Well done for persevering Tori especially when you are feeling a bit melancholy - my wife swims in the sea every day (conditions permitting) and the effect it has on her anxiety and mood is quite remarkable. You are inspirational in the way you manage to bring positivity from a very personal visit to a special place and I hope your enthusiasm encourages others to give cold water swimming a try. The sadness in your eyes was like looking into a mirror when I lost my first dog, she lost her battle 2 weeks after I lost my father, I was 10 years old, was Miss Nancy your first dog, how did you and Miss Nancy come together?! So glad you found such a fab place for a wild swim, the feeling from a natural pool nestled within moss covered granite boulders that time forgot, fed by a restless stream must have been completely dreamy! I’ve always felt cold water helps heal the mind, I didn’t know about the vagus nerve pathways though... Your spirits looked much lifted after the nice cold swim, just imagine a super cold shower! 😂 Thank you as always for beautiful heartfelt videos...
that’s awful that must have been a. terrible time for you. Miss nancy was my first dog yes. I adopted her from a rescue, she kept resting her head on my shoulder so that was that 🥰 I love how you described it, Dartmoor is so like that! the spirits were lifted, I should probably try the cold shower I know every says you get the same feeling I just can’t bring myself to do it 😅 I’m glad you liked the video ☺️
@@missnancysdayoff it was the worst, her name was Jo and she was a Kelpie, her name was my first word, there wasn't a time when we weren't together, then she was gone. I buried her in the garden in a hole I dug my self, not long after a bedraggled little Jack Russell (named him Jack, so original) came along and saved the day then a Kelpie and more Jack Russells and more Kelpies, there's just so many in need. That's so beautiful, they sure know how to tug the heartstrings don't they 🐾❤ I hope so much soon your circumstances allow you to adopt another dog or two! Thanks! 😄 If one day you do try a cold shower maybe best not to do what I did on my first go, imagine looking directly into a scolding torrent, mouth wide open (singing) flipping the tap to full cold, the feeling to take a deep breath irrepressible, coughing, spluttering... Oh no cold showers are different to immersion, they're more intense, maybe take it little by little if you do give it a go ☺
Nearly fell in ! 4.55 😁 Balance of a Ninja :) I know this season's good for cool knitwear, bobble hats etc but yeah, like you, the grey demeanour, the wet & cold, lack of sunlight ☀️ :( Mood definitely dips. Bravo for braving that dip in that river 🥶 "Pointy face" ? Looks mighty fine to me. Certain that things will fall into place for you eventually gorgeous free spirit 🦋 Thanks for sharing Have a Awesome day Tori 🤍 ❄ ☃️ 🐿
Thanks, Tori, for posting this. It's good to see you get out for a stroll and swim despite being down. I've struggled often myself. Good info about the vagus nerve and cold water.
Love your vids and your sounds dig deep Tori going thru a crisis myself know the feeling but chin up and stay focused you are doing the best thing getting out and about and great to hear you are going to get a new companion at some point. Another great watch take care.
Hi Tori, Dartmoor is a rugged landscape, especially when the sky is grey and the clouds hang low. Here in the Lüneburg Heath, we have similar stretches of land that can sometimes evoke a sense of melancholy. But with your smile, you make even Dartmoor bright and welcoming. I still occasionally shed a tear when reminiscing about my previous two doggy family members, and they passed many years ago now. It's difficult, and my heart goes out to you. She had THE BEST life with you, and now you carry her in your heart, forever intertwined, for all future adventures that come your way. She lives on, as part of your spirit. Love and peace to you and to Miss Nancy. xx
Hi Tori only discovered your channel this morning 4am to be precise. The sensation you feel in your chest is Anxiety trust me i know ( see a doctor if it continues). Your doing the best thing by getting out in nature exploring, its what our ancestors did its who we are as a species. So many people would love to experience cold water swimming if only they knew how good it makes you feel after, so kudos to you. As for loosing your best friend (Nancy) your heart is broken it will repair in time, life is very short think about all the trillions of humans that have passed since humans began ?, just cherish the good times you two had together, a flower will grow and shine then fade away, a new one will grow and shine again. Take care and listen to your gut. A.T.B Stue

hi thanks for your video 🙏 there’s a lovely circular walk from Gidleigh Church that goes around the top of Dartmoor back through Scorhill. I walked it a couple of weeks ago . I’m sorry that you haven’t a dog for companionship, I really empathise as I’m in the same position after my dog died as I don’t want to leave a new one alone all day at home while I’m at work. As I tell myself, things will work out for the best and I hope you can feel that too. These can be moments given to us to better understand ourselves and discover inner resources to find personal contentment. It’s not an easy thing because we all need to give and receive love and empathy. I hope things go well for you and you can find a place to call home x
glad you liked it 🙏 I’ll look for that walk when I’m back there. i do agree with everything you’ve said, and in my good moments i do feel that, everything can’t rest on one thing however special dogs are to us. i understand how you feel, sometimes the time just isn’t right and we have to be honest about it, but one day both of us will be in the right position hopefully 🐾 thank you x

