That tax write-off thing they always claim is such bullshit lol, they’re completely abusing their audience’s financial illiteracy to defend their purchases.
Claiming something as a business expense allows you to use pre-tax dollars to buy it, instead of post-tax dollars. The net savings is the Purchase Price / (1 - Marginal Tax Rate), which in the US for corporations is usually around 26.5% IIRC (assuming they registered in a 0% state Corp. tax place if they care so much about tax efficiency)
The retail price for an Urus is ~$250k, so they effectively are “saving” $90k vs. buying it like normal (since they’d have to pay $90k in taxes on $340k to have $250k left for purchasing it through their business)
What they leave out, is that they could just buy basically any other vehicle on the market and write it off instead. Ever notice how huge vehicles have gotten over the last decade or 2, and how 4-door sedans and hatchbacks have gone extinct? It’s because of this exact tax loophole. Most vehicles you can buy these days qualify for writing off in a business.
Let’s be generous here, and assume that last fact isn’t true. The average new vehicle in June 2023 sold for $66k. If they don’t take the write-off advantage, that’d cost them basically $90k in Pre-tax profits on their business. Instead of spending $90k, they decide to blow $250k on a Lambo Urus, only to turn around and claim “this was the smart decision financially” to their audience. In reality, they spent $160k more than necessary, just so they could avoid $90k in taxes…. and have a Lambo.
It’s pretty clear that money is a non-factor in this decision, it’s just a post-hoc “justification” they hope no one thinks too long about.
---
I also think it’s extremely telling that of all the models to get, they consistently pick the meekest one. It’s like they’re desperate to make their lives exciting, yet allergic to any risk. The Urus is truly the Soccer Mom’s Lambo
Wrapping your 911 around a telephone pole going 200? Now THAT’s cool 😎
Wow... What a waste of money
They are influencers, in a way it was smart, they are like cartoons and need a cartoonish ride!
“4 door sedans and hatchbacks have disappeared” what? They’re all over the streets, it’s rare to see a 2 door.
They don’t mention that the IRS isn’t going to allow the full deduction if at all. A business expense must be “ordinary and necessary” and they’re not using this for business purposes. They get the lambo and an audit!
literally just the fake wanna be p*ssy versions of the classic music stars
I liked your bits on the overproduction section of the video. The idea of an “elite civil class war” with the lower classes being used as pawns in some great game of elites seeking to take the resources/positions of other elites is something I see all the time in my history studies, but nobody notices is still happening.
Gangs are run by old money billionaire families who you don't hear about. Cities are controlled the way they were during ancient Rome
"Babylon wages war on Babylon" is a quote that comes to mind. The whole thing was realy well explained in this video though
@@Daddy_Skeletor so that's what that trollgy meme meant
Some of us notice and fight against it but the majority of us don't and majority usually rule.
I think most people notice just people are comfortable even in their poverty and mistreatment. The truth is most people realize lots of people have to die and/or the change their working towards won’t come in their lifetime. They’d rather take a more guaranteed life of small wins than the possibility of the risk associated with the big one.🤷🏾♂️
I always thought the Urus is a great metaphor for our current cultural zeitgeist: it's loud and hideous, but people still dream of owning this car because it's expensive and extravagant
Saw one yesterday it was quite beautiful
I think it’s a really nice looking car and my car doesn’t even have a muffler on it but there’s still something that irks me about cars in that price range. I’m not a socialist but materialism is so gross to me.

Corvette,dusenberg rings a bell.
That's subjective... but I understand what you're saying. If you're not into cars there's no point in owning an Italian V8 super-suv...
I'm a car nerd and an Lamborghini fanboy/Apologist but the Urus has always been funny to me, if you want to be extremely petty it's just a Volkswagen Touareg with extra bits on it, they're really not that special especially considering how the Audi is basically the same except without the "fancy" Italian name. It's a fine vehicle but most who drive it are those that want to be noticed at all costs. The next financial collapse is going to be...lit. lol
No 10 yo boy has a poster of an Urus on their wall. I had Countach, Diablo, Gallardo, and Murcielago posters growing up. Stupid and impractical burdens that are only a detriment in one's life. That's what a sports car should be, it's a work of art. The Urus' popularity is a product of the status mind virus.
