Also you could do these analysis videos you've done for the mafia protagonists to the watch dogs protagonists (aiden, marcus and wrench) @CynicGTA also I know you did ghost of tsushima so you could probably do the other big Playstation franchises (god of war, Spiderman, uncharted) and maybe videos on gta 5/4?
God of war and uncharted are coming. I’ll probably run through every game beforehand to make sure this type of video for those IPs are done right. So give those 2 a bit of time. GOW Ragnarok is releasing on PC in a week or so. So, in relation to that there will be some upcoming GOW videos. But they wont be a replacement for the major analysis
The whole documentary style for the cutscenes was an incredible choice, never seen that before. Also Donovan is the best example of a character i want 100 more hours of but never want to meet. And something i noticed on my most recent playthrough is that the trial over the murder of the two black guys is mentioned throughout the game over the radio stations, and depending on the station they talk about it completely differently.
Apparently their murder is also tied to Lincoln in a round a bout way. One time I was playing, I heard someone mention that the reason the guy murdered the two men was because he heard about a "big black veteran that was running around and killing white folks".
@@CleverRiley9 not only that as your progress the game they do that with other news related topics on the radio AND they even report on stuff you caused
Not to mention Vito’s effects on running New Bordeaux actually benefit the town more than make it a detriment which is what would occur with the other two
Im firmly in the camp that Mafia 3 is definitely underrated. Yes the gameplay is a bit of a grind at points but goddamn what a story. The "Paint It Black" scene is also top tier.
I couldn't agree more. Hangar 13 had balls to show a realistic american society, during the civil rights movement, along with all the more racial slurs, the triple K and hillbillies attitude towards African people. Nowadays most videogame companies are more politically correct, censoring anything controversial from any particular timeline, like if that never existed in history before.
Even then the actual grind is very over exaggerated it’s pretty much only the standard minor missions which give you 2500 are the repetitive ones same with the three cars for Burke missions.
The most underrated game ever. Not just the story was amazing, but also the atmosphere, the music, satisfying gunplay, radio talking bits and adverts were unbelievably good, cutscenes to die for, DLCs that were not just filler like in most games, but added all new stories, beautifully complementing the main arc. Just a phenomenonal game the stupid plebs didn't understand.
10000% agree. The motion capture and everything is just amazing. The biggest tragedy is that the gameplay gets a little repetitive, but I still love what they accomplished with this game. Can’t wait for the next mafia! I wonder if they’re still planning on continuing Lincoln’s story in Vegas like I had heard years ago
Ok you yourself are a stupid pleb if thats what you think people hated about the game. Anyone who isn't a moron knows all that was great. The issues were the repetitive and boring mission designs, brain dead ai, an open world with nothing to do, poor performance and abysmal lighting. Maybe take the rose tinted glasses off and look at the game objectively you schmuck
I never beat the game, back then I started a lot and never finished anything. But that line and the subsequent hanging has stuck with me all these years. God damn.
"You can pray on the way up" and "it's enough if you say it's enough" are definitely the two best for me I also like how, when you take on the slave trade racket, even if you do the wire tapping that would normally let you recruit the racket boss, Lincoln just says "I want you to die" and stabs him without giving the player a choice. Then tells whoever he gives the racket to that they won't be continuing that business and find another way to make money. It's not a single line but I liked it a lot as a subversion of the standard gameplay loop. And a fitting one, I had been recruiting the racket leaders all along but by the time I reached this one, I had decided to make an exception. And the Lincoln just does it for me without asking. Brilliant.
In my personal opinion, since Lincoln wanted Sal to feel what it was like to lose everything, the best order to deal with the Capos would be this: Lou Marcano first, Remy Duvall and Olivia Marcano second, and Tommy Marcano last - with the added bonus of Tommy being left to burn. Sal's relationship with his younger brother Tommy is the closest the middle sibling has with the rest of the Marcano family, with his son Giorgi being the exception. So, with that in mind, Tommy dying horribly and his body being burned beyond recognition would allow Sal to truly experience how Lincoln and Thomas Burke felt when Sammy, Ellis, and Danny were murdered and left to burn. In the words of George Lucas, "It's like poetry: it rhymes."