Score Hill, what a place… whilst I was in the area visiting my son I had a day out meeting a friend from North Devon… the day we chose was absolutely tipping it down in the summer, and I was wondering what we could do together so suggested we drive up to scorhill and when we got to the top in that tiny car park, we ate our lunch while rivers ran down the road…. but just as we finished it stopped raining so we headed up to the same circle which was completely waterlogged…. So we walked with our trousers, rolled up and bare feet…. It was delightful and then there was a little bit of blue sky which turned into an absolutely beautiful afternoon bathing in the Teign source (I think it is) not the bit you were in as that was torrid wild water that day….. I visited a year later with another friend when the water was calmer and bathed in the same rock pool you were in… it is beautiful. Lovely to know somehow we have a similar sense of exploration finding these lovely special places…. Looking forward to more of your films….. and thank you for your honesty in just describing how you are in the moment, really important for me to see others in the feeling of the day and they see me the same way
that sounds like an amazing day! somehow you end up with really memorable experiences when it isn’t just sunshine all the time. I’d love to wander the stones barefoot in the water. the rivers can be extremely wild after the rain glad you found somewhere calm. I’m so glad you like the videos thank you ☺️
Hi Tori. I very much look forward to the day you get a new pointy nose for he or she will be a light in your life and in turn that doggy will have a life filled with love. I look forward to so many more adventures ❤xxx

My sister lost her greyhound earlier in the year. Derry, was a beautiful boy and a ex racing dog. When my sister phoned me to tell me we cried for ages on the phone! Derry, was so gentle and quiet and would always meet me at the door when i visited my sister. My sister has had many greyhounds over the years all of them ex racing dogs. She gives them a warm and loving home and maybe helps them forget their past. Beautiful film Tori. Only just subscribed so i look forward to future films.