@artchad unfortunately there's probably a ton of kids with Urus' on their walls now, like you said a true Lamborghini/Ferrari/ McLaren, etc. needs to be childish and cartoonish insane. They should be like an extremely hot and high maintenance s/o, where everyone including yourself know that it's toxic but you say," It's fine, I can fix them" lol
How much do you think it should be worth based off Urus Build
It's actually an Audi Q8 with a tune...
Clearly you don't know anything about cars because the performance is nowhere near the Touareg. cmon kiddo. More comparable to the base of an Audi Q8, Don't be a hater because you cannot afford one

There surprisingly lots of young people who are infact aware of this economies movements, I as a 21 year old try to get the word out to other young folks
Things are definitely getting insane economy wise and geopolitically
SUV's in general are a sign of the ever growing egos of the modern world. Station wagons do the exact same thing, yet nobody buys them since they won't be able to tower over the lower beings in LA traffic.
I would gladdy buy a sedan but fuck since 2007 all of them had ultra low ground clearance and the potholes in my city are bigger, thats why i bought a trailblazer with tall tires and steel wheels
Yep, SUVs are just symbols of wastefulness bought by people that need to feel rich and important
SUVs are very overrated
I think you can also see this effect when it comes to housing production. The vast majority of land in new developments is dedicated to "Luxury" single family structures, while only a comparatively small amount is dedicated to "affordable", multi-family structures. I'm by no means poor, I'm 28 own a business and in the top 1% of income earners in my age bracket. Even then trying to find a home that was affordable, and semi-detached was a fucking mission, and that's primarily because that market hasn't existed in a serviceable level since the 1980's recession. Every new development is overwhelmingly single family homes selling for 10-15 times the median salary, targeting the established upper and upper-middle class, with overpriced condo's as the "affordable" option.
Pretty sure there's a loophole there too. I remember reading something about building large numbers of affordable units not making financial sense even though it would be what the market demands.
@@ChucksSEADnDEAD Building anything can make financial sense as long as you can sell it for a profit. I'm sure in some area's where land supply is low and the ratio of land price to average income is crazy (DT Vancouver, Manhattan...etc.) it becomes harder to make a profit. Induced demand is also probably going to become a thing. But no matter what, if you double the amount of housing in an area, you're going to make that area more accessible.
I think it has more to do with red tape then anything else. In most cities, building anything but single family outside of the downtown core is difficult. And once you've built single family, the odds of you being able to acquire the property, community support and zoning to build something more dense is expensive and time consuming. This dramatically reduces the profitability of affordable housing.
My wifes family develops property in Vancoucer. Even if you own the land, it can take over a decade to get building permission for a high density developments. Meanwhile, interest, taxes, lobbying and legal fees are eating a hole in your profitability and there's a solid chance you won't even be able to build what you want. Even if its not affordable high density, the residents still don't want it because they are afraid of property values going down, "poor's" moving in and their back yard losing some of their morning sun. That's why you typically see more affordable housing built in city centers, suburbs or defunct industrial areas. Its hard for residents to argue a building will be disruptive to their way of life if the residents don't exist or are already living in high density housing.
I also heard that a lot of big companies are buying up lots of land to rent it out, forever.
@JohnD-zh9st It somewhat depends on your market, but in general, the main owners of rental properties are your average middle-aged couple. The kind of people that have done decently well for themselves and either upgraded homes, or bought a rental as an investment. Generally big real estate investors do the same, but they don't really intend to hold it forever. They're generally trying to profit by charging more for rent than they're paying on the loan, with the goal of selling or refinancing it when the house appreciates. One of the things thats driving increases in rent is the feds hiking interest rates, the higher the rate, the bigger the interest payment, the bigger the payment the more landlords need to charge to pay their bills. Hopefully, these hikes will force a sell off, bringing down home prices.