I agree with you about getting rid off Tommy at the end. But I think it's better to get rid off Remmy and Olivia first, because they were the less important members of Sal's organizations, at least in emotional terms, just like with his nephew Michael Greco. Then Lou Marcano, to make Sal furious, combined with being humiliated by Santangelo, in order to have his money.
One thing I love about this format of a documentary is that, if you fail a mission, McGuire becomes so confused. You screwed up so bad that you messed up time and space itself.
I also favor the leave ending as well with Vito in charge, he makes the place into a Vegas and is thriving. As for Lincoln, his ending isn't happy, but rather, bittersweet because as the Father said, he just can't seem to find his place in the world or who he truly is, he's a man at large running not from the law but in search of his purpose
@@newhappythoughts1628 He may belong but he's not truly happy and he destroys the only family relation he had left in the Father. He's still very lost regardless. I'd argue that it's a matter of perspective No matter what you choose, it's never fully bright or dark, it's all shades of grey
@@combinecommando001 You think constantly being on the run FOR DECADES makes someone truly happy? Also, he never sees Father James again which ever ending you choose and honestly, I HATE Father James. Furthermore, Father James just CLAIMS Lincoln lost his way in the Rule Together ending, but completely ignores that Lincoln did so much good for the city. Vito and Joe also love liquor and women, but no one bats an eye at their vices.
Idk man the DLC's were pretty awful. Especially the one about the hippy cult, and while the spec ops one was the best one story wise, it was still meh. And the only reason to really play Faster Baby is to be able to sell weed at the end.
@@tdl2550 They were just “too quick” in my opinion. The best one was “Stones Unturned” (if that’s the name) by far and that DLC in general shouldn’t be slandered.
@@tdl2550the “hippy cult” was the literal KKK with a corrupt sheriff in a sundown town and that’s all I need to see from you to know anything else you say after will be complete nonsense😂
Idk man the game is good. It isn't terrible like some have made it out to be. Mafia 2 is better imo but I like Mafia 3 for its commitment to historical realism during the Civil Rights era of the late 60s and it's cast of characters almost clears mafia 2. If we got more cutscenes with Lincoln, Donovan, or Father James it could've been nominated for GOTY in 2016.
@jameer7565 What's wrong with something simple like that? Nowadays with nearly every game having so much to do, it's nice to enjoy just a clear path with no side tracks.
@@bronze5548 Nothing is wrong with it until you realize they added a big wide world as deep as a puddle. Like it would genuinely be more digestible if it were like the Mafia 1 remake and you can skip the traveling, plus the story is a little more linear. I distinctly remember the actual game missing so much from the trailer and that's fine, but when they ask you to do something like find 10 grand or whatever in the finale my first response was "how...?" There's virtually nothing there but clothes and food stands you'll never visit and a vehicle shops you'll never use. From a gameplay perspective there are PS2 games with more going on. Sometimes simple is a detriment when you can't choose if you wanna big deep and sprawling grand epic adventure or a small contained intimate story.
It's so refreshing to finally see someone that can recognize the beauty of this game and not just talk about how bad it is. Yes, the game has it's problems and the gameplay can be repetitive (at least for me the combat and driving sistem is very addictive xd), but besides from that, this game truly is a love lette.
I wish we could've gotten a scene (depending on ending) of Lincoln finding McGuire and simply asking "What lengths would you go to in order to avenge your murdered family." A man that is broken by the world around him is not a monster, but a man only being held together by righteous fury
Sal's Biggest mistake was to not shoot Lincoln himself or not waiting for Lincoln to leave and plan an accident and fall guy to kill Sammy, and Elis. Lincoln never planned to stay he only planned to stay to help out Sammy and then leave again. Sal knew he was screwed the minute Lincoln survived after he knew Lincoln's military history
Sal knew his military record and his missions but still doubt his capability and sheer will. Sal never cared he always was selfish and he put himself above others and that's why he ultimatly failed. He relied so much on unexperienced gunmen who had little experienced in guerrilla warfare. Sal Marcano never faced a threat before that was bound to operate to destroy his operations in significant way. Sal only lost to himself here, his ignorance showed that. That's why he is not a great Mob boss in comparision to any other mob bosses in this franchise. Aldridge was a way better villain in this game, he knew what the enemies he was going to face such as CIA, Donovan and etc. But he knew Donovan is a great soldier although he wouldn't manage to deal with it by himself all alone and that's where Lincoln comes in. Lincoln knew jungle warfare better than anyone and for something Aldridge didn't count for was Lincoln being a force of recon.
