A jury condemned Timothy McVeigh to death on Friday for the Oklahoma City bombing in which 168 people died.
The jury deliberated for more than 11 hours over two days before deciding unanimously that the 29-year-old should die by injection for the worst act of terrorism in U-S history.
But it is not known when - or even if - the decorated Gulf War veteran will be executed, as appeals could take three years or more.
Timothy McVeigh's family walk into court to hear his fate.
His mother, father and sister were followed by prosecution attorney Joseph Hartzler.
Inside the court, the jury condemned McVeigh to death for the Oklahoma City bombing, which killed 168 people.
The jury decided unanimously that the 29-year-old decorated Gulf War veteran should die by injection for the worst act of terrorism in U-S history.
Outside the court, relatives of victims hugged each other.
After the sentence was announced, McVeigh's defence attorney - Stephen Jones - asked Americans to respect the jury's decision.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
"Our joint statement on behalf of all of us who have had the privilege of representing Mr. McVeigh reads as follows. The jury has spoken and their verdict is entitled to respect and all Americans should accord it that respect until such time, if ever, it is overturned by a court of competent jurisdiction. We ask that the barriers and intolerance which have divided us may crumble and that suspicions disappear and that hatreds cease and that our divisions and intolerance being healed, we may live together in justice and in peace. God save the United States of America. God save this honourable court."

Prosecution attorney Joseph Hartzler said he hoped the verdict would mean such a crime would never happen again.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
"This is not a day of great joy for the prosecution team. We're pleased that the system worked and that justice prevailed, but the verdict doesn't diminish the great sadness that occurred in Oklahoma City two years ago. Our only hope is that the verdict will go some way to preventing such terrible drastic crime from ever occurring again. Thank you."
SUPER CAPTION: Joseph Hartzler, Prosecution Attorney
The Oklahoma City attorney said the sentencing was not a time for joy.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
"I would say to the people of America that this is not really a time for exhilaration. Personally, I'm going to reflect on the loss of lives and broken dreams of the people of Oklahoma."

In Washington, U-S President Clinton thanked jurors for what he called their "grave decisions" in McVeigh's trial, but avoided comment on the decision to condemn him to death.

To this day the government will not allow Terry Nichols to tell them who the others were involved.
Of course
Terry my boy is still alive. Sadly the government holds his family hostage. He talks, they'll have to pay for it
Explain
@@keinschlaf288 I've been corresponding with Terry for years. (every letter) to prove it. He's petitioned the federal and state courts along with the FBI asking to be allowed to Tell who the others were. Denied immediately every time. Truth is they don't care who else was involved.
@@thepennsylvanian9280 thank you
2 WRONGS WILL NEVER MAKE A RIGHT !!!
'It could avail himself nothing that he might think himself right. That cannot excuse violence, bloodshed, and treason.' -Abraham Lincoln
Tell that to the feds at waco and randy weaver incidents who got off scott free
Lincoln attacked the states, that is treason.
@@strawmantee3085 Wrong. Lincoln did not attack the states. He made war on insurrectionists, terrorists, rebels and traitors. That is not treason.
@@sirkikesteinshekelberg9091 Irrelevant. You cannot rationalize or justify this bombing by citing whatever wrongs you believe occurred in separate incidents.
@@CallMeMrX he got punished for it didn't he? So what about the feds at waco?
Scouts for The Taliban wanted to sign Tim McVeigh on a 3 year contract
That depends..........PERIOD
.
And that's justification for doing this?
3:11 👏🏾 boi 9/11
Merrick Garland in the background at 1:30?
No.
That’s not Garland.
Whos professor Xavier ?
I’m wondering as well.
I wonder if Timothy McVeigh got a chance to meet Big Bubba while he was in prison before execution. 😆 Lol
Nope. He was on death row and earlier in segregated cell.
No, unfortunately prisoners like him are kept in isolation.
He was held at adx Florence I believe in the super max. 100% isolated from human contact in sound proof box.
Who the f*** is Big bubba lol
What people don't realize is that when they cheer for another humans death it's a sin.
Yes they are no better than him.
“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image."

he fought for ur freedom
So killing innocent people is "fighting for our freedoms"? Do us all a favor and don't ever breed.
TRIGGERED
Knightwolf1994 also anyone who says Timothy McVeigh was a Patsy should not breed.
If you think that Timothy McVeigh fought freedom, then do you think that the Oklahoma City bombing was funny?
He’s talking about how he was in the army
Hey hey hey hey goodbye . More breathing air for the rest us - you know, people are not murderers. Like this mistake of breeding.