Beautifully shot (apart from the underwater footage 😀),love those rocks with all the different textures, lichens and mosses.Do you ever think about over the centuries all the generations who have taken a dip in these pools? Or does that cold water clear your mind? Thank you Tori ❤
omg it was so funny if only you saw the rest i couldn’t belive id filmed it 😅 hmm i have not thought that, but i will next time it’s pretty cool! the cold water definitely clears my mind i think that’s half the benefit to me ❤️
Good to see you back on The road again and thinking about a new dog to keep you company.you can bring a new life to another greyhound as you did before to miss Nancy. Good to see your extensive bikini collection being put to its intended purpose
We are on greyhound No. 3 after 25 years with greyhounds. Last time I got our latest, Minnie, within days of losing Foxy. I couldn't bear being without one and after previous experience decided to "get back on the horse". I had previously waited a couple of months after losing our first, Bally. Each has been different but each has enriched our lives. Go, Tori, on, do it. Get another. S/he'll be different but that's the point - you can't but love them - however they are and whatever their predecessor. They are all different and all lovely. We have their ashes, collars and dog tags in a "shrine". We do not forget but move on, cherishing the memories. That is how life is. Please do it, Tori. You'll be the better for it. Believe me.
At the risk of being utterly facetious, I'm sure all the gentlemen watching the nice blonde lady in her swimming attire, could find a variety effective and pleasant cures for her melancholy 😂
Tori you do know that shes looking down on you,her and her doggy mates watching you swim in ice cold water, one turned to her and said jeeez gal ya mum is brave ❤
I haven't been out for a while ... hoping to do a camp over new year fingers crossed on not having lots of snow then, its just hard work i need to chill out. Won't be splashing around in any freezing cold water either, sod that, I'll just watch you thanks 👍✌️🤘❤️❤️❤️ ... that didn't sound like a dodgy stalker at all. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 not changing it now.🤪
i feel like camping in the snow, I’m not sure if it a terrible idea 😅 new years camp sounds great! it’s always good to get a break even for a night, but come on you gotta get in the freezing water maybe you’ll love it 😅 I’ll be sure to keep a check out for anyone lurking behind a rock!
@missnancysdayoff i don't mind the snow its shifting all the pitch that bothers me, i aint getting in any freezing water unless i'm swimming for my life, and you'd be better off looking for people behind rocks coz if you looked in my direction you'd probably end up puking up behind one. 🤣👍✌️🤘❤️
@missnancysdayoff p.s. if its looking like snow you're more than welcome to help dig out and camp with us. I'll put up with a bit of manual labour just for you.... and THAT is not something i'd do for anyone. I think you will get support from some of these guys here also. Funny enough I saw your video while searching up Skoda yetis as I was going to look at one. Guess what I bought it in the end lol we could do a yeti meet lol joking.
thank you I’m so glad you like the videos ☺️ You got a yeti too! honestly I think we should have a yeti meet up 😅 i saw people doing that in America with a car that looks a lot like a yeti but isn’t 🤔
@@missnancysdayoff Yes might be funny. Just chilling and chatting round a campfire :) I am in Cologne at the moment but hope to be back in the UK later this week so if you can wait that would be great lol. I take cold showers every day however Wild Swimming is next level. Need to try it though.
Absolutely amazing views, even on a grey day. I love to be near water myself and definitely miss it.
You must so brave to share your feelings and thoughts with us all. 👏👏
Thank you so much for sharing everything with us. ❤
isn’t it, bleak but totally addictive. being near water is really the best thing I’ve found, and I’ve always wanted to live near it so fingers crossed. thank you, I’m not sure i guess i just want to be honest because it think we all have a lot in common but it’s easy to feel alone! ❤️🙏
@ we are both benefiting from your vlogs, I wish you all the best finding your forever home ❤️
Your videos always cheer me up, even when you are the one that needs cheering up.
i am so glad ☺️
A brave lady swimming in that cold water. We miss our four legged friends when they are no longer with us. Grieving takes as long as it takes. ❤
thank you ❤️
A great video Tori and what a lovely place to be in. You certainly had a big smile on your face after your swim. Well done you. Also good luck to Benedict too.
thank you ☺️ yes i defeinelty started feeling better after, woke of the next day in different spirits. fingers crossed for Cumberbark!
Another great video Tori on beloved Dartmoor again. Good job it was last week and not yesterday as lots of snow. Hugs as always.
thank you! i am actually gutted I wasn’t there this weekend I absolutely love snow, does Dartmoor often get it? ☺️
I'm sitting here having Cwtches (Welsh hugs) with my grey coco while catching up on your videos, hope you feel the love we are sending! I think we all love hearing your ups and downs, it's why we are here!
coco 🥰 that’s so lovely and i can’t pretend not to be a bit jealous, thanks so much for watching it means a lot to me!
Balance of a Ninja :)
I know this season's good for cool knitwear, bobble hats etc
but yeah, like you, the grey demeanour, the wet & cold, lack of sunlight ☀️ :(
Mood definitely dips.
Bravo for braving that dip in that river 🥶
"Pointy face" ?
Looks mighty fine to me.
Certain that things will fall into place for you eventually gorgeous free spirit 🦋
Thanks for sharing
Have a Awesome day Tori 🤍

☃️ 🐿
Thanks, Tori, for posting this. It's good to see you get out for a stroll and swim despite being down. I've struggled often myself. Good info about the vagus nerve and cold water.
thank you ☺️
Love your vids and your sounds dig deep Tori going thru a crisis myself know the feeling but chin up and stay focused you are doing the best thing getting out and about and great to hear you are going to get a new companion at some point. Another great watch take care.
thank you ☺️ I’m sorry you’re going through some stuff, you stay strong too it’s all we can do right keep getting on and out 🙏
Hi Tori,
Dartmoor is a rugged landscape, especially when the sky is grey and the clouds hang low. Here in the Lüneburg Heath, we have similar stretches of land that can sometimes evoke a sense of melancholy. But with your smile, you make even Dartmoor bright and welcoming.
Best regards from Lower Saxony! ❤
hi! it is a rugged and emotive landscape. I’ve not visited that area of Germany it sounds really lovely! thank you ☺️❤️
I lived in Lower Saxony had the pleasure of living in Celle an amazing place
*_Hello Nancy..., the savanna is very wide, very suitable for solo camping, I like it, the river also has clear water..., nice to meet you, I am Rudy in Indonesia....._*
Hi Rudy! which part of Indonesia, I’ve been to Sumatra it was amazing 🤩 yes the river was lovely
@@missnancysdayoff Yes, I also happen to be in Sumatra, precisely in Bengkulu, when will you return to visit Indonesia...?, you used to go to Indonesia with your husband...?....
The water keeps on flowing a metaphor for life.
♥️ so true
Dartmoor again - great stuff Tori.
thank you I’m glad you liked it ☺️
Thanks so much for this lovely video Tori, and for sharing your personal thoughts and feelings so bravely and candidly. It's uplifting and positive to watch and listen to, so keep up the good work. ❤
thank you i am so glad you liked it ❤️
I still occasionally shed a tear when reminiscing about my previous two doggy family members, and they passed many years ago now. It's difficult, and my heart goes out to you. She had THE BEST life with you, and now you carry her in your heart, forever intertwined, for all future adventures that come your way. She lives on, as part of your spirit. Love and peace to you and to Miss Nancy. xx
thank you ☺️🐾❤️
I love you so much and I’m so proud of you. We all miss her so much. 💖
☺️ thanks. i know it’s been awful for you guys too. Our brave girl 💔
A.T.B Stue
thank you so much for these kind words it means a lot ☺️
@@missnancysdayoff your welcome

