- Alina Cojocaru in her first interview on British television, few days after her promotion to Royal Ballet Principal dancer (17 April 2011)
Alina is timeless! Beautiful ballerina and artist
Mulțumim !
she's so modest! i don't think she truly knows how amazing she is! when the interview said that she was a principal, she just looked down with a modest smile and said, 'yes...'
that really shows how amazingly nice she is, not just how amazing she is at dancing. alina, you are my idol and the most beautiful and passionate dancer out there, we love you!
What a wonderful, charismatic dancer and such a likeable, sweet and humble girl.
Thank you for posting this interview, it helps to get to know her as the beautiful person she is!!
No way could you 'pass [her] on the street without a second glance'!!
Someone really needs to do a documentary on Alina! This makes me miss all the lovely class / rehearsal footage of her that we could have!
What an enchanting dancer! A true artist!
Wonderful Alina! Can anyone be sweeter than her? Thank you so much for posting this and for all your other ballet videos!
She seems aetherical, out of this world!
she seems so sweet
How could 1 like not? Alina Cojocaru is one of the most charismatic dancers. You have to like her :)
She is soooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the video. I love her. She deserves the best.
Is she really a human being?!! I went to see her in covent garden and she was simply breathtaking
I could watch her dance all day lol.
@dancingboy97 This video was made in 2001, when she was 20, at that time Marinela was not a principal with the RB, that's why she is not counted. She became principal more than a year later in September 2002. Alina was made principal on 17 April 2001. Alina became principal at 19 years and 11 months old and Marinela at 20 years and 6 months old.
She's my favourite, hands down! I look up to her the most! Go Alina!
She is simply perfect!
This girl is phenomenal :) She was clearly born to dance and is the closest thing to a fairy being on stage :)
She is fantastic!
Alina is an excellent ballerina!
Aw, Alina! I love you!
MAGNIFIQUE . SUBLIME .
she is so beautiful =)
It was my dad's birthday when you posted this
I really lova Alina's beautiful dancing she is very amazing she is the reason why I love the Royal Ballet of London. Ever since i saw her as Clara in the Nutcracker I always watch videos on youtube of her. keep up the good work Alina!!!
wow. i'm surprised with fact that she studied ballet in our Kiev choreographic school!)))
She looked so young here☺️💓 (she Is 41 now)
She and Johan are happily married with two children now
@repn87 I really believe she is. With all she's accomplished at the Royal Ballet and the huge amount of guesting she's done. Just curious, (not trying to start a fight!) but who do you think the top ballerina is?
belíssima meu deus...
Frumos! BRAVO EI!
@SuperBalletgirl101 well said! we should all stop comparing dancers/artists and respect each other and just enjoy that artists are not machines but as you say "all unique and has their own style"
:)
@Leirix61 The commentator says that she arrived in London only eighteen months ago, so this is 2001, not 2011.
yes she is near 40 now
yes this is very old indeed Alina is 40 here in 2021
@silkenthreaddance I was thinking the same thing about Evegnia, the Mariinsky isn't giving her a chance, she is doing principals roles in guests spots around the world instead of at her home theater it's such a pity. It would be a great loss for the Kirov is Evgenia left but I almost wish she won't leave because the Kirov needs her, they just haven't given her the roles she deserves. I'm torn on the decision :P
@silkenthreaddance She was 20 when she did this interview.
@rosy879 The Dream by Ashton - they're rehearsing the PDD where Oberon and Tatiana reconcile/fall in love again.
she's like a little mouse
they said ONE OF... :)
her voice reminds me of AURORA
Romania’s Best import to Britain
They say youngest for a lot of ballerinas what about Margot? How old was she when she was prima ballerina?
She was certainly only at the begining 10 years ago! She couldn't have know back than that in 10 years she would become the world's top ballerina!!
why she left the royal ballet?
To be the BEST or nothing !
shes Romanian
@repn87 Well for me there is a difference between 'top' and "best". If that makes any sense... for me top, is more like achievements and such. Best, for me, is not possible in art. Every dancer is unique and has there own style and triumphs. Personal favorites is different as well, and for me, Alina is a personal favorite. :)
@silkenthreaddance she is 30, but she looks younger :)
she looks 13. LOL
how tall is she in non retrarded untits?
157 cm
5"s is not short!!
Her Gisele is WITHOUT peer
Can she be any more feminine and beautiful?...
Yeah she's not my favorite kind of dancer. She looks prepubescent, like a gymnast. A ballerina should look post pubescent.
Literally none of the primas look like women. They all have prepubescent bodies.
