"Will Skeleton Crew be worth it" without the "?" reads like a pirate vouching for his friend, Will Skeleton Crew.
Yarrr
no it really doesnt
@@bennett4789How does it not
My theory is it wasn’t even worth the question mark
This should be a candidate for 🐐 post 😂
Wasn't there a theory that the pirates from the last Mando season will somehow play a role in this one?
The Nikto (Vane, I think) from season 3 is confirmed for Skeleton Crew, but I don't think Captain Seaweed or his gang are since they presumably died with their crashing ship.
I thought that was already confirmed
If hondo onaka dont comand them they are no pirats
@@jonathanoliveira3541 Live Action Hondo would be an instant win for this series in my book. And he really fits into a story involving kids well, since he seems heavily based on the character of Fagin from Oliver Twist (and I know, he's also very much Jack Sparrow).
Long live Hondo ohnaka
I forget this was even a thing.
Memory slips with age
Considering it was announced years ago, and there's been zero marketing since, that doesn't really mean much
It’s probably for the best
The main characters ship (probably) was already released as a lego set lol.
It‘s the Onyx Cinder if you want to check it out and honestly, i kinda like it even without knowing anything about it.
@gamer500 don’t worry I think Disney has too I mean if it wasn’t for a few UA-camrs going “”oh yeah I forgot they had mad that”” I wouldn’t remember it existed.
Also the Lego set for the Ship looks kinda cool, I’m far more interested in the Lego set than I am for the show, you would have thought that when Star Trek (I’m thinking it was called prodigy but I can’t say it with 100% commitment) fall flat which was a show with almost the same plot as this only if I remember right it was animated so you know cheaper to make that should have been a hit for Disney to slam the brakes on and outright cancel the show or drastically reduce the budget (I say Disney as we can’t trust Lucasfilm with money or creative thinking, I mean from the pictures we have seen the maralucan which is a race with no eyes is seen wearing a visor/scanner it’s not like their blind like Geordie, the whole race just sees though the force they evolved with no eyes, but you can bet some “”smart”” person at lucasfilm thinks this is a disability).
I could see it being fun, the goonies and similar movies were made for kids but kept charm for all ages, if it catches simallar magic it will be super refreshing. If not, and it flops it will be a more noticeable flop, and seem a lot worse compared to a flop geared towards adults.
To be fair, Star Wars shows seem to go back and forth in quality, where one flops, but the next one ends up being good. Acolyte was pretty bad, so standards will already be kinda low. Who knows, maybe goonies in Star Wars might go hard 🤷♂️
@@SirRulean1223 I can only think of 2 shows that didn’t flop, or had good storytelling and effects/props: The Mandalorian and Andor. Everything else has been disappointing to put it nicely
Adventures in Babysitting…in space.
Star Babysitting
Well, i mean, that was the whole mandalorian show lol
@@ernestooyarzo2881 technically that was an escort mission. At least a B-rank.
I'm gonna go into this like I went into The Acolyte, with zero expectations and hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised. I love Star Wars more than most things and will always give every new show/movie a fair shake.
The Goonies in space lmao
Classic kids entertainment then?
Not gonna complain, if it's as good as Goonies it'll be the first good Star Wars media since Andor
The show I was least excited for when they announced a ton of shows one year was Andor. It's most likely my favorite piece of STAR WARS now. If season 2 is even near the quality of season 1, it'll be an all timer. It was the best show that year. Period.
All that to say, I expect nothing from Skeleton Crew, nor do I think it's for me, but I'm down to be surprised like I was with Andor.
Hotd season 1 and Andor are on the same level
@@LianSchwarz Not if you've read Fire & Blood, homie.
Same. I was one of the millions who was like "a show about that goober from Rogue One? ... WHY???" & now I think it's the greatest show ever.
I don’t know, it was never interesting. Sounded like a very boring premise, judging from what the show suggests.
@@coletrain583 watch it then, you'd be surprised
idk about everyone else but this has the feel of Ewoks Battle for Endor to me. A series not just about kids, but specifically for kids.
