This is why I hate when people call NBA player trash just because they aren't superstars , every NBA player is their for a reason hard work and determination , they just need a time to shine !

Exactly, everyone who got to be a professional deserves respect, and just because they are not the best in the entire world doesnt mean they are bad, they would destroy 99 ot of 100 normal basketball players in a game in 1v1 even if they arent dominant in the nba, they are still extremely good, even the bench player who plays only trash time.

The spurs are still going to be a playoff team for the next 10 years because of Kawhi and people like Jonathan Simmons, Kyle Anderson D-Murray

I've seen Murray in real life before the draft, watching him now, he seems like he has a lot of potential. in the elimination game against Houston, he had 11pts, 10rebs, 5 assists in 22 minutes.

    This in inspiring af...
Though this could've probably all been avoided if Simmons had higher grades in highschool. Considering his environment growing up I can't blame him though. But had his grades been higher in HS, he would've not had to play JUCO league in Paris and would've been able to play 4 complete years in D1 Basketball and most likely gotten drafted. But I guess it doesn't matter now because now he's the talk of the town and making 1000x more money than most of us.

This is what makes the Spurs possibly the highest quality organization the NBA has ever seen. The Spurs look first for players who are coachable and have good character and who work hard, instead of just looking for the top names. They invest time in developing their young players, and the results speak for themselves. The last top draft pick the Spurs have had was in 1997 with Tim Duncan. They have had low draft picks ever since, and have had more success than teams with many number 1 overall draft picks. Look at their track record, they developed Manu Ginobili, who was previously unknown into an all-star. They turned Tony Parker from a D-League player into an NBA Finals MVP. They took the overlooked guy named Kawhi Leonard and turned him into a Finals MVP, back to back DPOY, and one of the top 5 players in the world. I guarantee the same thing will happen with Jonathan Simmons, and the spurs will be a top team for decades to come

thats why spurs are so good. they doesn't stick to see whats only in the nba draft, or in college, like the rest of the nba teams does. the spurs are willing to open their eyes in other countries or in potential unknown players that the other nba teams would have never think about.

it's gonna be difficult for SA to retain J.Simmons coz he's likely gonna get big offers from other teams in free agency. Kent Bazemore got $70 mil/ four years contract last summer, J.Simmons can get more..

Halhal Sato He's entering his prime and with four children, He's gonna consider leaving SA for a bigger contract. the spurs can retain him though but I don't think J.Simmons wants to get paid lesser money than what other teams offer

Slomo J.Simmons could sign a new contract with SA worth approximately $50 mil./ four years (same amount of money Tyler Johnson got when he resigned with the heat) if the spurs get lucky. but there's possibilty of J.Simmons taking more money to join other teams that offer him more

He is one of the rare people who went the G league try-out route and made it big. I saw a lot of videos here in youtube saying that the G league try-outs are just a way for the G league team to earn money. One guy said that there are only two people conducting the try-out and there are hundreds of them. How are they supposed to spot all the good players with just the two of them?
Then G league teams are composed of only 10 players. Seven players usually are retained from the previous year and two spots are for rookies in the NBA that need more experience. That leaves only 1 spot for the hundreds if not thousands of people who came out for the try-out. Then there is also the G league draft. That one spot might even be filled in that draft. So no one from the try-out will make it to the G league. They just donated money to the G league team.

He's also the only guy who showed up to play for the Spurs tonight. Coach Pop said "there's Jon, then there's everybody else." Craziest story I've heard since Jeremy Lin. But even Jeremy Lin was scouted heavily (all throughout high school) and received offers to play in the D-league and summer league. And technically he came straight to the NBA out of college. But I've been looking all over the internet and I can't find a single pre-NBA scouting report for Jonathan Simmons anywhere. The dude didn't even exist. But watching him play over the course of these playoffs, I honestly think he's the best SG on the team, and he deserves to start over Danny Green, especially after Manu retires this season. His 3-ball needs work though.