Donovan is such a badass dude, ride or die homie. I feel like the ending with him was setting up some sort of sequel or spin-off to Mafia 3, but the game got so much flak that they abandoned it.
The issue is the gameplay was the game. They exchanged any actual story for player freedom in how they take down the mob, which is really sad because some of the scenes are so cinematic.
Mafia 3 was my first mafia game and it was a blast to play Granted after a while the gameplay was super repetitive pretty quickly The story the setting the music and the city was always a blast to play through and was a extremely well voiced and acted cast
I can see why people disliked the game because you are against the Mob rather than with them but Lincoln Clay is hands down one of my top 10 video game protagonists.
I finally know why Maguire had a grudge against Lincoln. He never gave off the vibe that he is racist as he seems to admire Lincoln as much as he hates him. Now I know its because he took down Sal and not himself
I don't think Maguire is actually racist. I think he despised Lincoln for his brutal actions against the Marcanos, and the countless deaths and property damage that he caused, but not because of his race. We never heard him saying the n-word uncensored and if he was an actual racist, he would never recognize that Lincoln did something that nobody else would or could do, which was finished an entire organized crime. He would say something like "that n*gger is a dead man and a complete danger for all our society".
The man had his life's work dismantled in 9 months by a PTSD-addled, special forces, black ops CIA asset who had everything he loved destroyed in front of him. A dude who commits himself to the rule of law would take what Lincoln did personally.
Iirc Maguire pointed about Duvall being a klan offshoot leader and how Lincoln ended him was a good thing, so yeah, he never came across as one, but more of "It should've been me, who brought Marcano down".
about the last conversation between Giorgi and Lincoln i think when he said he tried to kill Lincoln and the others back at the bar and said he did it for Sal i dont think he meant it in the same way as how Lincoln and Sammy would've done anything for Sal as their boss but rather he did it because Sal is his father and he loved him and would do anything to gain his Approval and affection same way Lincoln would've done anything for his adoptive father Sammy, its shown multiple times through out the game that a lot of Giorgi's action are motived by him seeking his father approval which is why he leaned so hard into the lifestyle that Sal was actively trying to pull him out of,he thought that Sal considered him weak and not capable of living the same life style as him when in reality Sal just wanted him to be safe and not waste his life away like he did it also adds some extra weight to Lincoln words when he says: "then you understand why i have to do this" in the same way Giorgi did anything for Sal Lincoln would do anything for Sammy
@@akramnasralla750 I also think that way. Because when Sal asked Giorgi to send someone to get rid off Olivia, Giorgi did it himself in the exact way that Sal wanted to be done. Giorgi definitely did all the things that he did, including betraying Lincoln and all his closest friends, all for his approval of his father, without caring for others, including his aunt if Sal wanted to be dead, and his cousin Michael Greco.
23:05 I'm not gonna lie. The first time that I saw the Marcanos' betrayal cutscene, I was in absolute shock, I couldn't believe what just happened. That moment haunted me for a while after seeing that, to the point that I even had a few fever dreams of a distorted and randomized versions of Mafia 3, trying to find a way to avoid that moment to ever happen and save Sammy, Ellis and Danny from Sal and Giorgi's betratayal. But failing miserably over and over again. I never had this obsession for some video game characters' deaths since the deaths of The Walking Dead The Telltale Series Season 1 characters.
@@ABigBowlOfChipsNow every time that I hear that song, it always comes back to me flashbacks of Sal and Giorgi's betrayal and Sammy, Ellis and Danny's deaths, no matter if I hear it on the radio, on the TV, on the internet or in any other way that doesn't have to do with Mafia 3.