I used to love Battle for Endor. I had it on VHS :D (maybe that's the secondary audience that'll tune in for nostalgia)
i think it’s gonna be a kids show dude
No ad revenue if no content
Eckhart’s ladder sold out long ago. Just look at his Star Wars Outlaws review
@@rq4740you mean the one where he expressed cautious optimism, and told his viewers to not pre-order?
Stop trying to create drama when there isn't any.
Kids live action show that they show right next to andor??
Shocking! Who would think Star Wars isn't for kids? /s
George Lucas just like Dave Filoni says it again Star Wars always has been targeting kids as the main audience. Star Wars is soap opera fairy tale franchise. There never was Star Wars projects that targeted solely adults but Dave doesn't mind if one would be created.
Just to remind you, teens are still kids even if they are little after 18 years.
We shouldn't want this to be connected to Ahsoka. The shows should be able to stand on their own merits and not rely on interconnectivity to retain viewers.
Not to mention just how small the galaxy feels since The Mandalorian. It's a big galaxy, let some stories happen in isolation.
@@Ahsoka-Tanowhat do you mean by small
Preach
The only thing i hope this show doesn’t do is have random goofyness just to be goofy in a serious situation. Aka Book of boba fett having a ton of random goofy scenes.
It’s a kids show. So like that is gonna be a thing lmao
Tbf, I liked the bantha joke, it got a chuckle out of me lol
The kids find a freaking Stargate in the SW universe.
Ah yes the classic Star Wars villainous species, the Goa'uld
This could be a set up that brings Star Wars and Star Gate together. Also brings Star Wars into the MCU.
Thing is, there are Stargates in the SW Universe, there called Infinity Gates and were built by Kwa, they appeared in legends.
@@cane6074 but they destroyed them to prevent the Rakata from using them to enslave the entire galaxy.
IIRC, it wouldn't be the first time. IIRC both the Kwa and the Gree had similar "portal" technologies long ago. Granted, this was in Legends, but let's be honest: modern Star Wars isn't afraid to cherry-pick from Legends.
I'm still waiting on an Ewoks Adventure sequel
I could care less WHAT the story is, I just want it to be well acted and well written.
Well written and story go hand in hand... lol. You're contradicting yourself
@@idiot_city5444 I 100% disagree.

What ever expectations you had, lower them.
There are expectations? Rather watch the clone wars 10 times again
Honestly it's best chance is to be unconnected to anything else, just capture some of that 80's spielberg goonies/E.T. magic and it'll do fine.
But this is disney and KK we're talking about, expect it to sink with out trace, audiance apathy for disney starwars is as high as it gets.
Getting "caught in the riptide" of the eye of sion. That is kind of a fun way of describing it, whether it happens or not, this idea that the space-time "rebounds" back and pulls them with it is interesting
Really hoping "inter-galactic" is said for that exact reason. Pleaseee....
They may show us how Ahsoka also eventually gets home (just so they don't have to waste time explaining some mystery involved there).
After the acolyte i dont think so disney doesn’t have a good track record of very many good shows honestly
X Men 97 begs to differ.
@@achaudhari101 Xmen 97's success is attributed to both the animation studio and De Mayo's vision. Both of which isn't in play here.
Point is they can make good shows.
Check out Percy Jackson and the lightning thief for something great that is not Star Wars or Marvel it’s written by the author, that wrote the books
I think it will be for the same SW audience as Rebels, not for those at the older end of fans.
I believe the titled school ship Skeleton Crew will travel hyperspace from its home planet to other planet as intended school trip.
Unfortunetly for them, at the same time Thrawn's Eye of Sion coming from Peridea will clash with their hyperspace travel accidently sending them out to Unknown Regions of Galaxy. The Skeleton Crew with limited supplies and damaged ship will have to find their way to their home by traveling from place to place, from planet to planet. There are a lot of anime productions that makes such space school trip lost in space by accident plots, like Astra Lost in Space, Uninhabited Planet Survive!, The Orbital Children or Lost in Space . It's quite funny Star Wars yet didn't get such story yet till now.
"If Disney has failed to meet your expectations, please....lower your expectations."
