic automation in the way I needed and now I can feel more confident in using it. You are an awesome teacher! Same as with your weekly feeds. Please don't change! Rock On! ~D

    YES!!! NEW VIDEO!!!
    Absolutely loving this channel, you've single handedly given me the confidence that all this is entirely a possible thing to learn. Before It just seemed far too daunting, something for other people who studied it in college. Very excited to start building a studio, these videos will become like the gospel for referring back to. Thank you so much for putting your time into this channel, it's so well made!

    Dude! Thank you! Working on the automation with the line "Prayers" I've always wondered how you can take a vocal track and add extra reverb or delay on a certain section/moment. Previously I thought you had to duplicate that section and just make it work. To me this is the in depth Pro Tools mixing I want/like! I've watched many hours of you on UA-cam. This is definitely an "ah ha!" moment. Can't wait to try this out! Everyone shows the basics, but it's the more intricate things like this that I love to see! Basics are easy (in there own right), but loved that tip. My mind is exploding with ideas now.. :-) :-) Thanks :-)

    I had to plug into my live console to record today because I needed the 20db pads. It saved me a ton of time miking the guitar amp, because I could play with the basic eq it had, and will hopefully save me time in the mix. And the older, analog sound was perfect for what I wanted.

    Great video as always! I wish you would have touched on some of the other "shapes" you can draw (sine, random,...) with the pencil tool, which might speed things up for many people, but I understand this is a video on basic automation and it's hard to go in depth without confusing some. Please keep those videos coming, I've come to anticipate them even more than Pensado's Place! All the best!

    As usual, a thorough and helpful video. Thanks for thinking of these video's from a perspective a 'hobbyist' can relate to and apply. Quick question. I'm going on a holiday and won't have a guitar or internet. Books! Can you recommend a few books you would consider important to read, whether they be biographies or manuals on recording, mixing, or the music industry in general. Thanks for your time and effort.

      Hi DistortionBlues 44 Thanks very much for your great comment I really appreciate it! That's a great question, I have seen a few people answer that with many different books. Fabulous series! as usual! You're the man Warren! I DO like your channel and now I've been watching it from the first vid! Very educational!
    I've got some question:
    I've subscribed to your email list on your site and youtube channel about a month ago, but where can I find all great "extra" stuff ("secret" vimeo account with extended versions of drum/piano recording videos, files for drum editing, drum samples, etc)?
    All I receive via mail from "producelikeapro" are notifications about new video, on the site itself there are just subscription form, social media, and list of videos.. Please can you help me with that?
    Many Thanks,
    Phil.

    Warren...first of all...thanks for all this...there is so much...I've been doing this for years as well...but am constantly looking for new/different ways of doing things...!...I run PT 11.3.1...I call this the "off the shelf" version as it isn't HD...(I'm looking for an HD license because of all the cool things it does over the off the shelf version)...!
    My question is "what are all the other lines displayed in each track aside from the black one your working with...(gold...blue)...?
    Thanks...David

  • @GvoltaMusic
    @GvoltaMusic 9 років тому +1

    Hi Warren, I'm kinda getting started in producing again. I'm starting using pre recorded sounds and instruments, nothing live yet. Besides Pro Tools, what other DAWs would you recommend? Is any of the following good and which is best, or do you know of a better one than these? (Garageband, Logic, Reason, Fruit Loops)

    • @Producelikeapro
      @Producelikeapro  9 років тому

      Hi John Gabriel Figueroa I use Logic for Keys and Programming, it's great, the sounds come up ready to use! I use Garageband for quick easy demos on my lap top, really easy to use as well and I use Pro Tools for recording Vocals, Guitars, Drums etc, editing Audio and Mixing. I haven't used Reason for few years, a lot of the guys I work with love Ableton for building tracks and there are a lot of users who love Studio One, which I hear is amazing value for money! I hope that helps! Have a marvellous time recording, many thanks Warren

      Honestly I respect you as a producer, always very professional but mostly patient with the many people that must write to you every day. I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to reply to me, a person you've never met before, as if we were neighbors. The info you gave me is more than satisfying you always going the extra step to help us out as best as possible. I always say that good help is hard to find, but thanks to your videos I feel like I have my own private school at home. Thank you Warren for your help...and I will keep looking forward to everything you post. Happy recording to you sir! 🎶

    • @Producelikeapro
      @Producelikeapro  3 роки тому +2

      Typically I record everything fresh. However for demos and Jingles etc I will cheat! I use positive grid if it’s cut to the grid or relative if it’s not super tight and breaths
