The older version of the M2 (V1) has the carbon skids and boom like the E180. It was considered an "upgrade" on the M2 V2 to go to the plastic skids that are more flexible and less prone to break. Also the M2 EXP is NOT a different nor older design than the M2 - it's just a version with plastic blade grips and swash instead of metal.

Great Video. I still have a Hornet II BNIB. I've flown Schluter Champion, Vigor and Raptor. I was an early member of the Michigan Whirlybirds. Had some great funflys :D Keep up the great video's!
Very good review Justin, I have accidentally turn on one of my 3D helis and hit my hand as well but these helis are not for beginners. I like this one and will probably buy one.

the thing is Justin the OMP 'S are far more expensive at least in the UK.. where as eachine and yu xiang are more budget on the Chinese websites 👍

I always tether a new high performance Heli to the ground until I figure out the switch settings. Those blades are sharp and a 450 scale Heli can kill. That's a small one but still dangerous. Good video. 👍
Thanks man. Yeah the dos and donts! Funny you mention a tether. When I learned to hover in the early 2000s... I used a Heli stand. Nightflyer Dave made one and demonstrated it. He was one of the originals! He burnt down his garage years back. I wonder if he’s still making videos. He was a cool guy.

I think these 3 type helicopters are really the new to me in performance and are so beautiful 🥰 it's my favorite because the rotor belt is a new system that fascines me but for now I'm telling myself and plan to buy an XK 110s then vera with the time
Great vid nice no gears to worry about.nice comparison.
Some may think the carbon fibre booms look nice, but they're not as practical as the OMP alloy booms. My M1 had a boom strike from the blades. All I had to do was bend the alloy, teardrop-shaped tube straight(ish) to get the tail rotor thrust right. Carbon fibre would've shattered into a million pieces!
Carbon is for advanced pilot who want some bling.

Yeah man. Me too. I had a 550 hard start on me to full throttle back in ‘08. It was snowing that day and super cold. I was just setting the Heli down and didn’t have throttle hold on and my jacket bumped the throttle to full. I held on the the head with my right hand. Instead of breaking my fingers the links broke. The 550 blades whacked me in the ribs a good number of times before I could jump back. Good times! Plastic parts matter! Lol! Something has to give.

Looks to be better than the e160. My e160 had issues where it would to switch to 3d mode randomly. I see there is a v2 of e160. Do you plan on reviewing it? I'm a newbie n was hoping this in stable mode would be good for beginners but I'll stay clear of this for now.
It's much better than the E160. E180 is a direct drive motor similar to an M2. I have an E160 as well as an M2...
Hey Gary buddy my E160 also Randomly switches into 3D mode. I've tried rebinding it. Still didn't stop it. Did you ever find a Fix??? Thanks 👍
@@andrewlow-hang3106 No I never did. I purchased the eachine tx16s and it has the built in settings for e160. Haven't tried it cuz I guess I don't know if it's the controller or the e160.

Please be careful with these models I have scars on my arm from electric motors+props with electric they do not stall !!! also when working with them on set-up take all props+ rotors off.

Glad you are okay! Great video as always. So do quads and heli’S have similar controls? Is it reasonable to assume if you can fly a quad you have the working knowledge of a helicopter, or are they vastly different?
They are different. The setup from scratch is vastly different. However with some reading it’s not too bad. Also thank God for youtube! :)

I started on a little heli a long time ago before switching to quads recently. I'd say they feel pretty different. The hover feel when you are in "acro" mode feels different. Hard to explain, really. As far as the basic Mode 2 operation on a transmitters, as in what stick does what, that's pretty similar. I mean with a heli you can have negative collective pitch, whereas with the quad you just have throttle control on fixed pitch blades, but as far as the basic flight controls go it's the same.

Hi there mate is there any chance you could help me I've just got into the FPV world I bought a emax hawk pro 6s I tried to bind it and I've got a video of it flashing and making weird noises and it never did bind I know when you put it into bind mode you are supposed to get a green light but I never did if you have an email address I could send you the video if you could help me .