Great post. Isn’t Dartmoor a great place and you do it justice.
thanks! i am sure that some people could totally manage getting a dog living in a campervan, i just don’t think i could manage, but my hope would be to ge them used to going out on trips and adventures! ❤️
A very good Effort, indeed!
Thanks!
Benedict Cumber bark ooooff haha thats the best thing Ive heard all year! :D
o know, what a guy! ❤️
@@missnancysdayoff Me and my mate were chatting about similar names and I think the best ones so far are Aleister Growley, Virginia Woof, Ronnie Barker (bit obvious) Al Pouchino, Bark Obama and JK. Growling :D
😅 great you neeed to send them to Kent greyhound rescue in case they run out. JK Growling 😅
@@missnancysdayoff :D x
So invigorating and beautiful, glad you got out and able to share it with us, no leeches, sharks, crocodiles or stingers, safe walking from Australia.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes I count myself very lucky I can do these things without much danger from the environment! 🙏
Your melancholy mood was reflected in the bleak landscape Tori. But as spring will bring colour to the moor, good things will come your way too x
it was all a bit bleak wasn’t it. thank you ☺️ x
Good luck car camping in this weather !
looking forward to your next adventure
thank you! it’s all seasons in a week at the moment 😅
Perhaps it's a meloncholy place in a malancoly season - the right place at the right time, Tori. Hope it was healing. Some lovely cinematography.
i think so, maybe that was why the sun stayed away. it was, it’s such a beautiful place whatever the weather and sometimes we need melancholy. thank you ☺️
Stunning as always ❤
Thank you for sharing your mini-adventure. It was a good idea. 🎉
thank you ☺️
Hey beautiful, just wanted say 👌 what a beautiful sight ro see
Thank you so much 🤗
Exquisite, never fails to amaze ❤
Defiantly going to try this out. Thank you ❤
brilliant! ❤️
hi thanks for your video 🙏 there’s a lovely circular walk from Gidleigh Church that goes around the top of Dartmoor back through Scorhill.
Thank you for your message, sending best wishes from the edge of Dartmoor
Massive respect to you Tori, that water looked cold, great vid. X
refreshing 😅 thank you x
Love your honesty on this video ❤
thank you ☺️
You were exactly where you needed to be when you needed to be there. Trust your process sweet human.

Happy New Year to you too ❤️
Hi Tori going back to the place which you and Nancy loved will do you the world of good physically and mentally even though it was hard to do really proud of you ❤so get the glovebox ready I’m coming on your next adventure and cold water swim hope you okay and well be safe and take care as always ❤xx ps get under your seat ready or glovebox ready 😂😂xxx

@ cushion and glovebox it is then Tori and would be a privilege to go on a adventure with a lady who is as beautiful inside as well as beautiful on the outside be safe and take care as always and looking forward for a invite ❤️xxx
I look forward to so many more adventures ❤xxx
hello! thank you ☺️ me too it’s going to be so special ❤️ xxx
Thanks for sharing your feelings. I lost my four legged friend a year ago, it still brings a tear to my eyes thinking of our time together. 💋
I’m so sorry to hear that 😖 they really are special beings 🙏
@ they are very special indeed. You would of loved to meet by old dog ‘Dave’. He was born within yards of the sea. So loved swimming. A bit like our self’s. 🏊🏻♂️🏊♀️
Dave sounds like a legend ❤️🐾
@@missnancysdayoff hi Tori. I hope you got through last weekend’s storm OK. ❤

@missnancysdayoff ❤️
Thanks for sharing another fantastic video, much respect. I love your jacket, may I ask where you got it from please 🥶🏊♂️💕
thank you so glad you liked it! I think tat jacket came from Aldi from the aisle of mystery 😅 i love a lumberjack and it’s so cosy 💜
Only just subscribed so i look forward to future films.
oh Derry ❤️ the sweet soft welcome of a greyhound is so heartwarming I can see him coming to the door, that’s so lovely your sister has rescued so many what a lovely woman. so glad you liked the video and thank you the sub!
thank you ☺️😅 She said back my mum is crazy! ❤️
Might help with stress but wow a cold dip again 🥶🥶