Already have then they somehow broke it
@@PaulCashman the best part about having 0 expectations is that it makes watching literally anything great, I go into every media I watch with the lowest of expectations and I enjoy mostly everything because I’m not being some cynical ass who needs to knit pick everything
Would love to see further exploration into the unknown I’m hoping as we get farther out we can see some cool stuff ❤
Then let's hope they don't end up in the unknown regions 💀 It's like Game of Thrones mixed with Ender's Game out there
I really like that. Hyperspace wake idea. It's kind of like a force Echo.
Short answer?
No.
Long answer?
Also no.
I'm here for andor season 2 and then in dipping from star wars for a minimum of 5 years.
Sure you are lol

Same I’m probably gonna see how episode one is and decide if I wanna continue watching
I just feel apathetic I don’t care about this show but at least it won’t be pure disappointment and anger that the acolyte, kenobi, and boba were
Two overhated things.
@@achaudhari101 not really I had low expectation for kenobi since it would either be boring or bad like we got and it somehow was worse than I expected and acolyte is just a convoluted mess both are justified
@@achaudhari101 Nope. Not hated ENOUGH.
@@violentneon2999 That’s just emotional brain damage, come on man.
@achaudhari101 nope. The truth, and no amount of trolling or simping by you will change it.
Also... the girl in the background of those shots is a Miraluka... an insanely rare and insanely force sensitive species in the setting... especially during and after the Emprie
It seems like a fun show.
I'm willing to bet that if it ties into Ahsoka or anything at all, it'll be a blink and you'll miss it reference to Peridia or something right at the end, just like Plageuis at the end of the Acolyte.
I would love it if they end up on Perridea. It would be cool to explore that world while we wait for Ahsoka season 2.
You had an interesting statement. “I dont know how this is going to connect to cannon” (something like this). I feel like if someone was to create a Star Wars show, why not make a series or movie that doesn’t connect. Almost like a live action Jedi fallen order/ survivor and now Outlaws thing. Make something where it takes place in a time we know of but dont make it connect to the overall story because us fans are very cautious and frustrated now with Disney writing bad shows and movies. I dont know just a thought
I love John Watt for MCU Spidey trilogy. So I'll give it a try.
Jude Law will be a smuggler type that has a heart of gold and the kids sneak aboard his ship which will be on their planet.
the show will cover Jude learning to care for the children. Any connections to other projects is not going to be too forward face
Disney has done so much trash like Acolyte that I’m going to massively hold off on this one till reviews are in for the whole season.
I was hopeful for a Star Wars version of Firefly, but that's not looking likely.
It’s gotten to a point in disney Star Wars where we no longer look forward to Star Wars but we wonder if it’s good or not
#askeck do you think Admiral Thrawn listens to im blue by eiffel 65.
I think he listens to Mr Blue Sky
yeah its on his playlist for his art study room aboard the Chimera
Probably listens to the blue album
Heard that news story as "when (4Kids) discover a mystery..." Immediate concerns as an older anime fan.
I actually hope this is not connected to the other shows/movies. Star Wars has a whole galaxy to play with. The galaxy should feel large. Things should happen independently, otherwise it makes the galaxy feel smaller.
But I'll take what they give us. I just want a fun adventure. Hopefully a well written adventure on top of that.
Would be great if it has a Lost in Space (Netflix) vibe!
I forgot this was a thing to the point t where I have to ask if this is a show or a movie?
We are primed for this.
Yay more chase scenes like leia in Obi-Wan kenobi
I'm certain its purpose is to sell toys and entertain the kiddos
Wow... almost as if that's been the point of everything star wars for almost 50 years
@JJJBunney001 that is their non panderverse delusion of the best way to get that dollar...Parents.💸✨️🎬
Legendary tales are no longer to be told, just program chatGPT for your own starwars experience. Climb into this harness and put on this helmet, you'll be in the movie
I think its more likely they are going to find one of those Force portals that connect different worlds, they are going to go through and not be able to go back through, and on the planet they turn up on they will probably find the Jude Law character with his ship and he will reluctantly agree to take them home. I am then expecting it to play out a bit similar to Escape From Jupiter (great series)
I quite like jude law, but after the acolyte I'm going to have to hear about this second hand.
