  • We are privileged regarding the set-up or removal of our home on a location compared to other travelers, but nevertheless there are a few things to do. The gravel roads are sometimes really small and you can see why our diesel consumption is slightly higher that the official announced one from MAN. The border ferry between Botswana and Zambia is adventurous and will soon be history.

    Your truck is my dream, it's the coolest one on UA-cam! My favorite part is your ATV garage, that would be a must if I ever got to build one.

    Enjoy the videos. We're looking into a vehicle like yours for ourselves. We made this crossing on July 25 in a somewhat smaller Land Cruiser. "Soon" may be an overstatement with regards to the bridge. Locals told us they wonder if their children will even get to use it.

      what kind of vehicle are you looking for?

    • @netcreature
      @netcreature 6 років тому +1

      We're just beginning to do research. We may begin with an ex-military chassis with an inexpensive non-custom living quarters. If we enjoy this we would purchase something custom later.

    Please add (cc) subtitles in english to all your other German videos for the numpties who suffer from monolingualism. You may have to look up numpties, see what i did? We would really appreciate it.

      @@PeterStrub-pegasus-unterwegs Thank you very much for your kind reply Peter. Your adventures have instilled in me, the desire to embark on journeys unknown, in just the same way; Although my dream truck I can not afford. Maybe one day.
      I have tried again to add English subtitles to your channel, but to know avail. I just have the choice of English while watching English and German as i watch your short movies in German. Neither of which helps really. Maybe I require an I.T. nurd? Clicking on the CC icon just discombobulates me. It is good for a person to have goals, and to see outside the cage that can entrap them, it keeps the morass of life at arms length. Thank you for allowing me to dream.
      Maybe some one out there who has solved this conundrum can offer guidance.
      Ah, I was correct ask a nurd, they make the world go round. Problem solved.
      Travel safely.

    I read Mr R's comment and must disagree. I suffer a lot under too loud music and an Aussi even meant indirectly I would be to stupid to regulate (which might well be). But here it is perfectly mixed - at least where sit - in a bathtub with a laptop on a chair.

      Sorry one question more, now we have 2017, do you think even now, you can do this trip safety like it was before again? How do you plan the trip?

    • @petermathewvanaardt74
      @petermathewvanaardt74 6 років тому +1

      as an white african that has travelled across our beautiful continent and know it very well I can assure you that those soldiers are a lot safer than the average US police are! MOST countries in Africa are very safe, especially from the soldiers who may, in some countries, bribe you for a 'road tax' (Guinea especially) or a cold drink or cigarettes but they are there mostly as protection and fo any criminal element trying to smuggle goods from one country to the other. Don't take nonsense from them, be firm and polite and show respect and chat with them and you will find the vast majority are very happy to give you advice and assistance.

    • @petermathewvanaardt74
      @petermathewvanaardt74 6 років тому +1

      yes in terms of safety the areas they have travelled in are fine. Most countries in central and southern Africa are. DRC I would avoid the northern districts, SA speak to locals about which areas to avoid and West Africa, Guinea avoid if you can as the army like to bribe foreign and local travelers for 'road tax' . As long as your visas and documents of good they legally have no right to demand anything from you in any country in Africa. North Africa as I am sure you watch the news stay away from the NORTH east. North West from Morocco down is fine. East Africa from Kenya down is great, the easiest to travel and mostly good roads. If you are coming down then a good route is Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique via Pemba and work your way down the most beautiful coast in Africa (Mozambique) to Maputo the southern Capital then down the coast to South Africa and Durban, Wild Coast, Garden Route (Must SEE) to Cape Town via the Wine Route. Most of this route has many places to camp and have a lot of fun and beautiful landscapes, beaches and forests. Enjoy!

    The Music is FARE TO LOUD IN VOLUME, and nerv wracking as well. I didn‘t undertand why everyone thinks, that Heavy Metal in Background would make a better vid.
    Please keep the Original Sound, if I Iike to hear a RockMusic Concert, I will choose such a vid.
    Thx

    This car is absolutely too big and too heavy for traveling. It would be good for US only. Size of Iveco Daily 4x4 is 50 times better and less problematic. Just think of cost of ferries, fuel, parts, load capability of some bridges, etc.

      The video you commented on shows the rig outside of the US, so your comment is nonsensical.

    I see the civilians are trying to make cash just for pointing out the obvious empty parking spots. I guess they do that all over the world. I hate that. Get a real job. I'll can see for myself if there's an empty parking spot or not without help thank you very much.

      Hahahahaha.... get a real job? It is a real job when you have nothing else. Try crossing the El Salvador to Honduras border. So many kids work there to help their families.

    • @sandsteps

      That’s part of their jobs, because it’s not a free far all, you dummy. You really need to get out of Texarcana shoot’em country a bit more you know. And no, being part of an invading army or navy does NOT count as traveling, you hick.
