Bryan Cranston is so right - it's all about the work. When he says "I can out-work them". This is something you can control. I love this work of preparing for a role. His advice is spot-on, superb. "You can't just do what's expected. You've got to take a chance. It's better to take a chance and go way out there ".. . So they will remember you! Thank you for posting Bryan's wisdom.
Standing out is important in every way, although we're told our whole lifes its best to fit in. I'm an art studend, and part of our entrance examination was to paint an installation made out of boxes, with white cloth spread over it an a few small colorful items placed on it, a bright orange lampshade and a yellow box for example. So we were seated around this installation and had to paint it. An I thought: no way im going to simply paint what I can see from my perspective. Thats what everyone else does. So I chose to paint a perspective nobody in that room had. I simply imagined what the installation would look like from above and painted that. And I got in. So it was definitely not the wrong thing to do :)
I definitely think these words of wisdom speak much into years of our art. We should ultimately become performers who change the screen with our ability to interpret.
Chỉ cần Đức Phúc hát ballad thì dù buồn hay vui ĐP cũng truyền tải cảm xúc của bài hát rất tốt. Bài buồn thì nghe đúng kiểu tự sự, đau khổ, nghe là muốn khóc. Còn bài vui thì lại nhẹ nhàng, ấm áp, chân thành nghe là muốn yêu❤️
Not true. There are roughly ten million actors in the world; out of those only 160,000 are members of the Screen Actors Guild. All of the famous actors in the world that you'd recognize only account for 3% of the dues paying members of S.A.G. A fraction of a fraction. Most of my friends are either writers; directors; producers or actors and none of them had parents that were actors. I'm an actor myself - my dad was a photofinishing engineer; my Mom did home health care. BUT... there are definitely a few out there that only got famous because of their already famous family members, like Nicholas Cage (real name "Nicholas Copolla"). That no-talent ass clown only got famous because of his uncle Francis Ford Copolla. But to say that 85% of ALL actors have actor parents - that number is way off. Emma Thompson is a perfect example of what you're talking about, she had the nerve to criticize today's young actor because we have access to resources she didn't have when she started acting; like the Internet; casting sites. But she's just one out of 3% of 160,000 out of ten million and she's not the only one that started out before we had the internet. I remember the days of having to read through Dramalogue, circle the four or five casting notices I was interested in & then stapling headshots to resumes; putting in in an envelope; writing the addresses; adding a stamp and then walking to the mail box to submit for acting roles. Now all of that is done with a few clicks of your mouse. And I think I just gave away my age to anyone that remembers Dramalogue. Sure, we've got it easier now but BOTH of her parents were already famous before she was even born so she's got no room to criticize us for having the internet to our advantage when SHE had Eric Thompson and Phyllida Law to her advantage AND she has access to the internet just like everybody else. The only advantage I have is that I live in Los Angeles.
Yup, even if you don't get cast in the project you originally auditioned for they'll remember you for something in the future because you stood out. In a good way of course. You DON'T want to be remembered as the guy vomited on the floor in sheer terror 😉
Or the woman who showed up to the audition dressed as the character; jumped over the couch; got in the casting directors face and said "I AM Catwoman". But if you're GOING to do that at least make sure you brush your teeth & use some Colgate.

Because you need experience and training. self submit (backstage, actorsaccess) and go to classes and workshops to get experience/build up your resume until you feel you have enough to get an agent.
@@myathepoet4925 I started backwards. I got an agent before I even knew about those websites and such. He said he saw potential in me. I have had huge auditions but havent booked one yet
@@storageunit2683 Sounds like you signed with a scam agency. Are they charging you money? Because if they're charging you a single penny but not getting you booked - you got scammed. It's illegal for a talent agent to charge you - they only get paid when you get paid and it's usually a percentage (15%-20%). Most legit talent agencies are going to want to see that you've already taken acting classes before they submit you to any "Huge auditions". What city are you in?
What you're asking for is exactly the same "SHORT CUT" that Mr Cranston is talking about here. You don't want to do the work. You don't want to take classes; submit for parts; go on auditions; learn from your mistakes and develop a relationship... a REPUTATION with the casting directors of being an actor that is consistently ON TIME and OFF BOOK. You're literally asking for the short cut that he JUST SAID doesn't exist. You get good auditions by doing the WORK. By NOT acting like the Nintendo generation and wanting instant gratification. Like somebody who shows up at a Karate school and gets mad because they can't just "buy" a black belt; they have to WORK for it. You can't just buy fame; you have to WORK for it. You're not going to get those "good" auditions because they are not sent out to every actor that's registered on the casting sites. SOME auditions/parts only get sent out to casting director with a note saying "ONLY send me your best". And if you're not already signed with a talent agency;you're never even going to see that casting notice. Even if you are - if you haven't already been doing the work; taking classes; proving yourself worthy - your agent is not going to submit you to that part which is going to make THEM look bad after you show up late; NOT off book and drunk. You've got to prove yourself worthy first and prove that your willing to WORK HARD at what you do.
@@vishnuanumula That's not being very "Specific" which is what the OP was asking. Sanford Meisner himself always said "Be Specific... it's written all of the walls of the Neighborhood Playhouse".

The movie industry for more than 50 years has been a monopoly controlling most of the world audiences except the Russian and the Chinese's audience ! owning the movie theater so no matter who makes a movie will be almost impossible to show there film ! Define 'work' with specific examples, please.
I think that's subjective, everyone has their own methods and his methods might not work for you.
