I love this game, I can't seem to get into it again, but the feeling I had when first playing it was breathtaking. It is so immersive, the characters feel so real, and I can hear Geralt's voice in my head right now while I listen to this.
Yeah, first one has that "mythical" or... I don't know... Can't describe it, but the atmosphere is great. While W3 soundtrack is very good, one thing that I missed was that feeling of mystery, something unknown. Can't even find correct words to describe it. :P
Vitalis I know what you mean. I'm not sure how to describe it. The Witcher 1 had a Slavic theme to it. It sounds a lot more bleak than The Witcher 3 and went better with the gritty setting. It also didn't deviate too far from this theme. The Witcher 3 took place on various continents with different cultures, so the music differs in each place. So the music doesn't have a solid, unanimous theme like The Witcher 1 had.
RedShift45 Well, Witcher was never fully Slavic. Even the first Witcher game. After all, there is an Elven track IIRC. So Celtic influences are there as well. But yeah, in the end, Slavic themes in W1 were the strongest, and at the same time most memorable. The Outskirts of Vizima, the swamps, whole Chapter IV - Yeah, they are as Slavic as they can get. I think the main difference was that sense of darkness. While whole saga has that shades of gray, when you played Witcher 1 you could feel that this world is not some colourful, candy kingdom. No, this was brutal and evil world, just like ours. There are of course cheerful moments, again, like in real life, but life isn't easy. And so was Witcher 1. I think that it is also thanks to the graphics. They look dirty and somewhat realistic, while in Witcher 2 and even 3 everything is so shiny, new and colourful. Also, Witcher 2 was more focused on the big picture. Politics, fates of whole kingdoms. You had veery big cities, castles (which looked like the ones from France or England, while in the first game they took inspiration from Polish ones. Hell, Vizima itself was modeled after Cracow.) And Witcher 1 was more regional. You had only Vizima and it's surroundigs, really. And the plot itself was just about some gang that stole Witchers secrets, while the big picture was largely ignored (well, in the end we saw that the scheme was a little bigger than that, but still)... I like Skellige from Witcher 3 and that Nordic/Viking/Celtic theme about it, but it can't even compare to W1.
fun fact - this theme (rearranged) is the title theme for Witcher 3 (heard during title shots in trailers and in the main menu without expansions installed).
Witcher 1 was so much more atmospheric, mysterious and moody when compared to W2 and 3. 3 is superb but I found W2 to be lacking. It was way too short and the jte's were a pain and not befitting a true RPG. It felt more like an action RPG hybrid but thankfully the team returned to their roots with W3. Shame there are to be no more Witcher games. I hope they go on to do other epic fantasy RPG's.
Boz agreed. W1 was magic. I couldn't be bothered to play W2 more than once. W3 was great in the same vein as W1, but was lacking the atmosphere that 1 captured so well.
@@blllklbn4055 Witcher 1's music is pretty good but doesn't feel any different from the "European RPG genre" in general, the one from Witcher 3 is based on Slavic music, making it way more unique.
@@cidiose I cant agree. W1 music feel a lot more unique W3 soundtrack is using old folk songs too much, and that slavic vibe is getting annoying after some time.
Not all Witcher books are translated in bulgarian. In November 2013 in Poland there released a new book of Andrzej Sapkowski about old adventure of Geralt of Rivia- Sezon Burz (polish: Season of Storms(?) ). :D Anyway, greetings from Poland! :)
***** You mean Sapkowski? The guy hung his boots for quite some time and refuses to come back. Besides, CDPR proved they don't need him to make The Witcher amazing, in fact, they're the experts now :)
That's one of the best atmospheric music I know for any game that is out there. Witcher 3 sadly doesn't have it anymore. The music for itself isn't bad, but it doesn't always amplify the atmosphere which it is supposed to do (In my eyes) There's also not enough variety in Witcher 3 OSt given the length of the game.... Blood and Wine was great though.
Witcher 1's music is pretty good but doesn't feel any different from the "European RPG genre" in general, the one from Witcher 3 is based on Slavic music, making it way more unique.

And You have to know, W1 have very interesting story, with many (i don't know how i can describe it in eng but i try) sudden changes. I played this game many times, and for me is still interesting. Esspecially hard mode ;) Try find books Mr. Andrzej Sapkowski in Your country. Books about Witcher are much more intresting than game ;). Esspecialy from Tom III "Elves Blood" (in PL -> Krew Elfów), because from this part begins the saga. (First two tomes are just only a short stories)
cuma212 They even did a good job recreating Kaer Morhen itself in Witcher 3. I was actually kind of giddy when I saw the breach in the wall Savola had made with the Frightener was actually still there. Used to walk through it in the first game and just enjoy the view while the music was playing.

Hell, Vizima itself was modeled after Cracow.)
And Witcher 1 was more regional.
For me W3 music is more hmm "mechanic" This W1 tracks has "soul" and is full of atmosphere.
Nostalgia pura
The witcher remake. 🥰. It's still my favorite one!
Same brother
the absolute best to me
Already the first few seconds give me so incredible chills....wow...
And that music in Witcher 1 is so much better than that in 2 and 3.. Its perfect.
Agree, witcher 3 was returned to that magical atmosphere slightly, but they were powerless against modernization of the series...

