Congrats 👏. It is just wonderful the job of yours. I do some at home. People still doesn't understand how important is add value instead of took it of.
A truly stunning process with such a ubiquitous damaging product... and your tender jewellery pieces are just glorious, sensitive and mesmerising!! Thank you for sharing this with us!
I had no intention of watching more than a couple seconds of this, and here in am, at the end of the video enthralled and realizing I’m watching Mother Nature reincarnate our waste into beauty. As a diamond grader by trade, I understand the metamorphosis that takes place from something so ugly as coal into something so beautiful as the magnificence of the diamond- I also understand the design aspect part of this video- she is truly...an artist. Thank you.🙏
Absolutely stunning! For some reason, I felt very emotional and tearful watching this--maybe because the artist has changed my perspective so profoundly of what has become a despised, polluting material by creating these objects of decoration and beauty so elegant and breathtaking. Such originality is very inspiring for me as a furniture designer, poet, photographer and book artist... And the video presented with such clarity of explanation and quality, if you are not already teaching your craft Wiebke, then I am sure you would make a very effective and inspiring teacher.
Thank you so much. I'm touched by your comment and really happy I could give you a different view :) I'm not teaching it - I'm really bad at getting things like that done ^^' I really should I guess...
Wiebke Pandikow Thank you in turn for your message! No, I would not teach if you feel you don't want to. I've designed and made contemporary furniture most of my career; I did teaching and lecturing at my first university the year after I graduated and, despite enjoying helping new students in their studies, I found it so time-consuming and exhausting that it detracted from my creative work, so I didn't continue. Now I am retired, I can spend all my time indulging in my various passions for making furniture, art photography, handmade books, etc, and with no more client demands and restrictions on how I do things, it's heavenly! If I may say so, I think someone with your ingenuity shouldn't feel that you 'should' do something (teaching) if it doesn't feel right...
It probably would be a good way to actually make some money from what I do, though ;) it's hard to rely on grant money. But I'm not complaining, I have a part time job and a very supportive partner so I can do what I love most of the time. I am definitely privileged!
I'm seriously crying by the end. 🥺 Its so beautiful. Not just your skill and the form, but the message and meaning behind them. I'm your new biggest fan.
Creating something beautiful from one of the ugliest materials, celebrating nature through the use of plastic waste, hand crafting with something thought of as only for machines to work with, putting a new beginning at what's the end of the material's intended life, making a unique piece that carries it's mass produced origin in its identity. I'm amazed at how contradictory it all is, and how well it works. It's inspiring and moving.
Thank you Wiebke for making this video, and especially for making it in English. Your artwork is beautiful and my favorites are the ones with all the small leaves. I imagined them incorporated on a designer wedding gown curving gracefully to enhance the beauty of the bride. I think you are making a good mark on this world.
@@ravencoat I tried making some plastic flowers... And I did. They are not even close to looking good or anything... But the thought of upcycling plastic is really great and I'll keep on doing it. Thanks so much for the inspiration
This is so beautiful! The art of making art.. the patience that goes into it.. it's aweinspiring! I'm very much inspired thank you for taking the time to share!💙

OMG! Absolutely amazing creativity! I just found you in UA-cam but I wanted see more of your creations and founded you in Facebook. I definitely I'm your fan. Im impressed with your work and I will try to use your technique with the plastic bags because I'm into recycling and reuse material to help to save our planet.
Wow such stunning work. I can't thank you enough for sharing your beautiful work and helping the environment in such a beautiful and unique way! Love this so much! 🙏😍👏👏
My 11 years old dauther wants to make jewels from recycling materials. She expressed (in 11 years old words) quite the same concerns and thoughts than you, its almost eerie... She wants to make the world better, one plastic bottle at the time. She was mesmerized by this video. Its working, you inspire, just keep going!
so beautiful omg! I've been looking for a way to recycle my plastic bags because I want to make sure the carbon footprint I leave behind is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your art and your thoughts. I am truly amazed and also inspired.
