I work for a Texas grocery store chain and we announced shortened hours today due to COVID-19. Though I am not afraid of the virus itself, I'm freaking out that everyone else is panicking and that people's jobs are being effected. OCD doesn't make that any better.
yeah, they announced some similar action at stores near me. i think the panic has a ripple effect, people are like "omg, everyone is buying bleach and toilet paper, i don't have use for that now but i need to buy it because everyone else is!!" and then it applies to more and more situations that way. my friends in china said that some monthly rent was discounted for housing and businesses, but i bet the US would NEVER. seeing other countries helping out their citizens and knowing the US is severely lacking in aid and compassion is a little scary. i imagine it's going to get worse before it gets better. stay safe!
janus lie yeahhh I passed level 4 but they want us to pass 6 before we graduate. Idk it doesn’t really make sense to have to pass AFTER we’ve already taken our classes and lived there for years because clearly we survived okay with the knowledge we had.... but what do I know🤷♀️
Haha, Pikachu meme 😂 We believe in you! You should believe in your abilities too! I often feel this way too tho... My parents and friends think I’ll pass everything and have amazing grades and it’s overwhelming sometimes... so I feel you. I’m so mad at this virus situation, it feels like being stuck and not progressing with my life at all, lol. I have no motivation and I wanted to pass HSK 5 in April... Well, 2020 is laughing at me and my plans 😅
Thank you! But yeah, I understand. Just try to keep it all in perspective... things that need to get done will get done eventually. Keep working, even if it takes a little longer than you expected. Ask of us have been kind of thrown for a loop this year and we’re only 2 and a half months in!
My OCD has been getting me really bad this week. I’ve been upset about the corona virus & basically everything getting cancelled, but it is important to put that in perspective, because as you said it is preventing more people from getting sick, and even better, saving peoples’ lives. Also, good luck on your HSK’s, Kali.
sorry to hear you're having a rough time. my ocd hasn't been too bad, as i don't typically deal with contamination issues, but i do have a problem with catastrophic thinking. that's got me worried about my family for sure and i imagine it'll get worse as time goes on. and thanks! i'll keep you guys posted about the hsk/school updates as they come in. stay safe!

why u need to take HSK again? isn't that already done before you start your major?
