Never seen anyone make a cake in this method, the eggs are not supposed to be alternated with the flour, eggs are supposed to be added to the creamed sugar and butter, BEFORE the flour touches the batter. The sour cream is considered the milk in the recipe and should be alternated with the flour, you need a full cup for this amount of flour, and no more than 3 alternations or you risk overbeating the flour and gluten will form...... these are reasons why the cake turned out sunken, didn't really rise and looks gummy in the center from being overmixed
I found that this recipe and by the way, hello how are you? It has way too much sugar for my taste. I’ve never found a recipe for poundcake with so much sugar 3 cups of sugar is way too much for my pallet. I normally like to make 1234 yellow cake And normally that has at least one cup less of sugar and I use eating less than the proper recipe because I sugar is toxic. We don’t need that much sugar in our system.
