  • Quick test of Meguiars Ultimate Waterless wheel and tyre cleaner
Genuinely pretty really. Wheels were pretty dirty. Results were remarkably good for so little effort
    Thanks for watching as always

I do like Meg’s, I’ve got the “Ultimate detailing spray”, had it since last year, I give the car a once over with it every now and again. Easy on and off, and produces some nice beading for a few weeks. Waterless would never interest me, but I can see how it would be good for some people(or at car shows etc).
You made me giggle when you said mum would be out there with the pledge😂 my neighbour has been spotted attempting to wash his car using a broom and a bucket of what looked like plain water! And another time I saw him with a damp shammy leather going over the windows and bodywork, without even washing the car beforehand! His paint work is absolutely awful, unsurprisingly! I would love to go and educate him and do it for him, but I just don’t have the time.

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes. Mum always said to me “Have you seen my car?, I washed it!!”. Always scared me. I dread to think what she was using on it. Whenever I’d taken my kit over for a full pressure wash she’d be out every 5 minutes asking if I was nearly done and also “how much is this costing me” (water wise). Hence why I explored onr and also water less options. Anything to provide half decent job with far less or no water. Plan was to do onr with once. Then wet coat. Then weekly top ups with waterless just to keep on top of things.
      Thanks for watching as always.

Used this a few times along with the Meguairs Ultimate waterless wash and wax. Found it quite greasy (perhaps I used too much). But it got the face of the wheels pretty clean. Always looking for an easy to use and effective product. Will be using it again. Just purchased some ridiculously cheap microfibre cloths from Temu so will use these with the wheel cleaner and then bin the smelly, greasy cloths. Also use Optimum No Rinse for a quick wheel clean.

Hello. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I’ve only tried the wheel cleaner the once. I’ll give it a second go. I suppose it was a little moist/greasy but didn’t bother me at the time. I’ll give it a second test. I haven’t got round to trying the waterless wax yet. Is it any good? Thanks re the onr tip. I’ll try that. All the best.

Very interesting. Thank you for this.
I've been considering DIY Detail rinseless and their legacy sponge for a while now, but never pulled the trigger. So I'm going to enjoy seeing what you think of this. A request if you please. The real time saved on a regular maintenance wash v a rinseless wash. So record the time from enter shed to leave shed for both methods. Possibly even break down to 1)get stuff ready (about 20mins for me to measure out chemicals, etc), 2) wash vehicle, 3) put everything away.
And how enjoyable the experience is.
Cheers. Hopefully see the scooby back soon!

Hello. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated as always. Great idea re the timings of each process. I need to do at least one rinse less wash first though. I’ve not even tried the product yet. Have a great day mate. Take care.

Hello. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. To be honest. I was looking at waterless products so I could keep my mums car in a relatively good state without using copious amounts of water. She’s on a meter. And 83 so moans incenssantly about how much the water is costing her. So. Despite the fact I’m not a massive subscriber to the waterless options I am open to testing new products. In my opinion. If you didn’t have access to a pressure washer or lived in a flat with on street parking etc, I’d happily recommend this product for a quick and dirty spruce up that takes minimal effort.

@rev-you1975 this product will cost a lot more than soapy water.

@@mattblackledge9068 Yes. That’s a fair point. Surfex hd or ad just wheels are both pretty frugal in terms of amount required, performance and cost. A splash of diluted Perl is also a very cheap but effective tyre coating. I just couldn’t resist trying this.
