Hard to know what part your talking about so I’m going to guess. The tip of the pliers can be used to open split rings. The stainless steel section near the logo is a line cutter. The slots inside the pliers near the base are for pinching spit shot or holding a hook The cutouts on the outside are for tuning crank baits And the holes on the outside are for holding hooks Good set of pliers, still using them regularly.
