Remember seeing the 1989 or 1990 version on TBN, I think it was?? We loved it so much My mom ordered the VHS and I just recently recorded it to a DVD to preserve it. It's one of our favorites to watch at Christmas. 😊

dougconley That’s great! I love all 44 versions of the production! It’s a wonderful production family to be a part of! If you watch 1989, look for the curly-headed little blonde boy helping decorate a small tree... that’s me! :)

@@SpectroMagical Cool! I'll look next time we watch. 😊 Always wondered what has become of some of the folks and featured singers in the program.

Thank you for loading these highlights. The songs featured are what I remember especially loving about the Singing Tree--No Room, Special Delivery, I Have Seen the Light, It Is Finished. Focusing on the true meaning of Christmas.

Ian, you're awesome for putting this up! They need to make a new version that includes the last 18 years. Ha!

When Jim Whitmire was at Bellevue, the choir had choral excellence. It is so sad to see how Steve Gaines has totally dismantled everything Jim Whitmire had done. This year's singing Christmas tree was absolute garbage!

These productions are so corney. The Gospel message does not need to be dressed up with lights and fancy clothes to give it meaning. These silly performances just cloud the Gospel message and make it look like a joke to the world.

They got to being doing something right to attract hundreds of thousands of people over the years and have tens of thousands to RESPOND to the Gospel.

SIMPDUDE Not everything packaged as the Gospel is The true Gospel. Matthew 7:21. Romans 10:2. Where does the Bible say that you are saved by 'Inviting Jesus into your heart' as Bellevue claims a person is saved? It has always been strange to me that Baptist call themselves 'Baptist' but don't believe that baptism has anything to do with salvation. 1st Peter 3:21.

SIMPDUDE If you don't share the FULL Gospel then the message being given is not true love for souls.

snbennett1972 It's christians/church goers like snbennett1972 that's turned me off from going to church years ago, and it's his/her type of comments that reaffirms it. I did attended church most of my life and even Bellevue for 6 months when I was in the military stationed in Memphis. But it's reading and hearing comments like that person, that's weakened by faith.
This is Bellevue's Christmas pageant/celebration, it's not how they conduct their usual services. Yes, it's a way to celebrate, worship and entertain, but it's mainly a way to get people to come to church that usually wouldn't (since many non-believers aren't appealed at first to coming to a stereotypical preaching service), but this gives churches with these pageants the opportunity to present the gospel, which is done at every performance and opens the door for non-believers to want to return and learn more.
The participants practice for months and this is one of their many ways of discipleship. Watching clips of their pageants from the last few years, you'll notice literally HUNDREDS of high schoolers and youth participating. Those kids could've been doing something else like video games, tv, etc. instead of all the hours they rehearsed to put on the 8 or more shows every December. Additionally, where can you go now days to watch any Christmas performance or carolers that sings songs about Jesus? Can you turn on the TV and watch anything celebrating Jesus during the holidays?
SHAME ON YOU as a Christian snbennett1972 for coming on a secular sight (youtube) and making comments about people singing and praising Jesus. Regardless what you think is a "corney production" your comments contribute negatively on all those, adults, youth, children that are in these pageants singing and praising Jesus. Do you really find it necessary to comment just because you don't like way they're presenting the gospel? Is what they're doing by putting on this pageant wrong?

snbennett1972 If you sat under the teachings of Dr Rogers, you would know that Baptism is an integral part of salvation, provided it comes AFTER repentance and accepting of Christ as your savior.