Hey Tori, (accidentally typed Rori then, who the hell is that?😂) great video, oh my god, I love that place so much! Now I really am bursting to get back there!
I could sense that Miss Nancy was with you while you were walking and getting you to that pool in the end ❤ also Benedict Cumberbark, one of the greatest names ever! lol
Music was so fitting too, beautiful.
Hope you’re having a good weekend xx ❤
ive heard Rori is pretty cool 😅 it’s so cool! where did you go that i need to go? there’s so much to explore. thank you ☺️ i hope she was, my little soldier would have been by my side as I traipsed around trying to find it just being a precious girl ❤️ isn’t Benedict cumberbark amazing! check out their website they give them all funny names xx
well I heard that Rori is a bit of a dude! lol, I love getting to the highest points there, some of the tors near widecombe are amazing and of course the ponies and cows are often hanging around there too! Haytor is amazing and wistmans woods too, badgers holt is great for a cream tea though don’t know if they do a vegan one, need to go back and find out! She was definitely there with you ❤️ I’m going to have to check out their website, love the crazy names!
Also the ponies at the end of your video! I knew they would come and find you! Xx ❤️

Hats off to you. You obviously feel down, but you did it. Good on ya
thank you ☺️
Wow!!!!🤩
Just found your channel, i am in. nice video! 😃
awesome, thank you! 🤘😀
One brave lady! Tori I think your ready for a doggie you've lots of love and care to give but rescuing is amazing but consider a puppy it would be happy growing up in the campervan following your adventures.❤
thanks! i could always get a rescue puppy, but i reckon it’s probably me who couldn’t manage with them in the campervan 😅 i feel like at least a few months of stability would be needed! ❤️
@missnancysdayoff Of course, 18months since I lost my springer just thinking maybe I'm ready 👍
☺️
Beautiful 😢🎉❤ adventure watching fr Jamaica 🏖️
thank you ❤️ and hi Jamaica that’s awesome!
Awesome swim! ❤
Yes it was!❤️
I have tried cold water for two years now it does help me with my day , I learned though the iceman videos so I thought what have I got to lose , I enjoyed your video . also I found fasting occasionally helps to ,
maybe I should check out iceman, I still haven’t done it as a daily routine i think that must be the best. fasting is something else I’m interested in too although I haven’t tried it, well not intentionally 😅 thanks I’m glad you like the video
Amazing soundtrack too 😊
thanks i loved that song!
Benedict Cumberbark! ❤❤❤❤❤
isn’t he so lovely! ❤️❤️🐾
Your sister is beautiful and adorable and Emily she nos it too 😂
Kusursuz bir fizige sahipsin ortam harika cok guzel gozukuyorsun turkiyeden ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️. 🌹
well done, Tori. Without cold water immersion some ting is missing in my day. I find cold showers are far colder than the the river.
if i could g everyday i wonder what would happen.. cold showers yes far colder i cannot do that!
Beautifully shot (apart from the underwater footage 😀),love those rocks with all the different textures, lichens and mosses.Do you ever think about over the centuries all the generations who have taken a dip in these pools? Or does that cold water clear your mind? Thank you Tori ❤
omg it was so funny if only you saw the rest i couldn’t belive id filmed it 😅 hmm i have not thought that, but i will next time it’s pretty cool! the cold water definitely clears my mind i think that’s half the benefit to me ❤️
Good to see you back on
The road again and thinking about a new dog to keep you company.you can bring a new life to another greyhound as you did before to miss Nancy. Good to see your extensive bikini collection being put to its intended purpose
thank you, pretty much always thinking about Miss Nancy’s 🥰 yes need to keep the swimwear worked through the winter!
Believe me.
🥰 you can’t buy love them….this is so true 🤗
love yoyr music
Thanks!
I will probably do an overnighter before that though i really think i need it.
It'll be an experience at the very least .. can't promise it'll be a good one but it'll be an experience.. probs have the dogs with us aswell. 👍✌️🤘❤️
You just look lost, i as a dad and grandad want to give you a big hug, keep well.
Sometimes being "lost" is the best place to be.. Also a Dad....
i reckon i feel lost a lot of the time 😅 thank you ☺️
@missnancysdayoff Your not the only one. Lost in life sometimes and sometimes I get actually totally lost with the dog in the middle of the nights in the middle of nowhere.. It's happened more than once lol.
