is tempest trials affected by normal-maddening difficulty? The tempest trials seem really tedious to do, and feel like I'd rather just cheese it with 195+ avoid units.

You don't lose rescue staves or any other consumables, so yes it is.

yea its pretty much just postgame fun along with the relay trials, you get to build endgame units and actually test it

Tempest trials is also technically a source of infinite exp so there’s that too