@@ruben_zermeno that would be cool too, I think mafia 3 is a fantastic unfinished game if it had like 4 more years In the oven to restructure gameplay and the cutscenes and just make the game overall higher quality like the car rear view mirror and stuff I think the game really could be considered one of the goat open world crime games
@@Prizm17 I agree with you 100%. If the greedy executives of 2K would have given Hangar 13 more years of development for Mafia 3, maybe none of these Day 1 Launch bugs and glitches that ruined the game's reputation would have never happened, and maybe Mafia 3 would have turned into a game of the year also.
@@Prizm17 I also wanted to customized more vehicles from the game and not just the ones from our personal delivery. Luckily I actually managed to modify Mafia 3 myself on PC and I managed to swap some vehicles from the vanilla car delivery with the ones that I also wanted to try to customize also. And surprisingly some of these non-official vehicles to customize works perfectly, being fully customizable also. A real shame, because it's only possible for the PC modder gamers. However, some others that I also swapped, are "half customizable". The game won't crash or anything like that, you can still change the color of the cars, along with the glass, the seats and the wheels of these vehicles, but the race stickers don't work properly on them, and others also don't let you add spoilers, customized exhaust pipes or V8 engines. Some specific ones their only possible to add after you unlock actual vehicle upgrades, after you take the second and fourth district specifically from your playthrough, and once you unlocked those upgrades, you cannot remove the spoilers, exhaust pipes or V8 engines like the other vehicles that they are just decorations but not actual upgrades.
Father James: can you just kill him? Lincoln: naw, thats not enough. Father James: can you just kill him... please? Lincoln: naw, thats not enough. Father james: please??? Lincoln: Naw, thats not enough.
What would've give the game a more striking first impression was originally Lincoln was gonna be lynched in the intro of Mafia 3 during development but was scrapped due to believing it would be too much to stomach for the players
And it was in the start of the pearl clutchers. My mother being one of them didn't let me get the game. I got it on my own volition and I tried telling her about this story she just couldn't stomach it 💀
@@ds2561 Yeah, he was going to be lynched by the Southern Union/KKK for dating a white girl on the streets, and between the supremacists that captured Lincoln was a chief of police and none other than Remy Duval much earlier in the game. In another part of the script, Lincoln managed to escape, but he ended up killing that supremacist chief of police, forcing him to leave the city for killing a high rank officer. Being his original reason to join the army during the Vietnam War.
You can still find in the game file a teenage Lincoln head model with a bloody face and injury from rope around his neck also a part of the reason Lincoln join the military was to get away cuz he accidentally killed a cop who was also a part of his attempted lynching which was cut from the game
One of my favorite quotes from this game. “If all you ever look for is evil in this world, that’s all you’re ever going to find.” I get the gameplay can get repetitive but i thought the story was amazing. I was honestly pretty sad it was over when I was done and wanted more even after playing all the DLC. It’s funny to me that people didn’t like this game simply because they think the only Mafia on earth ever was the Italian mafia in the early 20th century. Believe it or not my historically inept children, but other mafias DO EXIST.💀
That makes two of us. I still don't care what people say about Mafia 3 and Lincoln Clay as a protagonist. Despite the undeniable flaws that the game still has, I still love Mafia 3 to this day, and Lincoln is also my favorite protagonist in the franchise. Alex Hernandez (Lincoln's voice actor) did an AMAZING job portraying him.
@ruben_zermeno. And now you can say three. Out of all the games I played, Lincoln is up there with my favorite protagonists of all time, and your right his VA Alex Hernandez did a great job.
@@ruben_zermeno he can lift up a 250 pound man and slam him on the ground without running out of energy, he knows every guns and combat and man that can't die, he more worst then tommy, if you put Lincoln in the same spot for Tommy Miller in the city, there won't be a WLF anymore because Ellie won't even have to do nothing that how op he is.
I heard Lincoln described as having the strength and build of Jason Vorhees, the drive of Frank Castle or Max Payne, the speed of characters like batman/the red hood, the training of Rambo, and moves like Michael Myers
19:50 Disagree. Even Donavan confirm that Sal most likely lied about the retirement of Sammy. The only difference is that Lincoln wouldnt have whacked with them. Its very similar to the Lufthansa heist. In fact, there was a real life person named Burke involved with the heist. In the Lufthansa heist Burke had alot of people unalived to hide the crime and keep his share.
