  • Concerto for 2 mandolins, strings and continuo in G Major RV 532, III. Allegro by Antonio Vivaldi
Raffaele La Ragione & Lynda Sayce, Mandolin
    Adrian Chandler, director/violin
    La Serenissima
In rehearsal at St Martin in the Fields, London UK, ahead of their concert on 23rd May 2024.
Existing alongside Vivaldi's Concerto for mandolin, strings & continuo in C RV425 in his personal collection of manuscripts, now in the Biblioteca Nazionale, Turin, the Concerto for 2 mandolins, strings and continuo in G Major RV 532 probably dates from the 1730s.
It is likely that Vivaldi wrote these mandolin concerti for the Pietà, having first used this instrument in his sole surviving oratorio of 1716, Juditha Triumphans.
