I love these videos from your channel! You are very thorough, especially with materials that needed to be used. Your instructions are amazing and clear! 💖👏
i made my own liners - i followed one of your tutorials to do them (couple of years ago now!) - my main mats are just made from fleece with zorb though but they still need paper underneath corners of cage and pee pads on top, it's like a never ending quest to have the perfect functioning accessories!
My boyfriend is gifting me a sewing machine for Christmas! Just to make the liners for our piggies! I have never used one! But I am excited to try and learn!
I'm currently making fleece liners and peepads for my piggies. After watching another of your tutorials on YT, I had the confidence to buy a sewing machine and materials and give this a go. My first liner and pads weren't bad but the next set was much better. I'm working on my third set now and I think I'm enjoying it. You are an inspiration!
Well thats very handy, I bought all the stuff to make a liner on Friday and was going to scale up your pee pad tutorial! I'm a bit worried I've bought the wrong kind of fleece but I'll have a go and see how it works!
Love your tutorial I made some liners from one of your previous ones it works great however I did do one back to front the waterproof bit the wrong way round but it still works😂
I love you’re videos so much I just got two female calico guinea pigs a couple weeks ago there about the same size as a 6month old but since I got them from pet smart I don’t really know there age it said baby on the cage so smh but you’re videos help me a lot as I’m having issues bonding there just so scared of me
I finally made the switch to fleece bedding for my guinea pigs this past summer. I am so glad that I did! I made most of the liners and pads myself. A few of the larger liners I got from GuineaDad online. They are pricey, but so worth it. I use blizzard fleece and cotton batting for mine. I think the mattress protectors would probably be better and cheaper. A note about wicking your fleece...use a Free and Clear detergent, white vinegar (I use a full cup for the initial wash), and a tablespoon of Dawn (blue) dish detergent. Heavy Duty and Warm settings on the washing machine. Then warm to low heat on the dryer. I found this amazing brush for cleaning off poos and hair from the pads/liners. I got it on Amazon. It's called Pet Hair Cleaner. Other small whisk brooms work good too. But the brushes I got make the job quick and easy. Above all, stick to your budget!!! I add on to my supplies when I can afford to upgrade only! Hope this helps 🥰
Really good video thanks Sarah! I might just make a few small liners cause I don't have a sewing machine YET ( I have a stapler kind of one but it doesn't work very well)
I just used your older tutorial to make my first liner! It helps to see another tutorial, thanks! So cool to make something useful for my guinea pigs and learn a new skill (my first try with a sewing machine :))
Ohhh it’s lovely. One problem, it shrinks in double because of the waterproof layer… unless you wash it in cold water, but cold water doesn’t clean pads that good…
I used your older toroidal to make my liners and a couple years later they’re still holding up! The only thing I did different was to do some quilting to keep the layers together ❤
@@thesqueakkeep no I do not, I quilt the fleece to the absorbent material (Uhaul or batting) leaving myself an allowance for the quilting to distort/shrink the absorbent, trim the top, and then either sew the top to the waterproof backing good side to good side as shown by Sarah or use a border made from imperfect sheets that I like to buy and shred into continuous bias tape. For regular fleece pads or liners (fleece front and back) I quilt through all layers leaving 1” or so from the edge for trimming as needed. then turn the fleece edges into the sandwich, baste, then put a blanket stitch or do a border then a top stitch to edge the quilting.
Hi Sarah love how you make them but am hopeless at sewing and with a sewing machine I stick with eco nest my cage is is the same size as a 4 by 2 c and c cage my 2 boys are happy they get floor time just about everyday for 1 hour or more depending on my shifts at work
I tried making these from squeakdreams video a few years ago. I made similar without the waterproof lining. I washed the waterproof lining before cutting to size but it smelt so much like wet nappies and was still sopping wet after two spin cycles I immediately threw it in the bin.
Hello Sarah, My name is Randy. From the United States. I'm a new owner of two young female Guinea Pigs. (Luana & Kiona) I have been watching a lot of your videos to learn as much as I can, so I can be the best caretaker for them as possible. I have been hearing you mention fleece liners for the cages a lot in your videos. So my question is, What kind of fleece? Like how do I pick out the best waterproof, easy cleaning, and most comfortable fleece liners? Please help? Maybe send me some links from amazon for good fleece liners? Please Please. ( Btw i absolutely love your videos and your beautiful Guinea piggy's.
I use UhAul material instead two layers of UhAul inside two layers of fleece on the outside and I use two different patterns for each so one side is one pattern and the other side is a different pattern
I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS AND REALY WANT SOME GUNEA PIGS BUT I CANT CONVINCE MY DAD PLS MAKE A VIDEO OF HOW TO PESWAVE I ALSO AM SUB AND NOTFCATIONS ON 🐹🐹❤❤
Can somewone pls tell ne what to do for my guinea pig to NOT get cancer if its 2-3 years old I need people who know how to do it ❤❤❤ that will help me thanks
I use pads in the hotspots, which can get wet in a few days but they are much easier to swap out than the liners. Some more absorbent alternatives are layers of Terry towelling or bamboo towelling, or something like Zorb which is highly absorbent 😊
I've been using the same liners for a few years now and they still look great!
Thank you for thaught me how to do it 😊❤
I've made my cage liners and pee pads thanks to your previous tutorial videos.

Yes, cheaper fleece and microfibres require quilting
Do you quilt through the waterproof layer as well?

so are u doing it biger the cage
The new cage is much bigger yes 😊
@@SqueakDreams ooo cant wait to see it
Little tip for you, if you put the pins in length ways and not width ways your sewing machine will just sew over the top.
Thank you! Great tip I will try that!
I have broken my sewing machine needles by putting them length ways. I don't recommend. Clips are also handy.
Can somewone pls tell ne what to do for my guinea pig to NOT get cancer if its 2-3 years old

I make all my fleece liners like this but find that they still get wet within a few days...
I really need a much better absorbant middle layer...

0:27....🌾🌾🐹🌱🌿wheres the cage? 😅
Soon! Very soon 😃😂
SHOULD I GET A GUINNE PIG OR NOT ARE THEY WORTH IT
I ❤ mine, they are amazing, just a lot of time, if you want to do it right
They require a lot of care, so if you're willing to put in the work, any pet is worth it. Adoption is preferred.