@@JohnD-zh9st yea i heard like 80-90% of my cities rentable homes are owned by 1 company, idk how true it is tho. might've been a specific type of home like apartments or something.
Sisyphus55 did a podcast episode with a professor explaining marx and a little bit of hegel and stuff, but the most interesting part in my opinion was that he described how the current system is showing flaws it is consistently failing to address, like that polarisation, lack of empathy, reduced social mobility and larger concentrations of wealth, rising tensions between countries, etc. And it just falls hand in hand with this analysis. And it kinda fills me with this feeling of doom, that i think the brazillionaires think they can buy their way out of the apocalypse.
Great video and I'm an advocate for more general autismo
They are already trying.

Thanks for recommending the podcast. I often feel helpless about how dystopian things got in a few years and how paralysed we are reacting to a post-pandemic world
The minute I knew zhit was fooked was when I tried to discuss wine, at a fancy dinner party my friend invited me to, who made it big and didn't forget his pleb homie. We were having wine, hence the subject matter, and one of the attendants was braggartly informing us how wonderful his wine cellar was.
I asked if he was a Sommelier. I knew this because I used to be one of those kids who enjoyed reading through the encyclopedias and dictionaries at the library, during lunchtime, very much. Of course he didn't know what it meant. Matter of fact. He insisted I must have made the term up, to which the rest of the newly minted tricenarian elites agreed and insisted that it is merely called a wine expert. I kept quiet, from years of experience failing to have illuminative dialogue with a MULTITUDE of people, and just proceeded to enjoy the wine.
As the night was concluding, after an evening of being treated like a leper, more so especially by the ladies, one of the guys approached me as I was preparing my 83 Daihatsu hooptie to disembark. He informed me that I was right, which I concurred to, and we spent the remainder of the time discussing philosophy and various other subject matters.
This was one of the many times I noticed that the rich are seldom just fortunate to stumble into their fortune. Didn't know what to do with that wealth, except boast. And that no matter how much currency you have, you can never buy class nor respect. Maybe reverence, but not respect.
@@StrigidaeStrigiformes-sv6mjAbsolutely correct, im 25 and I havent made it yet like many of peers but seing said peers have no knowledge what to do with their new money so they just buy cars, expensive clothes, clubbing and travel (justified) and just spend their money. Hi Art Chad, in my opinion, the quality of your content is consistently increasing, I love it and I wish you the best for the future. It was also really fun to see you and the completely neurotypical Jreg collaborate :)
The problem I see with the circular history theory is that there hasn’t been a period in history where we value intangible information that can be made infinitely, or in simpler terms software, storages of intangible information. We also have never been able to communicate at a level that we are at now. Personally I think that history used to repeat in cycles but the scary part to me is I think we’ve displaced ourselves into a new potentially more dangerous cycle off globalization and degradation of individual culture whilst also having our brains constantly exploited daily.
We'll know soon enough. Depending on how young you are you'll be living through a massive period of turmoil as the board game called society is flipped over and the game pieces are shuffled into new hands. Enjoy the decline. 😄
That model is kind of flawed in many ways. For example it completely forgets WW1 was a thing
Yes, we do live in the age of information, but of what use is information about past cycles if current leaders of our world dont act on them? It's not us making the decisions. Younger and better informed generations do not have a lobby fighting for their interests. Further there are still some fundamental flaws like a monetary system based on debt and the human nature itself. 99,99% of people will always put their own well being over everything else, like "why sacrifcing my best years or my last healthy years to change the system?". Theoretically humanity could solve every single known problem within a year if we would work together and be selfless. The problem is, it goes against our nature of saving energy and focus on self-preservation. Not saying it's impossible to prevent, but modern civilisation will very likely get reset at least one more time until we learn. Things didnt worked out when life was comparatively simple, nowadays life is so absurdly complex, we cant even predict the near future like 1-2 years. Another thing that´s new: we have single points of failure - lots of them like nuclear escalation, tipping points in the global climate system, Super AI take over - all points that are not allowed to happen, not even once - but it most likely will given enough time passing. There is a reason why the rich are building bunkers like never before, better prepare. I did, at least mentally. It´s very easy to flee into distraction, to get lost in the business of life and that´s vicious, because it let´s you forget about the true nature of life until it hits you.
