Frozen Champagne Grapes

  • A simple adult dessert to celebrate something or someone special, these Boozy Grapes can be served either frozen or chilled. Make ahead of time and keep in the freezer ready to impress that certain someone on a special day.
    FROZEN BOOZY GRAPES
    large seedless green grapes 1 pound
    1 cup sparkling white wine/ prosecco/ Champagne
    1/4 - 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
    Wash and dry grapes, then add to a large bowl.
    Pour sparkling white wine/ Prosecco/ Champagne on top of the grapes and refrigerate overnight (or at least 12 hours).
    Strain and lightly blot grapes with a paper towel leaving them slightly damp.
    Pour sugar onto a plate.
    Place the marinated grapes in the sugar and roll them around to coat with the sugar. There is more sugar here than you need. The remaining sugar is still useable for cooking or drinks.
    Remove grapes from the sugar and place in the freezer until frozen ( 2+ hours)
    Grapes will thaw quickly after being removed from the freezer, so eat soon after serving to enjoy frozen, but they are still quite delicious if eaten thawed.
    Keep uneaten grapes in an airtight container or zip lock bag in the freezer for up to 1 month.
