Those were already braking for the corner, so they had reached full track speed. I think once someone who just exited the pits gets to full track speed, it's fair to count them as a normal car.
Those cars are Cup MRs. They’re the Manthey Racing kit fitted to 991.1 and 991.2 cup cars to make them compete in the SPC7 class. It’s basically a wide body kit that makes them closer to the 991.1 R Evo including a conversion from triple outer rads to a central recessed rad, and adding TC and ABS. Same powertrain as the cup though so it’s a bit heavy and not as slippery as the cup, but still less drag than GT3, hence the similar straight line speed.
Gives a great idea of how fast like LMP1/hypercar LMP2 and DPI's are as they just eat these GT3's alive. Mad driving skills though having that much faith in other drivers.

Back in the Group C era Porsche was driving with LeMans Cars on the Nordschleife but it is extremely dangerous. But yeah ,Timo Bernhards flight to the record showed how quick these monsters are nowadays.

I do this on GT Sport all the time. Load up in a GT3 car, load Group 2 cars as opponents and see how many I can pass in a single lap. I wish I could get more than 20 cars on the track at a time.

Driving Wippermann IRL, even in just my 300hp Skyline GTS-T is an absolute riot. Easily my favorite section on the Nordschleife. Can't imagine the insanity of taking it on with a GT car.

Misha did a video on it, he exited there and other cars where just zooming by, a very unpleasant expirience.
Actually the rules at nordschleife say that you don't have to go off of your lane if a faster car comes because you are also racing. Even a blue flag doesn't mean that you have to let the faster car pass it only say caution ther is a way faster car behind you. There is also a yellow flag wich gives a speedlimit of 120km/h and a double yellow wich gives a speedlimit of 60km/h. One yellow is shown when there was a crash and double yellow is shown when there are persons on the track. If you want to race on the nordschleife you need a special license to learn all the special rules that only exist on the nordschleife. But in general you do give way for the faster class if possible
Fellow sim racers, notice he says keep your line if you’re being passed? A lot of people in iRacing whine about slower drivers “not letting them by” slower drivers even lapped traffic should hold their line and be predictable. I’ve been destroyed by good hearted drivers trying to get out of my way more than slower drivers keeping their speed and holding their line. Also I’ve ruined a few races trying to get out of the way of impatient drivers.
theres a billion classes for VLN. some of those cars are out of homologation for even that time so they may have classes for pre-2016 GT3s just like Trans Am does with XGT.

You can tell the difference between previous generation Cup and GT3R Porsche from the Rear Wing. The Cup Wing is higher than the one of the GT3R. New Generation shares the same Wing now.
While performing overtakes like those this is pretty much the equivalent of that it is imperative you keep your phone out of reach while driving and even though you're not driving a road car like a Chevrolet or maybe a Corvette, but when you're driving a GT3 car always keep your phone in the locker room before you head to the track, in other words pro tip y'all don't ever text and drive while you're driving a GT3 car, ever.
Great vid. I will say how late he braked on the Renault for the 41st overtake was a little stupid, that Renault could have slammed on the brakes a tiny bit harder or panicked seeing him come up behind.
I only counted 52 since you shouldn't have counted the car coming out of the lap and it skips ahead 1 number from 13 to 15. Still pretty impressive driving from a great driver.
i did sim for this track many times over. various platforms. not my favorite track the long sweeping straights are no advantage .its entirely too narrow having said that if you have a big tire heavy model car I find you can just steamroll your way almost the full length of the track, of course, you can't do that in the tightest of turns but if you get a sure-footed car this thing is a blast to run if your running with a buddy and the car is planted in all four corners I reiterate Tall wide tyers big fat pig of a chaise and high ponied grinder just the best way to have fun letting the weight carry the speed through. slightly heavy downforce never hurts on a track like this

There are also regular cup cars just fitted with ABS as well. They run in a separate class from the Cup MR’s