I doubt it given the track record, and on a personal note it doesnt seem to speak to me at all. Tho if it surprises me I'll welcome it,
Given its targeted for a younger audience than most of the Mandoverse I dont think it will be a pre requirement to have seen other Mandoverse show to see it.
My short synopsis is rather:
The kids are on theyre homeworld and its not long to "life day". While playing in the outback they found a mysterious ship with a cranky old droid that somehow (pre programmed?) takes them to severel well known (or unknown) planets in the galaxy as the kids search for Mcguffins they need to get home. In the process they find allies and enemies (said pirates who also want the Mcguffins) and learn how to thrust eachother and work together. In the final episode they find theyre way back home and celebrate life day wiser and more mature.
Maybe they land in the unknown Regions and we see the Chiss Ascendency (and the Grysk)
That's really a personal question to ask after you watch it? Was Acolyte worth it's budget after you finished it you think?
"a mysterious discovery on a simingly safe home planet"? They try to find a way back home? ... oh man... oh man, i hope it is not earth...
do ortolans only have 2 limbs? in swtor they all have 4. just confused about what you said in the beginning of the video
I think it would make it more interesting if it took place in the other galaxy they presented in Ahsoka. 🧐
Another Disney Star Wars show based on babysitting. The Bad Batch babysits Omega, Din babysits Grogu, Obi-Wan babysits Leia, Kanan babysits Ezra, Anakin babysits Ahsoka, They even had the adult Sabine Wren act like a bratty teenager for Ahsoka to babysit in live action. Now Jude Law is the babysitter. It's getting old.
The master-apprentice dynamic is essential to Star Wars lol
@@WeaponizedAutism7 You're confusing the babysitting narrative with criticizing the master-apprentice dynamic. There's a lot of daylight between the two concepts. If I were to criticize how they turned General Hux into a mustache twirling Disney villian I wouldn't be complaining that Generals exist in Star Wars.
I’d say there’s a 50% shot here, 50% we get something like Ewoks or droids where it’s funny and goofy and we all know it doesn’t tie in but at least it’s entertaining, 50% we get something bland like age of resistance or something totally cringe like young Jedi adventures. I’m going to be optimistic and hope it’s the former and believe that even if Disney can’t write good Star Wars they can at least make good kid’s movies still.
You need to do the battle comparisons More there so good
So weird to hear someone say this is taking from Stranger Things when it's taking from the things that inspired Strange Things. It's meant to be like Goonies and stuff
This show might ve surprisingly great but i feel like it's gonna drop at a bad time after the Acolyte. I doubt its gonna be fans want when we need something like Andor season 2
I hope it is good. The record of late is shaky, but I will give it 2/3 episodes to convince me. I am being extremely kind by doing that, seeing that the dumpster fire of the last few Star Wars projects have shakken any interest in Star Wars for me
They’re trying too hard to piggy back on Stranger Things. Seems like there isn’t a whole lot of originality.
So basically the Eye of Sion is cargo ship Dali?
Well, that sounds horrific. Who watched the Baby Leia episodes in Obi-Wan and decided, yep, you know what? We need more children running around very slowly and outwitting adults with ease?
It works in Rebels because Ezra is force sensitive, it works for Anakin because he's force sensitive, it works on the rare occasion Grogu does anything because he's force sensitive...so are all these kids going to be force sensitive? Is everyone in Star Wars who's a good guy going to be force sensitive now all of a sudden?
got darn space whales, GET MY HARPOON AND SPACE WHALING SHIP!
Honey, where did you put my space harpoon?
#AskEck
Hello there! What would you (and Corey) think about people adapting legends novel material directly into movies or TV? For example, a “Darth Plagueis” movie released with the “LEGENDS” banner.
What book or series would you be most interested in seeing directly adapted like this? And what would be your top casting picks?
I’m not super stoked about it, especially after hearing some BTS info. I’m just not looking forward to a child cast. And the plot sounds derivative. But, of course, I’m gonna watch it.
For the people that are up to date with the shows, which ones are worth watching and which ones should I skip?
i'm pretty pessimistic when it comes to star wars now, but i'm ready to be surprised
Hey Justin. Brad here. Idk if I said this before but can you Put Of a starship vs? The Imperial Tokisk Class Escort Carrier vs the Venator Star Destroy?
