Hi Guys - I see a few comments about the dip in the dyno graph. The dip and hump after vtec is due to the length of the intake. I actually have a whole video on intake testing. With some good examples of different intake lengths. Check out the video here.
ua-cam.com/video/cPO7p3mPvlA/v-deo.html
So would the dip smooth out with vtec engagement a bit later in rpm?
shop location pls..im local and would like you to tune my 09 si
👍🏻
Thank you for not putting some goofy ass beat in the background 😭😭🤣💀🙏🙏🙌
why you type like that
Sounds good to me coming from a 9th gen owner made around my same number i’m on the same set on E85
Wheels look like 1st and 2nd gen focus alloy wheels
I like it Picasso
Enkei rpf1 I believe
@@JayGotIt23RPF-Every1* as in everyone and their mom has them
I added a Magnaflow resonator to my guys Yonala exhaust and it helped with the raspiness.
2013 pearl black 16inch Rax wheels. Painted gold. Went from stock rins 30lbs to 16. Id say the pull is 10hp all day. Cars way lighter. Light wheels an tire. RRC ported an ported throttle body RC injectors full race 3 inch downpipe 3 inch Tusudo exhaust to a vibrant resonator to 3 inch fart can. 3.5 inch custom intake threw rhe hood to vtec open air. 7200 redline put down 237. To the wheels. Factory freek! Got a k20a JDM head going on k24 block after head install. Push her to 245-250 i hope. Or just get out my 92 civic hb cx stripped, mickeys all around B18C5 block B16B head built valve cover to oil pan. 🛢 11.9 qm
Great video nick keep them coming!
Sounds great with the rbc mani and cat, the yonaka tho 🤢 q300 or full race only
what about skunk2 😢
@@phantasy2075 too loud for me
I hated my yonaka cat back.
@@TheJanz3n shi i would too. it has that b series rasp
@@phantasy2075 yeah. Rasp was awful. So was the drone. Ultimate racing dual muffler is much better.
My 2012 Si made the same horsepower on the stock intake manifold and throttle body but slightly less torque on a mustang dyno. FBO otherwise with a 3.5 short ram/cooling tube, 3 inch catted downpipe, 2.75 Invidia Q300 exhaust.
did you get a check engine light from the catted downpipe? if not, what company did you get it from
@Zoob 43 I have the secondary O2 sensor turned off so no CEL lights ever. Honestly it's not even installed because it got stuck in the last pipe 😂 it's the PLM 3 inch catted pipe.
@zoob4371 I'm running an RV6 catted DP and you will get a CEL. I put my stock tune back on for 2 weeks ( ~100 miles ), and make sure I stay under 3k rpms, the CEL won't come on. I do this to get inspected. * I do have my o2 sensor off while running my tune 99.99999% of the time.
thanks for the responses guys
@@ericmoney9734 how do you turn off your o2 sensor?
Nasty dip at 5k. Why?
Vtec placement but I could but thats my guess could also be the mods and setup
Definitely Vtec engagement
Vtec engagements requiring large amount of oil pressure to travel to the top of the crankcase
K20 type R engine swap would be nice. Already have the engine from my old 2018 FK8
@tuningbynick
Good video. Any idea what a stock 9th gen Civic Si makes on your dyno?
Ughh so many comments to make lol…
~ I agree I love these years Si’s and in four door ESP in white 🤤
~ That Yonaka exhaust is trash! I know it’s hundreds cheaper and it’s decently quiet BUT the problem is these cars get so much louder with any kind of DP and if your exhaust ain’t quality then it gets louder AND raspier and sounds like garbage
~ The Vtec engagement is way to low
Good video man! Let’s get some more of these!!
