    If you want to live somewhere with all the necessary services, you can still buy somewhere to live under $500,000 in Wagga Wagga!! (The largest NSW inland city and it has a beach!)

    Hey! Can you share your experience studying at a regional area university in Australia? How’s the lifestyle, community interaction, and post-study benefits there? Looking forward to your insights!

    • @AmazeJourneys
      @AmazeJourneys  4 дні тому

      Sure! Studying at a regional university in Australia offers a unique and enriching experience that extends well beyond the classroom. Here’s a breakdown based on my experience and understanding:
      The lifestyle is really laid-back, way less hustle compared to the bigger cities. The cost of living is more manageable too, especially with things like rent and groceries. What I loved most was how close you are to nature. Weekends often meant beach trips, hikes, or just hanging out at a local café without feeling rushed.
      The community aspect is something that really stood out. It’s a lot easier to make connections in a smaller town. I ended up getting involved in a few local events and volunteering projects, and it made me feel more like a local than just a student. People are genuinely friendly and curious about your story, so it’s not hard to build relationships that go beyond just “university life.”
      In terms of post-study benefits, there are definitely some perks. You get extra migration points, which can make a huge difference if you’re thinking long-term. Plus, the extended post-study work visa gives you more time to figure out your career path and get valuable experience. I also found that the job market in regional areas can sometimes work in your favor since there’s less competition for certain roles.
      If you’re someone who values community and wants to try something different, I’d say regional uni life is definitely worth considering! Let me know if you have any other questions, I’m happy to share more!

    Ballarat is also only 90 minutes from Melbourne or Geelong, so you can still go and watch the AFL most weekends, and it's possible to comfortably live in Ballarat and work in Melbourne or Geelong, as many do. Same for Geelong, live there and work in Melbourne for the best of both worlds.

      Geelong is basically part of Melbourne. I wouldn't call it regional lol

      @AmazeJourneys  3 дні тому

      Absolutely! Ballarat and Geelong both offer fantastic commuting options while allowing you to enjoy the charm of regional living. It’s a great balance for anyone looking to experience the best of both urban and regional life!

      The interesting point is that, excluding Aldonga, the cities are the two biggest (non capital) cities in NSW and Victoria.
      A lot of praise for the climate in each city. There is no mention of the downside of climate in each. From personal experience, Ballarat has a cold and dank winter with a hot summer (I grew up nearby). South-westerly winds in winter straight from Antarctica, north-westerly in summer straight out of Central Australia.

    This video says a lot without saying anything at all. No QLD regional cities (Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Cairns, Townsville) and 3 of the regional cities wouldn't qualify as regional to a lot of people (Geelong, Newcastle, Wollongong). Wouldn't hurt for the video to actually have some details on the places like names of local attractions, and for balance, the cons of each. Heaven forbid the actual average housing costs be provided.

    Why are all the people handling money using Monopoly money. Definitely not showing Australian money.
    Ballarat was a major town for gold, but Bendigo was the gold capital of Victoria.