The thing I always found funniest about the Lamborghini Uterus (yes I know it’s Urus), is that it’s literally an Audi RSQ8 for double the price. If you put one up on a lift, literally everything underneath has Audi or Volkswagen stamps on it.
One thing I’d like to add is the episode of the Simpsons where that new guy that worked really hard in the powerplant kept getting undercut by homer. Eventually he lost his mind and grabbed some power rails. I spent 12 years grinding on a high tech startup that was set to compete with the traditional automobile. Now 12 years later I’m finding the odds are extraordinarily stacked against me because of the industry I entered. They promote useful idiorts using get rich quick schemes to keep people from focusing their efforts on disrupting established industries. If I knew this I don’t think I would have changed anything; the product I developed is well worth it’s weight in gold.
When you see people that should be at the bottom of society with "money", you know stuff will hit the fan soon
What made others group deserve their wealth? The only other part of American History that I could think of wealthy is that of 1800s southern slave owning morally evil mega mansion owners which I would think deserve to be at the bottom of society. Or in France of a similar time period where they just fuck over the lower class much more than any streamer does, even the ones who have done scummy crypto scams.

Love the video, however as one of your described car autists I do have one little gripe with how you call the LM002 a past failed attempt at a Lamborghini SUV (point being that they tried to market such a ridiculous luxury vehicle to a market back in the 80s that didn't work, it worked now and point is absolutely valid, just not for this particular vehicle, I'm sure there's other examples out there that exist), the LM002's purpose was directed towards an existing luxury off roader market made by the Range Rover. Also something to note is that the LM002 is a conversion of a failed military vehicle, it's reason for production was likely partially recuperation of lost funds developing the platform as opposed to rebadging an existing SUV as the Urus is now. Love the video, can't wait for the next part.
it being a military vehicle def makes more sense.
9:20 tbh your not wrong. There has been a huge influx of violent riots and protests since 2020. On both side of the political aisle. The burning of city blocks or the take over of government buildings are starting to be worryingly uncommon
I've always wondered why these new rich people spend their money on toys instead of soldiers
Yeah I'm definitely confused by that you'd think they'd cut straight to consolidating power
When you buy soldiers, someone else could just offer them more money.
The smart ones are spending them on soldiers. PMCs, bunkers, farm land, seed vaults, etc. They just aren't broadcasting it to the public; but an observant few see the shifting tides. 👀Eyes peeled, enjoy the decline. 😄
They genuinely don’t understand why anyone could resent them for any reason, and beyond that they seem to assume that the cops will just look after them (which isn’t necessarily incorrect)
Maybe the problem isn't the new rich, maybe the problem is just the rich.
The rich just need to be a little bit less rich and the poor need to be a little bit less poor
guess what, you can't fight human nature and the inherent inequality in life, the ones that try to sell you a solution are people drooling for power that inevitably ends with mass suppression and murder of it's own citizens... Wonder who that is, thank god i don't live in Venezuela or China

The attempt to avoid elite overproduction is why we have to sit with this ridiculous student loan terms.
Though it only fucks with the system more, since those who own the business become richer, the banks, the universities(just not the professors), while those who are already rich don't really lose momentum due to tuition, the middle class gets sucked down just to stay competitive.
Student overproduction is a whole other problem. A person should be able to support a middle class family without a university degree.

@@darthowen77 I don’t see too many people starting in America due to how much food we produce domestically so we won’t be suffering nearly as bad as the rest of the world on that front. I also don’t things perpetually getting worse. When shit starts hitting the fan things will probably get worse and worse until the main fighting is over and then things will get better as the population is used to the new reality and the worse of the fighting is over leading to a new baby boom and loads of vacant properties making housing affordable
@@sw3783 depopulation will be the main thing starting problem but wars almost always lead to baby booms and I think that the reason birth rates are declining are due to contraception and world peace. In the event of a major civil conflict and the collapse of global trade birth control will be harder to find so when the war ends we will get a new baby boom
Capitalism requires and enforces poverty. Those cycles your talking about, those are the boom bust cycles of capitalism.
