I’m going back to time zero to rebuild my volley technique and this video makes it all so clear! Especially the timing of the weight transfer and contact. So many times I’ve mistimed it resulting in a weak fh volley. And don’t get me started on the bad advice over received in the past about punching and “stomping”! You make it all so clear with useful ways to practice.
I go from time zero everytime I play. Funny or pathetic. But explanations, exact postioning, and excellent communication skills gets me ready. Steve from Koshi City Japan. 70 years old.
God, this guy is absolutely a fantastic instructor! I’ve seen most of his videos and I never stop being impressed by his eloquence, attention to detail, and his amazing ability to make the lesson like a really interesting story! That’s it, he’s a great storyteller of a tale that you will learn great things and be super interested while he’s telling it. Extremely few instructors have that particular talent, to grab your attention like that! Let’s not forget that he’s also a great player with beautiful technique! Well done, again, Kevin!
Good you do your own videos and you left essential tennis. You are a much better coach technically then the essential tennis group of coaches. You explain things in a very clear and concise way. 👏👏👍
Awesome video, you are one of my favorite online coaches, besides Ian. LOL. I really wish you are in Texas, so I can drive to your place to have a face to face lesson. My problem is my volley is kind of weak at 4.5 level, so I can’t finish a point sometimes, power is one thing, angle is another big thing, I tend to hit my volley to the net player a lot, if the net player has a good reflex, the ball comes back again, then my partner is mad with me. Can you have a video on volley placement? One is to control the volley to place it where I want, another is spot the best place to volley to based on opponents position.
You’re the best soup to nuts technique guy for tennis on UA-cam.

Floored.
Same here, Kevin is the best teacher out of there
Hi Kevin. I was listening to you say flat and bevel. I looked up and THEN I understood that your bevel=RIDGE. Great clip.
Mate I love your humerous cuts.
I love your coaching style. Keep up the good videos.
Pushing forward. Yes. Than you sir! You’re truly amazing.
Very clear explanation. Will check this out next time.
I like the tip of extending the wrist first

Great! Can’t wait to try. Can you chair the backhand volley? Would you be concentrating on the forearm or tricep muscle?

thank you very much for less than it was great i show kids and thank you
Good advice
How can I improve my shot selection? I always end up trying to hit an aggressive shot on a ball 5 feet behind the baseline.
Are you describing a slightly different continental grip, vs one for the serve ?
On the continental grip don't the index base and the heel of the hand go both on the second bevel?
Now I can fix my volley!!
Nice video
Thanks Thomas!
good stuff
Can I ask? I want to know what your racket is??
Im like 99 percent he is using the head radical pro!
👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
Why don't you demo the shot rather lengthy talking?
