Tekken, Final Fantasy 8, Metal Gear 2. I was born in 1990, and tekken 1 was my first PSX game, FF8 my first RPG, and I loved so much Metal Gear solid games, that it gave me the passion for real geopolitics... I don't play video games anymore, but these 3 series have been so important in my early life, that it’s a pleasure to see each of your videos and admiring how you are able to rewrite some of the story to make it even better. FFVIII is probably the most underrated game in the series. And even though I played this game more than once, I never knew all this lore. Also, great idea to end it with the game intro! One of my favorite opening cutscenes of all time.
This was an unexpected suprise, Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite rpg of all time! I have so many memories wrapped up with this game. I can't wait to see what you do with this story!
If anyone who can make FF8 more interesting is LoreSmith. It was my 2nd favorite game of the series and I’m glad you’re doing an anime series of it. I must admit I totally forgot about the Great Hyne backstory. Thank you for expanding on their in world lore. I guess you could also say when the Great Hyne left a piece of his body, his hollow self- he did accomplish what he was set out to do… to get the humans to destroy one another over power that never was.
I never played Final Fantasy 8, and I’m glad you’re bringing up the game’s story, via anime. I was a kid who never heard of the Final Fantasy series nor saw until I played Kingdom Hearts. Keep this up, and I’ll consider this as my experience with Final Fantasy 8.

This is really amazing man. This was the first Final Fantasy game I played on a Playstation 1 demo disk. My favorite FF game, and a core memory, I will be subscribing to this series. I really like the depiction of "The Great Hyne". He looks just like i imagined him to look.
Wow, you've breathed new life into FFVIII with a 17min vid. This gives a deep take on some things that weren't really expressed in the story. Feels like some of the plot, events, and a few of the characters were shoehorned, or not enough screentime to resonate. Hyne is a great example. The scarcity of details, yet such a rooted part of the grand plot. Great job, can't wait for more!
Yeah i'm not gonna lie, the game and story is very flawed, but it did have potential for sure. Like for example the origin of Hyne, the world and sorceresses is a bit of a silly story which I've embellished a bit here, I think this is much better lol. There are other aspects of the story which could have been dealt with differently as well. The world and lore wasn't really explored much, all the focus went to FF7 which I do like, but I also enjoyed 8 and 9!
Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite game out of the franchise. I do agree about the story being a bit flawed in hindsight. However, I don't have the same faith in Square Enix to do proper justice to FFVIII for a remake anymore. The Final Fantasy VII Remake is a mixed bag for me. Square Enix doesn't feel like the power house it used to be in times past. I would love to see an FFVIII Remake, but I'm skeptical. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

The FFVIII opening is, for me, still one of the most jaw-dropping experience in gaming I have experienced. Second or third best FF still to date despite all the flaws. Newer knew the history, so thank you! ☺️
Yeah you only discover the story of Hyne if you explore the front of white seed ship, which is not required to progress the game forward. I didn’t discover this story until maybe my 3rd play through.
Now that I think about it. I feel like seifer must see squall like a little brother. Ff8 opening cinematic is still my favorite in video games . It's just so incredible 😮
I know I’ll probably never have this wish granted, but I really wish they’d do a spin-off series of FF8 exploring Hyne’s origins, first sorceresses, and the Sorceress Wars.
An FF8 anime series? I'd say why not. This is among my favorite, though not the topmost, FF series and I certainly have played FF8 in past. It was a memorable journey. I like to see more of this. Hopefully you can continue or more of the Metal Gear series and other old video game series.
@@TheLoresmith I admit my most favorite is FF9. For (the old) FF7, I know it's a classic and part of my childhood, but I admit I couldn't have finished it before. Others, ones I've gotten to recently are FFs 4, 5 and 6. Those are the only FFs I like. Of course there are other JRPGs that I like. One of these includes the Lunar series and the Tales series. Think you can do Lunar too if you can? I've always longed for a Lunar animated series.
Excited to see how you'll explore the story of a game that has a much more complex plot compared to Tekken or the MSX Metal Gears. Hope this series does as well as your other ones.

my introduce to Final Fantasy was Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children. So i'm still learning each stories of Final Fantasy game which i know are in their own universes and not connected to one another at all. So i am willing to learn the story of Final Fantasy 8, either through this video or watch a gameplay of this game

That’s a complicated one, because there are multiple theories on who exactly she is, there are some fans that say she is a future version of rinoa. I do like this theory but I’m not sure if I should take it down that route, maybe leave it ambiguous and open to interpretation. 🤔

I thought it would be cool to leave room for a potential return in the future too, Hyne would be an awesome main antagonist.

