  • SCP-3017 is a formerly Euclid Class but now Neutralized anomaly also known as Person of Interest.
SCP-3017 is Frasier Melbrook, a male aged 25 years old at the time of initial containment. SCP 3017 is believed to have extensive ties to several anomalous groups, and is suspected of having committed multiple robberies, assaults, and murders. SCP3017 has been arrested 23 times, but has never been formally indicted. How did he get away with so many crimes? And why was the court system never able to keep him in jail or put him away in prison for life?

I've noticed that nearly all SCP entries seem to be inspired from various sources, including obvious ones like Bigfoot and myths and legends, but also including unexpected things like human experiences.
As someone that has been diagnosed being on the spectrum, I have to say, this SCP entry seems/feels like its source is in describing (hyperbolically) how it can feel to struggle with autism. Of feeling like no matter what you do, it's perceived in a bad light because of communicating and thinking differently than everyone else, and thus making them uncomfortable (at best) because of differences neither you nor they understand.
Idk. Just my thoughts and feelings on it I guess.

This might be one of the saddest SCP-Stories ever.... It's also sickening and revealing how the foundation is unable to face it's own mistakes, we've had instances like SCP-2419 or SCP-4973 where dead D-Class come back to torment the foundation for what they did but many D-Class personnel are violent criminals and may have deserved what happened to them. SCP-3017 was just a man with a condition, almost akin to a leper in a village, and they drove him to suicide because of his condition.

Many remained under the cognitivehazard effect while noticing others became immune to it and would feel the opposite. Under the effect that told them he was dangerous, and with the knowledge that too much time spent around him would make you believe he was not a criminal, the SPC Foundation's logic was to do anything to keep him from escaping and from others wishing him to leave, so they can understand why he was so dangerous. That's also why the one researcher who was able to logically prove that the man wasn't a criminal was detained as another instance of the opposite effect. Also, thinking about it, this entire story kind of reminds me of "Angel Desetsu", especially with the part about the people who became immune to the effect. I know they say prolonged exposure turns then into SCP-3017-1, but my interpretation is that they actually just become immune (or their rational thinking overrides their initial impression of him) and feel incredibly guilty and empathetic, and thus they feel morally obligated to make things right, but those who're still under the effects are so suspicious of 3017 that they interpret it as an irrational behaviour and a secondary effect of the cognitohazard