Also another reason that Sal Marcano wanted to go legitimate and betrayed the Robinson and Burke families was because of the civil rights movement. When we saw Sal and Giorgi talking about the construction of their casino after we defeated Michael Greco, Sal said to Giorgi that legitimizing their crime family was the only way to continue living their lives. Because Sal in his racist mentality, he felt secure when the minorities used to "know their place" in the world, meaning that they used to accept being segregated and considered as unwelcome outsiders. But now with the civil rights movement starting to rise in the south, the blacks, hispanics, jews, homosexuals, chinese and even the irish, along with many other ethnicities, started to claim equality and respect at the same level as any white catholic american, and "a slice of the piece", instead of just small leftovers. In other words, they wanted the same level of freedom and earnings as the caucasian people, and not being treated as slaves anymore. Sal at some point thought that if he actually spared Sammy, Ellis, Danny and Lincoln, giving to all of them their cut from the heist, and also returning Burke Pointe Verdun back to him, they would be too dangerous and uncontrollable, to the point that they would attack his organization. That is also why he and Giorgi took all the money from the heist, despite that they also stole the plates from the federal reserve to also print even more money.
Really great video this shit was like a mafia doc and I love it. This game was fucking awesome to play. The stories in all three games are great but this one was top tier
Idc how much this game was hated it’s still one of my favorites of all time and the few games I have beaten more times then I can remember my favorite part about the story is I felt so much rage like Lincoln after the betrayal by Sal the whole game I was ready to kill him but when it came to the time to kill Sal you sit down drink with him exchanging stories of nightmares I no longer felt hate or even wanting to kill Sal I just sat there and listened I dint set Sal on fire or trow him out the window I shot him in the head and just moved on
I enjoy the game but the way I remember it most of the flack it got revolved around the very gamey busywork you have to do. It can take the wind out of the story's sails sometimes, especially when this wasn't really a factor back in Mafia II.
Honestly I understand this game can be repetitive but the story is what I play for, it's one of the best storylines I've ever seen, it would've worked even better as a mini TV series
From a documentatry standpoint and a documentary style coverage the game is great and fun to listen too. The game was some fun while playing it but frustrating too. Game liked and disliked the story is awesome. Awesome vid love listening to videos like this while doing the day to day.
Lincoln clay needs to make a comeback. I mean yeah if it were to be in this day and age literally in 2024 he would be old AF so it would be great to have a new mafia game following his story set in the late 1970s to early 1980s California.
Loved this video, especially after replaying the game very recently. You’re entitled to your opinion but I actually felt taking over the city was the most appropriate ending. Everyone views Lincoln as a monster by the time documentary airs and I always felt like the story was basically implying Lincoln was just another Sal Marcano at the end of it all. Lincoln himself says he wants to take over just to pour salt in the wound and I just feel like the leave ending is just too happy and bittersweet for a game like this. Lincoln’s path of revenge was pretty brutal and monstrous, and I just don’t really think you can absolve yourself of that by just leaving. Thats just me tho, love this game and loved your vid!
@@steveorsomthing7600 For me, it's more of a neutral ending. Because despite that Lincoln ended up living the high life of a mob boss, but doing much moral actions as the ruler of New Bordeux, and feeling secure and untouchable from Maguire and the FBI, he also betrayed Father James after he saved his life. Father James despite the fact that he knew that both Lincoln and his adopted family were criminals, he also saw Lincoln growing up since he was a little boy, so he couldn't just leave him in Sammy's bar, knowing that he was the only one alive. And also despite that Father James was against Lincoln's path of revenge, he also understood in a sort of level why he did what he did along with his pain a loss for his adopted family and his Irish childhood friend. Father James was also a medic soldier in WW2, having a similar experience of war trauma like Lincoln. But the reason that Father James let Lincoln do his revenge mission against the Marcanos was not to replace Marcano's organization, it was to remove them, give the people of the city more freedom and peace from the mob illicit businesses surrounding them. And Lincoln actually wanted to move away from the crime life and have a proper job and a normal life, when he returned from Vietnam. So it makes more sense for Lincoln to leave the city, and of course, having Vito enough power to rule the city himself, but at the same time without making Burke and Cassandra angry at us, to the point of getting rid off them.