Yeah, this gives hyne the opportunity to potentially return as an antagonist in the future. sorceresses can use magic given to them by hyne but hyne’s power is also in the planet, which is where draw points come from and how GFs come to exist, and how some humans are able to draw magic and junction. Humans can use magic but it’s limited because they have to draw from the planet as they don’t possess magic themselves, sorceresses can just use their own.
I was curious to see if there's any ff8 fans out there, that's cool! 👍 AI is used except for the scripts which I do myself. The music is from other creators, please check them out! and some of the music I also make myself.
Look up the great hyne, it’s the story of how the ff8 universe began. There is only very brief info on it, so I adjusted a few things and expanded a bit on the story here. 👍
I’ll explain GFs in a later video as Shiva, Ifrit and Quetzalcoatl come into the picture. It’s not explained what exactly they are in the game but to me what makes the most sense is that they’re physical manifestations of Hyne’s magic he left on the planet based on the element of the environment they originated from and characteristics from the culture and stories surrounding the area. If that makes sense. humans are able to uniquely interact with them by junctioning, if the gf lets them.
I know, I changed it slightly because the original is a bit silly, this adds a bit more depth to hune, humanity and the sorceresses, there’s no way humanity could have beaten hyne just by themselves and I added the addition of the moon and why hyne created humans, this slight addition adds to the tragedy of the whole story a bit more adds depth to the sorceress story like what happened to them etc etc. and doesn’t effect the grand scheme of the world and lore too much, imo anyway

I love ff8 my only issue was the battle cutscenes I rage quit trying to unlock behamut gf I didn't have time to cure my team and got took out and I was 3 steps away omg but if it wasn't for them long cutscenes during battles ff8bwould be my top 5 game 3/6 is still ill af
I started playing FF8 for the first time a few months ago. Im probably 1/4 through it. I dont get it at all. It seems very bland. I hope this makes things more interesting.

Yeah, the most pre-lore you'll find is if you go to Squall's desk, and there's info bits. Everything else is pretty much show, don't tell.

FF8 in retrospect has not lived up to it's fullest potential, I do hope a proper remake can fully explore it's potential and fix it's many flaws.

I think this game was ine of the best that came out for the PS1 that demonstrated what the system was capable of.
i expect the Metal Gear Zenzibar story line but this interesting can't wait for part 2

I just platinum last month and then got this for my recommended. More ff8 for me dive.
It's funny how all these characters in games always seem to resemble The Most High God, Who can't be mimicked.

Interesting this is my favorite FF and I’m glad I caught this, so you use AI for all of this?

Look up the great hyne, it’s the story of how the ff8 universe began. There is only very brief info on it, so I adjusted a few things and expanded a bit on the story here. 👍
So, pretty much Hyne is a demieurge.
How does it explain GFs? I loved the story i think there's gotta be some GF lore in there though. Great work on the vid!!!
I’ll explain GFs in a later video as Shiva, Ifrit and Quetzalcoatl come into the picture. It’s not explained what exactly they are in the game but to me what makes the most sense is that they’re physical manifestations of Hyne’s magic he left on the planet based on the element of the environment they originated from and characteristics from the culture and stories surrounding the area. If that makes sense. humans are able to uniquely interact with them by junctioning, if the gf lets them.

Pretty much canon yeah, I slightly embellished and expanded on the original hyne story to make improvements

I know, I changed it slightly because the original is a bit silly, this adds a bit more depth to hune, humanity and the sorceresses, there’s no way humanity could have beaten hyne just by themselves and I added the addition of the moon and why hyne created humans, this slight addition adds to the tragedy of the whole story a bit more adds depth to the sorceress story like what happened to them etc etc. and doesn’t effect the grand scheme of the world and lore too much, imo anyway
I mean what do you think, do you think this slight change is better or the original?

I love ff8 my only issue was the battle cutscenes I rage quit trying to unlock behamut gf I didn't have time to cure my team and got took out and I was 3 steps away omg but if it wasn't for them long cutscenes during battles ff8bwould be my top 5 game 3/6 is still ill af

I started playing FF8 for the first time a few months ago. Im probably 1/4 through it. I dont get it at all. It seems very bland. I hope this makes things more interesting.
Just like the bible ffviii lore don't make much sense to me.
