i am really struggling with the ribbed edging...especially once you start half-double crocheting back to the edge. I cant locate which stitches to use for that section...help please
It is a difficult ribbing, perhaps you could do a single crochet in a back loop ( all same) or just go around with front and back post dc just to give the edges a bit of finishing
I use the last stitch on the hook as a guide for which back loop to use. Roll the piece ever so slightly towards you, then you’ll see the ‘top’ of the last row. It gets easier as you progress. The first few rows are slightly difficult. I’ve also tried not to put any tension at all on the slip stitches, so I could get the hook through easily. Helps to find the correct back loop.

Yes , I think if you use bigger measurements and dont do the decreasing of the neckline before you start the hood everything should work out great
