I swear, there are parts of the first song that feel like someone took the Red Alert 2 soundtrack and randomly added a horn section. Turns out the majority of my favorite in-game music is from this expansion. Three cheers for the only faction that isn't actively trying to screw over its neighbors! Would have been nice if the freakin clans hadn't ruined it.
It's almost narrative, isn't it? It encapsulates the struggle of Rasalhague, the back and forth until the setback, the brink in which they're about to lose, the second wind born out of desperation... and the small but significant part Mason's Mercenaries played on that final victory.
I like to envision the song a bit differently. Opens up you're getting ready for maybe the biggest mission of your life outside of the war for tikonov. About 3 minutes in you're battle fatigued mechs get word that the crazy chick in the atlas is showing up with her personal squadron and you're now in a fight for your lives against a relentless opponent. Then near the end the song shifts into the heroes motif as you emerge battle weary and tired but victorious nonetheless.
I never expected track 1 to hit as hard as it did. That shit? Slaps me harder than my alcoholic stepfather. Hell yes! Brings me back to the MW4: Mercenaries days!
MW5's OST got SO MUCH better as the DLCs got introduced. I remember when the game dropped, before the DLC, and the OST was just the same old pseudo-speed metal.
12:34 The moment you have a lance so well trained and upgraded you can just literally launch a frontal assault in the final mission and come up without losing a single component.
I like the understated animation; gameplay footage can be distracting, and this is a nice compromise. Idea: what if the scene played in ultra-slow motion? Like, what if a 15-second clip of an epic critical hit was stretched over the length of this whole video?
Appreciate it! That's kind of what I tried to go for here, but I'm not an animator, lol. Hopefully if there's another DLC with some new tunes I can do better with the next upload
@@TheRUSTYTINMAN97 No prob. I can bob and tear to the tracks in-game while I wait. MAN! Nothing like cruising in a Dragon at 170+ with Supercharger and MASC while that tune is blasting in my ears.
Here's to a Free Rasalhague, to the heroes of the Republic like the Iron Jarl and to all those who gave their lives! (At least until the Clanners come and make a shitshow of everything so hardly conquered...)

1:42 that's the essence of 80s scifi, back when you could believe anything can be done with transistors, high quality steel and COBOL.
6:17
You know it's serious when the lightmotif kicks in.

16:48 This is the music that you ride into battle with nothing but a Locust, a pair of MGs and a breath-taking sense of overconfidence.
I was jamming along... until the 5:38 hit, and cranked the volume to 11.
Bloody awesome score, and I can't wait to go full throttle mid fight.

GLORY TO RASALHAGUE
“Dragons den i have to eject, LONG LIVE KURITA!”
Master of War is wicked, and I absolutely love the sci fi Chinese vibe in As Fire Fills The Sky around 14:58 😊🥰
Best ost for mw5
0:40 comes in so hard

Any ETA on "Dragon's Gambit" OST?
Just ran into a new song and tears even harder than Path of the Henchmen!!
Sorry it's taking long this time. Will hopefully have it out within the next few days

Can we get the Dragon's Gambit soundtrack from you?
Yeah sorry, I haven't had a chance to get it out yet. I definitely will though this week.