Vtec engagement is not too low, the high and low tables cross at a certain point, on 9th gens is between 4200-4800. Also 4-5k rpm is a dead spot in the power band so low engagement can help that
That yonaka exhaust is definitely holding the car back... Probably could've made a bit more power with a full race
its his dp its catted
@@m4xripper catted isnt that much of a restriction, if you switch to catless the gains will be minimal
@@zoob4371bs
Is the cat internals loose or something. Sounds awful
Its the yonaka exhaust. My buddy had one too they sound ass
@@Jkhan_17they sound pretty good on the RSX
Nice ride😮
@tuningbynick what would a stock 9th gen Si dyno at your facility?
Cool car
What do you recommend is better, K tuner or hondata?
Have a similar engine in my cu2 tsx. I've come to love it. But...I wish I had a manual, and with shorter gearing lol
Flashpro can help with gear tuning the auto trans, via throttle tuning. My cw2 rows through gears quicker than stock .
It wont be like a manual swap but if helps lol
NIIIIIIIICK
I have a 9th gen SI and I’ve been following your tuning quite a few of these and it seems like 214 is maybe not the max but the most common number for the horsepower and it’s mostly torque that’s changing between different mods so just curious what gets someone into a iron higher power band without forced induction in your opinion
Just do the same build with a catless down pipe. This car would be at 225whp instead of 215whp if it was catless
Seen the same setup make 235 on us 93 gas. It all depends on the dyno and the fuel type really
VTEC kicking caused the dip ?? Could it not be as good as the tune you have running so the ECU switched back to the tune over VTEC,
I'm talking out of my ass I have no idea how ecus and tuning works I'm a part slapper.
Wow that exhaust is terrible.
Honestly
must be ebay
naw trust it shouldnt be raspy like that i have the same catback and mine aint raspy at all.
I have the same downpipe/header and catback, and it sounds nothing like that in person. Maybe this person did a res delete or something but mine doesn’t sound anything close to the video, even though the parts are the same
So true
my first mod is going to be a cold air intake, is there one that doesnt have problems hitting the battery? seems like everyone goes with the acuity intake
Explain cus I’m confused, how is this considered “full bolt on”?there’s a lot more shit that could be bolted on lol
Fuck im not the only one noticing
You ever do e-tuning?
Boost is best for this K
Niceeed👍👍👍
I’m on a Full race catted down pipe , Injen cold air intake and a Hondata Base Map . (2013 Civic SI sedan) . Where do I go from here ?
410 rdx injectors
Rbc intake manifold
70mm throttle body
Aye brooo tune my car for me gang 🙏 2015 Honda civic si 9th gen
Do rbc swap worth it?
What front lip is that? I like it
From ebay I have one for sale but I'm in PA
CS type front lip / type A
12-13 si Coupe are better
💯👍
Wheel specs please?
Can you recommend a good exhaust for a 2019 Acura ILX aspec??
Full race. Tried to put a yonaka on my 2022 and it doesn’t fit. After hearing it in this video, I’m very glad it didn’t fit.
Nice video, only thing is Exhaust sounds awful
Whats up with the big dip in power?
vtec engagement
My brother’s 2012 SI made 223 with just a down pipe and this si that is FBO just made 214
Different Dyno, different numbers.
I call 223 cap
I made 190whp with aem intake and rv6 downpipe it all depends on the dyno
Inflated dyno
Nice rpf1s what’s the fitment?
1:20 he goes over it in depth
@@don_huzan oh ! 😅
@@Pi114r ✌🏼😀
Cool platform, top of engine sucks compared to k20z3 in 8th gen.
17's are too small
Anyone else cringe when your heard the buzz on decel?
Comment
These 9th gen are a joke.
Can I share my dyno run with you? My 9th hen made 230
how did you get 230 whp?
My brother’s 2012 si made 223 with just a down pipe
@@bradley_fb6si525 intake/dp/3” exhaust/stock RBC mani with stock injectors on 93 pump gas. Nothing more. All my k’s make around the same. My k20a2 made 227 and my mugen right now makes 231 same mods.
Looks like it was still pulling at 7500. Could have revved it out more.