The gameplay is repetitive, but honestly, that is the only thing I can find wrong with the game, the story is good, the characters are great, especially Lincoln, the setting is great. I love taking down each district. It’s a good game.
Rule Alone feels most fitting an ending, plus it fits with the ending cutscene of Sammy's being a parking lot and the priests testimony, it always seemed like he was grieving
@@chriscormac231 I'm not agree with that. Because if Lincoln leaves the city for good, that would also make sense that the place ended up shutting down, without proper management, even after Sammy's rebuilding in the Sign Of The Times DLC. Also it wouldn't make sense that Maguire continued looking for Lincoln after more than 40 years if he was already dead in 1968.
I've always thought about that, like he could've been like I'll take over but I want Sammy's retirement to be his choice, like I'm not saying no I'm saying later
Did we play the same game? Sal is a terrible person who backstabs anyone that’s not blood related. Sal rose to power by betraying a friend in prison and manipulated his brothers to whack that friend.
@newhappythoughts1628 Sal also cares about money, and if he thought that Lincoln could run the hollow better than Sammy, I think he would give Lincoln that one request.
@@HoosierDaddy2aI doubt it and even Donavan said he doubted it. The only person who would have survived would just be Lincoln if he accepted that offer.
The game hate was definitely fair cuz i had multiple gliches when i played and the side content and missions where kind of boring but the story was good and loved Lincoln
What's crazy is the detail in the radio stations mentioning real events that happened during the time period and I was amazed when the radio mentioned a fight that happened at my high school in real life when the school band played Dixie and the visiting team was colored and the home team was white a fight errupted and ended the game early.
This was one of those games I was mixed before launch. I loved Mafia 2 so much 3 just felt different but after playing it holy shit it’s an underrated game.
I always liked the ending of lincoln leaving, but that said, its also an incredible ending if lincoln stays with his capos like turning into the next marcano, its sort of a destructive cycle which is very poetic
How? He literally did more to help the city than even the government did when he became the mafia boss. Father James just painted Clay as Marcano because Father James is a moron.
I said this before in many other videos and I say this again, no matter how many I'm gonna say it: I don't care what people says about this game, I still LOVING Mafia 3 to this day, despite of being aware about all the flaws that the game had and unfortunely still has to this day, compare with the original Mafia 1 & 2. Objectively, I recognize that Mafia 2 is still the best game in the franchise in many aspects. In terms of gameplay, level of detail, AI and interactions with the world in general. But subjectively, Mafia 3 is my favourite Mafia game because of the story, the characters, the main protagonist of Lincoln Clay, the atmosphere and even the gameplay in many aspects, despite all the bad critics about it. I still playing Mafia 3 to this day, using now mods from the Mafia mod community that improve my experience with the game than ever before. Like swapping many cars in the game that I can now customize too, along with a few personal reskins of mine. Also, even if Mafia 3 is still not a perfect game, at least it is a much more aceptable game, compare with Cyberpunk 2077, and at least the developers of Hangar 13 tried to fix and upgrade the game as much as they could, being also more honest and respectful with the fans, than Volition developers calling Saints Row fans as terrorist haters for a similar glitchy and buggy mess of a game, but with a cringy story and much bigger step down of Saints Row 2022.
You and me both. Glad the 2nd time around you werent tricked by some crappy tesla scam either. I was worried for everyone else’s protection as much as i was getting the channel back
My first play through in like 2017ish, I loved Lincoln and his story but eventually dropped it because of the repetition. The combat was very satisfying with the brutal takedowns but the objectives get old. Played it again at the end of ‘22 into ‘23, on pc as well so adding a little handful of mods helped, usually I mainly get immersion or realism mods (stuff like photo real shaders or more damage given and taken, but some are simply just dope like a punisher outfit which fits this game so well and doesn’t completely merc immersion) it was a way more enjoyable experience. 1st, I knew it would be repetitive. 2nd, compared to a lot of games coming out lately especially around then it still looks and plays very well, aged beautifully. Also, DONOVAN IS THE GOAT DUDE! One of the best side characters in a game.
