At the end of the day the NFL is a business and the organization will always do whats best for them so Cam needs to understand either take a pay cut or Retire are his options
I love Cam but three years? That seems robust based on position and injury history.
His injury history? talking out your ass much? hes had 3 injuries in 13 seasons. the locker room called him dependable for a reason. missing what 12 games in 12 years?
@@PixxelBros Heyward is awesome. No doubt. But its about snap counts too, not just dressing for the game. In 2021, he took 82% of the snaps, in 2022, 76%, last year 64%. He has had tommy john surgery, a pec tear and groin tear. He is 35 and has 14 years experience. Knowing how the steelers do business and how tough that position is in general, do you realistically think the steelers will let him complete this year and sign him to another 3 years beyond this one?

Did you think that maybe snap percentages youre speaking on are attributed to the play CALLS?! and not him personally? Cam is and will always be a beast. hes a team player. and is all about business. He has also stated for the last 5 years that he has the will and ability to continue to compete. and boy he does compete. Literally one of the best lineman. Would i sign him to another 3 years? YES. would it be for the amount he wanted? No, his value decreases because of age. but his value as a person and a player has not diminished.
@@PixxelBros "attacked"? thats a bit harsh, no? i love Cam. Ultimate team player, great leader. But i cant see the steelers signing him thru age 39. I think the route they take is more like how they handled the health miller or troy contracts. they have a specific way they approach those tenured players. converting to signing bonus and less guaranteed beyond the following year. then he can retire after next year if he wants and there is no dead cap space for the team.

Cam was one of my favorite players, but last year he was invisible, and he is 35 looking for an extension? That’s crazy, he should be happy to play out his final contract and retire with dignity, imo.
Cam is still elite, he just has to stay healthy

I would do the Bill Belechik move cut him a year early than a year late. We can draft based and inuries have taken its toll. Unless he takes a hometown discount, let him get his cash somewhere else and build the future.
