    I first read this at about age ten. Forty-five years later, I still cannot read it without tears flowing.

    @percentum4 I do believe! My niece (now 25) was introduced to Millay in her school. America has some appreciation for the written word -- not everyone is glued to reality TV!

      It’s strange, she’ll be 38 this year and I found her when I was 17, and one day I’ll be 33 and someone will find her at the same age as me.

    We in the Bronx play this heartwarming verse every Christmas, it rivals anything Dickens ever did.