The scene where Lincoln kills Richie Doucet has always been so satisfying. Lincoln said "You can pray on your way up." and this time it was the Hollow that listened. *edit* I have been inspired to start a new playthrough.
I honestly never finished the game due to a save breaking bug preventing progress in the game. Gonna have to give this game another go for sure. I never knew the story was this deep.

100% this game was very over-hated. Personally my 2nd favorite Mafia game next to Mafia 1.
@@MAJIMAXKIRYU69 I think what people did was complete *everything* for a racket when all you had to do what get the money amount to 0.
Gameplay is Hugely debatable. Story was Great but the gunplay was one of the biigest things i disliked
The release was utter crap. Release is when a game gets the most attention, so most people only saw it in its terrible initial state.
"You can pray on the way up" is probably my favorite line in the entire game
@@ontheglo.28 For me my favourite one is from his 2015 trailer of ”Family is ain't who you are born with... is who you die for."
I never beat the game, back then I started a lot and never finished anything. But that line and the subsequent hanging has stuck with me all these years. God damn.
That line was cold blooded
"You can pray on the way up" and "it's enough if you say it's enough" are definitely the two best for me
I also like how, when you take on the slave trade racket, even if you do the wire tapping that would normally let you recruit the racket boss, Lincoln just says "I want you to die" and stabs him without giving the player a choice.
Brilliant.
Overhated game, overhated character.
it is a good game.... it is not a MAFIA game thats the entire problem

@@VIPERJ27 compare this game to the first and second........
I mean they did release it in a broken state when it first came out so it's their fault it got so much hate
In my personal opinion, since Lincoln wanted Sal to feel what it was like to lose everything, the best order to deal with the Capos would be this:
Lou Marcano first, Remy Duvall and Olivia Marcano second, and Tommy Marcano last - with the added bonus of Tommy being left to burn.
That’s why I never I picked that one. Atleast with Lincoln ruling, he has a place where he belongs.
@@newhappythoughts1628 He may belong but he's not truly happy and he destroys the only family relation he had left in the Father. He's still very lost regardless. I'd argue that it's a matter of perspective

people like to dog on this game because of its repetitiveness, but I argue to say its up there with one of the best games I've ever played.
Its a great story however I have to agree its very grindy and still buggy
@@eaglesfan03 I genuinely think rose tinted glasses are what makes 2, there's virtually nothing to do besides story missions.

I wish we could've gotten a scene (depending on ending) of Lincoln finding McGuire and simply asking
"What lengths would you go to in order to avenge your murdered family."
A man that is broken by the world around him is not a monster, but a man only being held together by righteous fury
I would have liked to see that too.
Honestly that sounds so corny
Sal's Biggest mistake was to not shoot Lincoln himself or not waiting for Lincoln to leave and plan an accident and fall guy to kill Sammy, and Elis. Lincoln never planned to stay he only planned to stay to help out Sammy and then leave again. Sal knew he was screwed the minute Lincoln survived after he knew Lincoln's military history
Exactly, and if you kill Lou first or at the end, Sal would blame Giorgi for not shooting him more than once, just like Sal did with Sammy.
Finally. Thanks for using also the tittle for your miniature of "Brutal path of revenge" that I proposed you.
Little homeage to everyone that enjoys these. Thank you for the suggestion. I hope you enjoy it
guys let’s come together and say 2K hoed this game by gameplay, but that story team was cooking a 5x star Michelin Star meal
Not even gameplay just its nature. The brutal take down and shooting was peaked but it was repetitive.
moreso level design rather than the gameplay itself tbqh.
The issue is the gameplay was the game. They exchanged any actual story for player freedom in how they take down the mob, which is really sad because some of the scenes are so cinematic.
Mafia 3 was my first mafia game and it was a blast to play
Granted after a while the gameplay was super repetitive pretty quickly
The story the setting the music and the city was always a blast to play through and was a extremely well voiced and acted cast
Da ding
Iirc Maguire pointed about Duvall being a klan offshoot leader and how Lincoln ended him was a good thing, so yeah, he never came across as one, but more of "It should've been me, who brought Marcano down".
How is he racist? Did you play the game? Lincoln caused so much damage and terror across the city.