Thanks :D it's probably because I don't really use youtube to post. you can find me on facebook and instagram though ( facebook.com/silvercranejewellery and instagram.com/silver_crane/ )
I am at 8:52 min. & I feel so very privileged to be able to watch you create. You say it's like therapy to you, well I feel like it's almost the same for me just to watch & listen to you. Once again, I am truly thankful for to you for sharing. Peace & happiness to you.
Beautiful, and imaginative. And I love that you repurpose waste materials into something so lovely and reminiscent of natural forms; thoughtful. Thank you for sharing! The feeling of a work growing by itself after studying its process for a long time is familiar -- that's what I consider to be "zen"; I'm not conscious of it (anymore). It's a strange feeling of not being present as a conscious force, but being present as something that is absorbed by the work, and absorbs it in turn. Hard to put into words.
Wow, stunning delicate absolutely beautiful work. I hate waste & always look at ways to use items that would normally end up in a bin going to landfill or off to some far off land to be reused. Thank you for sharing
Amazing and rewRding work . thanks for this video. I am always looking at things thrown away thinking somewhere there is someone who can make this into wonderful Art. I will not look at plastic bags the same again.
Hello Wiebke, my recycled projects from plastic bags are beautiful plastic beads wrapped in either craft wire or lace material, or both I also make paper flowers and incorporate pieces of plastic into my flowers then paint they come out Amazingly Beautiful.
What an absolutely amazing artist you are. Your art work is exceptional! I truly wish you future success n your journey and I keenly look forward to seeing all your future endeavours, with kindest regards karen. 💖

Thank you so much for your beautiful work and thoughts. You and your work are truly inspiring. (I too love to make jewellery from discarded plastic (amongst other things) - )
It's just fantastic and so AMAZING how GOD created each and one of us so UNIQUE and so DIFFERENT with GOD GIVEN TALENTS such as this! All I can say is just plain and simple ........... WOW! I am in AWE first time seeing this wonderful creations one person could create out of waste plastic............... Truly AMAZING and FANTASTIC WORK OF ART! If I were you Madam, I would want to have an EXHIBIT for this kind, so that people will be aware of not throwing those reusable plastic bags and think of lots of ways on how to re-use them. Carry On Madam. Hats Off to all your creations(",)(,")
I have watched your video a number of times since I first found it. The beauty of your work still reaches out to me every time. In your video you say that you don't know how your creations will stand up over time. It has now been over 4 years since this video aired, so if you get this message, can you let us know how they are ? I would think they would be ok because of the very fact that they are made from plastic, but some plastics do break down. I hope I hear from you. Thank you.
Hey Allison, thank you for your kind message. :) The pieces have so far held up really well! What I am worried about is that most plastics turn somewhat brittle over time (and over time here can mean anything from a few years to decades! so it's really hard to know) Since in many of my pieces there are very thin parts it might be that at some point they turn so fragile that you might not be able to use them as jewelry anymore. Nowadays I always sell many of the more delicate ones in custom made wooden boxes though, which you can hang on the wall just like a painting and I think they will be quite safe in those! also, how is it over four years already! I should maybe make a new video at some point ^^'
I am in total awe of your workmanship, patience, talent and "world-vision". Thank you for sharing your work with all of us. Your fingers get so close to the end of the soldering iron..I'm wondering how you keep your fingers from blistering?
Thank you so much! Every once in a while I do get small burn wounds, but they're part of the process ^^' In the end, just over 200 degrees isn't as hot as one would think and the plastic cools quite quickly if it's just a thin layer. I guess every craftsperson learns to be careful with ones tools and materials :)
Stunning work I adore every single piece, it is great to find an Art that not only bring's you joy in it's creation but also to find a calmness in which to escape sometimes. Loved your video and subbed Hugs Dede xxxx
Stunning art.. beautiful photos, also beautiful for an exhibition, but I don't really see myself walking around with branches hanging from my neck...I mean , in terms of practicality...
Thank you! And yes, they are art and meant for exhibitions or, if worn as jewelry, for special occasions like an opera visit or something, not for going to work on a weekday. So yes, you are right, they definitely aren't practical, they aren't meant to be :D