Poverty is artificial. We could provide food, housing, healthcare, education and transportation services to all and it would pay for itself EXPONENTIALLY and that would still be capitalism!
This would end poverty overnight, and then we could end capitalism because why don't you get do vote for your boss? Why do the people who don't work make their money by owning and poor people have to work for a living?
We are workers we should get to own and run the businesses with DEMOCRACY, not like a mini kingdom where your boss doesn't do anything and takes all the money you and your coworkers generate.
Also ps. If you work at a store and you see someone steal something, especially food or baby stuff, no you didn't 👌
yes exactly ! 🤝
That is false. Housing in demand is concentrated around cities which are limited in space. You can't just dynamite all buildings and build new taller ones in a timely fashion. We produce food for the entire world but there's issues with distribution. Until teleportation becomes commonplace you can't just sebd perishable goods to the middle of nowhere.
Healthcare systems around the world are already stressed. There's just not enough qualified personnel and the lack of compensation is driving doctors to the private sector. None of it would pay for itself.
"Poverty is artificial. We could provide food, housing, healthcare, education and transportation services to all and it would pay for itself EXPONENTIALLY and that would still be capitalism!".
Did you vote for Andrew Yang during the 2020 US Presidential election?
@@roadent217 no, I'm trying to fix humanity not make it worse lol
@@smileyp4535 ...and here it is. When a politician wants to distribute to everyone a thousand bucks each, noting that doing so would strain and inflate the US government's budget almost to its maximum, for you, it's "making humanity worse". Yet I'm supposed to believe that, with such a severe financial constraint, somehow "We could provide food, housing, healthcare, education and transportation services to all and it would pay for itself"? Nonsense.
I have multiple sclerosis
I have to seek out other forms of existential dread because having a fatal brain disease isn’t scary enough
Phenomenal content. Thanks.
We're all about phenomenal content here at ArtChadINC
I HATE SUVs I HATE SUVs I HATE SUVs
Unfortunately we will never be able to stop the cretins who like them
Being a millionaire and owning an SUV is already dystopian enough
First time and I’m really amazed on you shit talking. Already suscribe!
And and another phenomenal piece!
Save the middle class!
Idk man, I for one think the economy is going good, I think its more to do with the fact that people on social media get depressed when seeing people flash money. I know I have felt that way which is why I stopped following a lot of these "brag-streamers" that the only personality they have is that they are rich
If we go back about 120 years or so, Torstein Veblen used the term "Conspicuous Consumption" in his book The Theory of the Leisure Class
Subscribed because this video is fucking great! Keep on keeping on🎉
There's no secret really, this has been foreseen by and old beardy in Germany in the 19th century, in a work that is to this date the most reliable and accurate in predicting and describing capitalism, i think you would like him quite a lot! And despite historically revolutions or economic collapse tend to break these cycles, with today's standard's of industrial production and technological advancements led by profit , the next cycle could end with the world, not with a bang but with our whimper.
Like a doomsday cult predicting deadlines for the rapture. You people have done enough damage.
@@ChucksSEADnDEAD Yeah predicting social unrest is really is a uncanny and satanic thing to do. I heard every global warming believing scientist is out to get ya
Homie, I love your content, but historical cycle theories are decidedly NOT a hot topic in history. Both social evolutionism (championed by Marxists, primarily) and historical cycle theories popular in the 70s are basically debunked in academic circles. There are so, so, so many exceptions to any “overarching theories of history” that even more robust theories like geographic determinism don’t hold water. I’m sorry to be a buzzkill, but cyclical history just doesn’t hold water
I tend to agree. Elite overproduction can't be ignored and neither can wealth inequality but what happens next is unknowable. I like what Turchin is doing by trying to give history a scientific revolution but I'm extremely skeptical. Predicting the future is just so DOPAMINERGIC!!!!
Lol the best we can do is predict a future that suits our present needs. The future is a myth that we need to believe in to give our lives meaning@@artchad