Yes! I've waited for this one ever since I finished the game back in July. Thank you!
about the last conversation between Giorgi and Lincoln i think when he said he tried to kill Lincoln and the others back at the bar and said he did it for Sal i dont think he meant it in the same way as how Lincoln and Sammy would've done anything for Sal as their boss but rather he did it because Sal is his father and he loved him and would do anything to gain his Approval and affection same way Lincoln would've done anything for his adoptive father Sammy, its shown multiple times through out the game that a lot of Giorgi's action are motived by him seeking his father approval which is why he leaned so hard into the lifestyle that Sal was actively trying to pull him out of,he thought that Sal considered him weak and not capable of living the same life style as him when in reality Sal just wanted him to be safe and not waste his life away like he did it also adds some extra weight to Lincoln words when he says: "then you understand why i have to do this" in the same way Giorgi did anything for Sal Lincoln would do anything for Sammy
Gotta give 2K some credit for using Paint It Black for the betrayal scene.

However, some others that I also swapped, are "half customizable". Or at least interesting.
Man, this video is amazing. I had a lot of fun with this game, and its story was very intriguing. Great work, Cynic!

Rule Alone feels most fitting an ending, plus it fits with the ending cutscene of Sammy's being a parking lot and the priests testimony, it always seemed like he was grieving
@@chriscormac231 I'm not agree with that. Its weird, i just got into this fame last week and here you are posting this, what are the odds
Nice vid man, commenting so the almighty algorithm blesses you
Man I saw this like a week or two ago, clicked and it was some random Tesla scam. So happy you're back
You and me both. Glad the 2nd time around you werent tricked by some crappy tesla scam either. I was worried for everyone else’s protection as much as i was getting the channel back
Your underrated i loved these games gald someone broke it down do well
My first play through in like 2017ish, I loved Lincoln and his story but eventually dropped it because of the repetition.
Wait, people didn't like this game? I LOVED this game. Played it through on both PS4 and PC.
This shit was really cool, dawg. Thanks for the upload.
The scene where Lincoln kills Richie Doucet has always been so satisfying. Lincoln said "You can pray on your way up." and this time it was the Hollow that listened. *edit* I have been inspired to start a new playthrough.
You know what just because of you and your mafia videos I’m gonna play mafia 3 again 🥳
This video made me want to play the game again
I like that seen with Sal where the two men talk about their nightmares.
Linclon is just a great character a born leader taction and knows how messed up war can be
i never played this game i never got around to it but this story was amazing
Driving around making collections was my fave thkng to do lol
My second favourite character from my second favourite game series.
I never understood the hate this game got. I loved it start to finish.
I honestly never finished the game due to a save breaking bug preventing progress in the game.
Gonna have to give this game another go for sure. I never knew the story was this deep.
Is it the same bug I ran into? Where the damage for a District was complete, but I couldn't talk to the allies to activate the mission to take down the lieutenant?
@@an-animal-lover nah mine was a mission checkpoint that wouldn't progress. It was down in the bayou and the check point wouldn't progress when u walked into the area. I kept up w it for a few months but lost interest sadly when new games came out and still wasn't fixed.
@ShaggyRambo oh, damn. Really wish this game would be remastered with bugs like that cut out
Also would say the dlcs have also added to Lincoln character like signs of the times dlc his relationship with anna and her death impacted him to the point he let her be bury right next to his family Sammy Ellis and Perla Robinsons. Heck you even get reopen sammy's with lincoln's aunt Lily
Honestly, I think the only complaint I could really make about the game was the fact you couldn't get trophies for gathering the collectibles like the magazines or paintings.
I really liked the story of this game. Didn’t get repetitive? Sure. What game doesn’t? Did it have problems at launch. Yeah. And they were inexcusable. Still it was a great story and as repetitive as it was, was still fun.
Great video❤️ and man what an under appreciated game. If it just launched in a better state
Honestly this game and Rambo continue to make me hate everything about hippies
The gameplay is repetitive and I can see how it’s tedious to some, for me only trying to 100% is tedious for me, but the story is what I fell in love with because of how much emotion they bring to such an action packed story
Lincoln was a very underrated protagonist imo
hell yea, i am glad you got your account back
