I just ordered samples! I've been using Convatec moldable 2 pc system, but I've been uncomfortable. Likely my fault, but I've been having more leaks lately and I am experimenting with some of the bags i have on hand as samples and I'm ordering some too. It sux when you lose confidence in your system or your body.

I'm so excited to try a new seal - my current ones work, but they definitely make my skin feel super gross!
I got to go to the wound care center finally. The nurse was great in helping me to find something that might work for me. Am in the trial phase to see how long I can wear it. I get it my surgery includes as 12 inch incision. Today the surgeon opened it up - took out a lot of fluid and packed it with tons of packing. So am dealing with working around the incision as well. I have learned so much watching your videos. Thank you for posting them. My difficulty is a stoma that is quite recessed. So have been exploring all the convex options.

I went to a meeting today from secretary. The black bags you can get on a prescription from any insurance. We in the UK don't pay for ostomy supplies but I thought it may help you.

First I would like to thank you for what you are doing and how open you are with your ostomy journey. I have had my ileostomy for 15 months its is very high output of liquid, I drink water like its going to run out. I add to my pouch Diamonds from Ostomy Secrets to help thicken the output and they work sometimes. My GI doctor has me on Loperamide 8mg 3X a day, and Banatrol and taking both of those it barley does anything. Do you have any recommendation. Thanks
Does your skin get irritated from being covered all the time around the stoma? Do you ever try to let the skin air out? I don't have IBD I just find your videos fascinating!
Not really! Ostomy flanges are made out of a material that tries to keep the skin in check!
@@LetsTalkIBD Where tehe fabric security flanges are integral to the moldable convatec wafer has started to show up dry and itchy. I suppose I could try the powder.
@@dyskoverwhat do you use to clean your stoma when you are showering? I use Cetaphil cleanser and it works great to keep the irritation at bay! I also found out I'm allergic to latex which means eating certain foods causes skin rashes! I can't eat bananas, avocado, kiwi & cherries anymore as they have the same chemical compound as latex! Would've saved myself 2+ years of skin/stoma issues if I knew beforehand!
