If you think about it, it's really a dual purpose machine. It's a variable wheelbase car, and if you break down, just hook the hitch of the trailer to a truck and go. That's why Red is a genius.

Impossible, Physically impossible. Half of the mods take up the entire car, others sever it in half, and some simply destroy the vehicle.
Blue 64 no modification is impossible if you're handy
It must so fun driving all the crazy shit he builds. The fact that most of his stuff actually "works", in some way, makes it hysterical!
If you read this a year later, that'd be cool; but even if some aspects of his ideas work, I'm sure a lot of it is still TV magic. I'd be really surprised if his ideas really work as well and as often and the TV makes it out to be.

There is no way that cranking on that winch would pull the trailer forward/shorten the wheelbase

When every one else has an idea they put it in an animation and ask people for money. But he builds his ideas on his own.

Everyone's talking about how crazy smart you have to be to pull this off but. He can pull this off because he's an inventor, not an engineer. It's like some God gift given to guys like Red

This guy really had some genius ideas!
There already exists something similar to this idea. Some heavy haul cargo trailers have a sliding axle to adjust the wheels to where the load is heaviest. They can slide a few feet towards the front of a partially loaded trailer for better weight distribution.
I'd like to be just like Red...right down to the suspenders!
