My b. smithi handeling session ended up with my nose, upper lip, arms, and legs going up in hives and swelling lol. It’s been an hour of itching and swelling but I can feel it going down thankfully

Use cold water. Hot water opens up your pores and usually makes it harder for itching to go away.

Looks painful! I keep hair kickers and I usually pop on gloves before doing anything in their enclosures, and rinse my hands + lower arms well afterwards.if I forget to wear gloves, I start itching within minutes of dealing with my P sazimai, N chromatus. Those ones seem to set me off plus they kick quite a bit of hair around the enclosure

I unfortunitly suffer from a bad allergic reactions too its not nice at all, it hurts less to scratch your skin raw then sit with the blisters all day...

I must be so allergic. While watering my H. Formosus, I went to adjust the nozzle of my spray bottle and turned it too far, and when I squeezed the handle, the tip came clean off and into its hair webs. In retrieving the nozzle, I must have been careless and not only grabbed the nozzle but pushed my finger into the substrate a little. I think I forced some hairs up under my cuticle because it looks and feels as though I have the worst infected ingrown nail of all time. It's so swollen and painful that I couldn't even sleep. I'm a person that has seasonal allergies as well as extremely allergic to cats (dunno if there's any correlation there) also the nature of it seems heightened from the hairs basically infiltrating my skin and going up into my finger where the skin meets the nail. It's not really any itching but severe pain and very swollen and throbbing. There's also some very deep blisters forming. The blisters seem deep and still developing. The best thing I've found to sooth it is basically sitting next to a huge cup of iced water with my finger in it. Any contact with the swollen finger causes big time pain, so compresses are kinda out. Anyway, I doubt anyone read all that, but thanks for the video.

Try running your hand under hot water when it gets extremely itchy, it’ll offer you a full day of relief and short out the itch signal to the brain. Basically the science behind it, is it’s two signals and the pain overrides the itchy, cold works also but the hot water feels really good. My other choice is to have a pin handy and lance the blisters they heal on their own after a day 👍

@@Nephilim12340 well I'm myopic. I know everyone says they are too small but I was able to see at least some of them. I pulled something out of my fingers, if not that then what?

The tape method I described should be your first port of call because the little hairs are still lodged in your skin, you’ll have to wait until the skin layer sheds otherwise.

I have pompholyx and don't even own any tarantulas. The only thing that works for me is topical steroids like triamcinolone, which you have to get from a doctor

As the hairs are stuck in the skin and causing irritation. Could you use the tip of hot needle and just burn those hairs off?
