I absolutely love it!, super scary in the beginning but you learn to have fun sliding. Also, the pros of not having proper mud tyres means you have to learn how to avoid those slides by bunny hopping, manuals, or just relaxing and driving the bike back to grip. Crashes are to be expected but after a couple of months you kinda get the knack of it. Nice video as usual:)
Yes, love sliding if it's not getting to steep 😀 By the way, if it is no tree but a snag relax and simple roll straight over it! And google Danny Hart Champery 2011 as well 👍
I don’t have a tuxedo to wear during rides and it rains 10 months a year here. Yup, there’s mud. There’s a few ideas here that I’m gonna try today. Standing water, slippery roots and body positioning. I have fresh running water in the shower too. Wife laughs at the size of my laundry basket. Happy Valentines.
Hi Guys Another great and helpful video 👍 from watching your videos I’ve got myself an E Mountain Bike a Track Powerfly 7 I’m 56 and it’s really great to help me getting up them hills I’ve also included the bike my YT videos and there’s lots of interest from the vanlife community 👍 keep up the good work hope to bump into you sometime 👍😀🐾
Mud, we have plenty of it here in Herefordshire on the Welsh border which is great for focusing the mind and makes for a harder workout but cleaning your bike, clothing, shoes and yourself afterwards is a pain 😎 Some good tips Steve
Brilliant video, thanks. I purchased a giant trance e+ 2019 in Dec and loving your channel ! This is exactly the conditions I ride in daily and these tips will help me a lot. Cheers
One thing about the riding through puddles and mud like you started with. If your on the flat like your example, make sure you get your weight over the back wheel. You don't know how deep that puddle or mud is. My mate did it last night, decided to ride through the puddle to avoid the deep mud. Front wheel went into the puddle about a foot and he went over the handle bars and face planted into the ground.. I was unable to help him though as I was unable to stop laughing..
Quick question I have a YT decoy and it cane stock with 2.5 up front and 2.8 out rear tires, would I benefit better with 2.6 all around or should I keep it at the recommended tire size?
Brilliant video... that said NOTHING could have saved me from the Lake District “clag” yesterday That said great technique tips... I am now thinking though whether a better (smaller) tyre could save me from the mud clearance issues I have with my new turbo levo comp A perfectly timed episode
Better tires might be an idea 🤔. Honestly - tried Magic Marys in the mud? No comparison to any Maxxis tire I tried so far. For me the Marys definitely are the DHRII for mud. ... Well maybe should've watched the whole video first 😂😂😂
This video is up there with the one where Steve wore that stupid hat and wig and spoke with an American accent.......... no one in their right mind enjoys riding in this siht and would take a dry trail 100 times out of a 100!
No way I would run higher tyre pressures in wet conditions, exactly the opposite, so they are able to deform better over wet roots and find grip. Running higher pressures the tyres just slide and skip on wet roots.
I agree, running an Eddy current with a vittori insert. I weigh 90kg and with 25-30psi it would spin everywhere. Dropping to 15psi, it hooks up loads more and allowed for far greater climbing. Its the same with 4x4 off roading, lower pressures give more grip in mud.
Will Bennett You’d think so wouldn’t you but higher pressure wins mucker. When the mud gets deeper and sloppier it’s best to cut thru and running lower pressure just means more work and more movement. Trust me, try higher pressures in the mud. Guaranteed to improve your ride or your money back!😜
Why not save soil erosion and not ride in mud when its been raining , stop skidding on the fall line. That is not going to get mountain bikers a good image.
Do you like riding in the mud?

I have more snow and ice issues in the Colorado mountains. I’d love to see an issue on that. The mud bit is helpful for spring riding here. Thanks!
I thought this was gonna be boring .....but ........i was wrong ...it was good ...glad I took the time to watch it
Great video as always guys👌 🚴

Google Danny Hart Champery 2011. That’s the best crazy mud winning run. The commentary is funny too.
Playing in the grease and soup? Needing knobbies and fenders
Take off the wide tyres and put on 2.3 width to did through the slime.
How is it there is not one iota of mud on the tires of your blog picture???😂
What is mud?? Oh yeah, we just had some rain !! Yay. But anyway we just go around it. I don't ride in mud.
I think the project name has ended up as the title you might want to update it.
Better tires might be an idea 🤔.

try a shorty, its even better than magic mary and continental baron
@@michael_the_chef I have a shorty on my Kenevo and a Mary on my Levo and the Mary is the better tyre..IMHO. :-)
@@twba1977 but not in mud
Yes in Mud....
@@twba1977 not really for me, but i think both of them are pretty similar.
the maxxis tyre is easier to control. mary sometimes behaves like a bitch 😂
Get some mudguards.
I hate going to maccies on the way home looking like I've sh@t myself.
There are no trees where I live

Yeah, mud in Transilvania is unrideable. It sticks to your tyre and you're stuck
Ride west coast of Oz, sorry I don't understand what is this stuff you call mud??? ;😎

Clearly never tried it then.

@@Ruffest of course I've tried it lol. That's how I know what works better.
Anyone who calls a fakie a revert has no clue.
@@twba1977 your not riding that muddy stuff then.
#emtb flat pedal shoot out
Only reason I dint ride in the mud is becuase i got to clean the damn bike!
Here in Lancashire we have 50 different names for mud. Best tip, Higher tire pressures work best for mud.
I think you Mean lower tire pressure 👍

Great video Steve....but your goggles are on back to front....
Don't like the mud , that's why i live in the Philippines ...
If you don't know how to rude a bike in any conditions then should you be riding a bike 😂

Try riding wolds clay!!! Your attempts are no where near real mud.
Get muddy
Ebikes hibernate during the winter, that's when the fat tire bikes come out.
Homosexuals love the mud