Witcher 1's music is pretty good but doesn't feel any different from the "European RPG genre" in general, the one from Witcher 3 is based on Slavic music, making it way more unique.
@@cidiose I cant agree. W1 music feel a lot more unique W3 soundtrack is using old folk songs too much, and that slavic vibe is getting annoying after some time.
Beautiful music
yes...its so beautiful. I think about the moments, when Kaer Morhen's battle is over, and about the valley of Kaer Morhen... :')
The best soundtracks ever.
Yup
So glad that i read all 8 books
Greetings to mr. Andzej and CDPR and all Poles from Serbia
Slava, brothers!
I am glad that all the Witcher books are translated in bulgarian. This is the best fantasy novel that exists in my opinion.
Where can I buy one?
twlbg Откъде да купя на български,де? ;)
Not all Witcher books are translated in bulgarian. In November 2013 in Poland there released a new book of Andrzej Sapkowski about old adventure of Geralt of Rivia- Sezon Burz (polish: Season of Storms(?) ). :D Anyway, greetings from Poland! :)
I have found the books in the mall of Sofia.I think the bookstore is called "orange".Good look! ;)
Fuck George Martin is the best!
So peaceful
how I'd love a remake of The Witcher with The Witcher 3's graphics and combat system...
+deathkult It's called The Witcher 3. :P jk
And the voice acting. Good lord, fix the voice acting.
Honestly, I liked Witcher 1's combat system better.
Should it be expanded upon, that'd be great.
Geralt of Rivia had his share of the world, but we can't allow The Witcher's universe to die, CDPR has to make a new game, book, comic, whatever!
***** You mean Sapkowski? The guy hung his boots for quite some time and refuses to come back. Besides, CDPR proved they don't need him to make The Witcher amazing, in fact, they're the experts now :)
Witcher 1 is changing my life this game shaped me. And i am proud of my country origin
That's one of the best atmospheric music I know for any game that is out there. Witcher 3 sadly doesn't have it anymore. The music for itself isn't bad, but it doesn't always amplify the atmosphere which it is supposed to do (In my eyes)
There's also not enough variety in Witcher 3 OSt given the length of the game.... Blood and Wine was great though.
Witcher 1's music is pretty good but doesn't feel any different from the "European RPG genre" in general, the one from Witcher 3 is based on Slavic music, making it way more unique.
So beautiful
best version😍
The 4th book is publushed today in Hungary :)
Good for You ;)
damn good old days i miss my young ages for good events like this very much
Coming back to this after hearing the music in the show, it didn’t even come anywhere CLOSE to the tracks in the games
Hype Uprise Very true, however I still think the OST for The Witcher Netflix was great.
The Witcher world has everything, it has Sugar coated sweetest moments, and it has also the most Bitter moments... good balance. i loved that.
This is real Kaer Morhen theme. Full of atmosphere. Beautiful. That copy from Witcher 3 game is just ok ;)
usually i listening to death metal but this is so calming.... just amazing
Holy shit this is amazing... such beautiful song of epic level. I still haven't played The Witcher 1. Only TW2 and currently TW3, but I definitely need to start all over to experience the beginning story afterwards. 4:31 ---> omg.
+Gatsu You must necessarily play this game. Is so diffrent from the other games and have something strange, and this is amazing. And You have to know, W1 have very interesting story, with many (i don't know how i can describe it in eng but i try) sudden changes.
I played this game many times, and for me is still interesting. Esspecially hard mode ;)
Try find books Mr. Andrzej Sapkowski in Your country. Books about Witcher are much more intresting than game ;). Esspecialy from Tom III "Elves Blood" (in PL -> Krew Elfów), because from this part begins the saga. (First two tomes are just only a short stories)
i love they make a new version for the witcher 3 kkeping the same feeling
cuma212 Oh they did, they did good, made me so nostalgic
cuma212 They even did a good job recreating Kaer Morhen itself in Witcher 3. I was actually kind of giddy when I saw the breach in the wall Savola had made with the Frightener was actually still there. Used to walk through it in the first game and just enjoy the view while the music was playing.
They just copied this theme. they could do it in better way.. Original will be always the best ;)
I'm a metalhead, but this OST is amazing.
Sounds good. Will have to check out his books.
Better than witcher 3 version
A lot better.
4:31 man... the memories
ITS SO COOL
It's great that they play this song's melody in Geralt's theme in The Witcher 3
Wow, kawał dobrej roboty.
Великая музыка на все времена
Amazing and Beautiful :)
The greatest thing to come out of Poland
Man I love both witcher 3 and 1 kaer morhen theme
And 4:32 - too bad its so short. Amazing!
4:31 is dopeness
i told you haha watch when you hear more.
Karif Osazuwa yo I've been going ham. Played this all day yesterday. The first one is great, login the story
Karif Osazuwa lovin* *
I figured you would get into it once you started to really give it a chance. So you are playing the first one then second?
the best part yeah chills there to me ! it looks like hans zimmer!
best song from all
BEST ATMOSPHERE IN HISTORY OF VIDEO GAMES
15 years ago, eh?
It's been awhile, hasn't it? They don't make them like this anymore unfortunately.
That´s right, i usually listen to the soundtrack especially from The Witcher 1 when i read Witcher´s books :)
Love it
Mesmerizing ...
Loveed every part of The Witcher, epic music track! 2:20 - 3:10 epicness
The Witcher music >> The Witcher 3 music imo. TW3 has good songs at special scenes but most of the time you hear Velen theme over and over again while exploring the vast map.
Of course first Witcher has better soundtrack. Witcher 3 exploring soundtrack is a little joke sometimes.
2:19
i only recently started to play the witcher 1, i wasn't convinced at first then it grabbed me. I would recommend the game to everyone
Best Kaer Morhen music
