THE KINGTONES was the first doo-wop group to achieve great success in Japan. “Good Night, Baby" was released in 1968 and was a huge hit.

THE KINGTONES actively collaborated with younger musicians as they aged, and ended their career when their main vocalist, Masato Uchida, passed away at the age of 82, in 2019.