I'm not interested in anything from Disney 'Star Wars'. And I'm not into playing the 'grin and bear with it' ga0me either.
Because you gave up so easily?
So easily? Bro it’s been almost 10 years of this ꜱhit 😂
@@rq4740 Yes.
Ugh! I didn't think that I had any F*#Ks left to give for Star Wars..... Now, I have even less.......
I’ll probably enjoy it. It is more aimed at kids but it doesn’t mean there won’t be some cool stuff in it. I’m kind of just tired of the negativity of the fandom. Some of the criticisms I can absolutely understand, but there is still some good stuff in Star Wars.
I'm not holding my breath. I'll try one episode but if its Jude Law babysitting a bunch of whiny kids with sappy Disney Kids humor and dialogue I'm done.
I't's nice and all that there's a focus on kids... However when I see a smol speeder bikes made to look litterally like regular kids bikes from the 80's/90's including the tassels and baskets... I fear it's making Star Wars feel less and less "A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away."
it dosen't feel like they explored visually what life could be like in this universe and if that's the case I might bode ill for the show and Star wars overall.
they should'nt go for "Stranger Things or the Goonies but in Space" it needs to stand on it's own two legs.
Disney can’t get one Star Wars galaxy right. Now they wanna ruin a second one. 🤦♂️
As they usually do after ruining something.
The sole reason behind Marvel's What If, actually...
They burnt Marvel to the ground, and when they couldn't milk its rotting corpse anymore, they went for alternate universes/timelines.
who producer is? headland?
Every time we all agree that Disney couldn't make anything worse with SW, they take it as a personal challenge... and they always deliver (Andor excepted, of course).
I have no faith towards anything else they want to make.
The answer is no. Everything we've gotten or seen so far about is pointing to one thing *IT'S GONNA BE BAD*
Do we think itll be good? No. Will YOU say its good? Yes
The blue elephant thing looks painfully low budget
bro i dont even care i havent even watched the acolyte nor do i have any intention to go watch new starwars
Um...its Disney. Do you even have to ask I'd it will be worth it? No it won't. I gave up on Disney Star Wars after Obi Wan and that was a last chance for me. Its like KK has a personal grudge against Lucas and the old fans that loves George's SW. Idk
Surely it can't be as bad as The Acolyte
Yeah I'm just not interested, maybe a good trailer would help, but stocks are low for my interest in Starwars
This seems like freemakers but live action
Again, hope it's not a complete dumpster fire like The Acolyte. But I'll believe it when I see it. 🤔🤨😬
As with every show, don’t judge it before you watch it. Give it a chance and discuss it with a level head, and who knows, maybe we’ll get a Star Wars show which is both good AND fun. It would be nice if Andor had a complementary lighter toned show of higher quality.
Agreed, especially for younger viewers. I want the next generation of Star Wars fans to have something to enjoy that's quality instead of the sequel trilogy
Isn't this a copy of Prodigy?
I have a bad feeling about this. Star Wars Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure kind of bad feelings. I hope I'm wrong.
i'm not watching it and it's all the acolite's fault!
Honestly I just want it to be better than the acolyte like it can just be bad but not terrible
I used to be a Star Wars super fan. I am mostly done with it now. I am not interested in any child or family friendly Star Wars anymore. If they have some mature Star Wars I will be there, of not I am no longer interested.
I am looking forward to Andor season 2, anything else so far I could not care less for...

If they save Ashoka and Sabine i will have the biggest eye roll of all time
Considering, what Sabine did in bringing Thrawn back, I sincerely hope so. Sabine needs to face her actions, weather she likes it or not.
To answer the question in the caption, no!
After the crap fest that was The Acolyte?
Nope…Not at all.
Nope, I'm only interested in Andor S2, and after that I think I'm checking out of Star Wars.
Nope it needs to be its own thing and not involve that mess if they want it to be successful.
The kids will find a door between worlds (aka Rebels style) and not be able to get back the same way, meet Jude Laws character and adventures trying to get home, with Pirate trouble (kids have a bounty or other value). It will be something different with lower stakes and more fun if you choose to sit back and enjoy the ride, rather then demand the best SW show ever.
