    Quite impressive you did so many things in 48 hrs. Toast box or Yakun are both Nanyang style coffee. Very nice and affordable. It is the same style used at hawker centres and coffee shops but the standard varies. For consistency in standard, it is better to visit this two coffee chain. And they generally are located in air conditioned places.

    Oh yeah toast box is a good place to have a small bite, your classic SG Kaya toast, and a cup of coffee

    There's actually another really big and good hawker center steps away from the temple at 335 Smith Street. "Hidden" on the second floor of Chinatown Complex. Hawker Chan's original stall is operating there and is cheaper than the touristy restaurant.

    Great video about what to do! thank you. I have 40 hours layover don’t want to stay in the airport hotel. Can you explain process getting out and back in the airport? Thank you. Again GREAT video…

      thank you so much for the feedback! It is actually very straight forward if you want to get the train. We feature part of it in the video, but essentially follow the directions in the airport to the MRT station, take the train towards Tenah Merah and then switch towards the city centre (from memory its the platform opposite). Getting back is the same process. Also, don't forget to set some time for Jewell and the Vortex Rainfall in the airport! I hope you have a great time over there and let us know how it goes :)

    I have a 28 hour stopover/layover, I am not vaccinated and I don’t want to stay in the transit area for that long, do they allow me to enter the Jewel/other main parts of airport if I just get a PCR test before I arrive, can I get a nose swab there when I arrive?

    • @theoutofofficetraveller
      @theoutofofficetraveller  Рік тому

      I am not too sure if you are able to get a test when you arrive. However, the UK government quotes that entry requirements for Singapore that if you show a negative PCR test on arrival that should suffice. Hopefully that helps!

    No, Toastbox is just an average cafe. The reason why there may be a queue is all the tourists wanting to try something local or because it’s one of the cheaper food options in MBS. Other outlets have no queue.

      That makes a lot of sense! I guess I did not miss one of the highlights of Singapore then!

      @@theoutofofficetraveller Actually toastbox and Yakun are both premium coffee places for the common people. It is average only if you consume this style of coffee at Hawker Centres. The style is very different from Starbucks kind of coffee. Coffee is strong and bitter and can be quite sweet. But you can ask for less sweet

      Actually, many locals still go to Toastbox and Yakun lah. Heartland malls' branches of these two chains are often still packed cos it's cheaper than Starbucks etc.

      @@theoutofofficetraveller Actually coffees at Hawker centre while average, can be pretty good. Just they the environment might not be as comfortable as Toastbox and Yakun
