ATP is used in every process in the body that requires energy. So breathing, keeping your body warm, beating your heart, thinking, moving. Creatine is used first to create ATP when heavy lifting, then carbohydrates, then fat, then protein. Each of these in order generate less explosive contraction than the one before it.
🤡 fr bro pseudoscience and false information is what everyone is using especially these girls who do makeup to look attractive and bring out audience and spread bs to make money
Fat and protein can't be used to generate the same rapid muscle contractions as glycogen and creatine, they have to be converted into glycogen well beforehand. That's why people on ketogenic diets experience muscle weakness and are unable to lift heavy consistently.
It's intremely good at helping your brain health as well which imo is more of a benefit than anything else. I noticed when I had my wife add it into her morning routine she actually had less brain fog during the day and was more eager to go to the gym.
In some individuals creatine can create a false marker for chronic kidney disease by elevating creatinine levels. So another reason to stop taking creatine might be to ensure accurate testing for a potential serious diagnosis.
I am one of those. I can have one dose and i am fine. The next does day after first one makes me feel dyhadreted, constantly thirsty, slight discomfort in my kidney area and apnea in night time. No, but the muscles "deflate" as creatine encourages water retention within the muscle so this is lost when creatine is stopped. Also, not everyone gains benefit from creatine
It can affect appearance but your muscle mass isn’t affected by water retention When using a body composition machine you can clearly see muscle mass increases, water retention percentage, and fat mass percentages, when using creatine both Muscle mass and water retention percentages increase (water being what can affect appearance) however when you stop using creatine and continue to exercise your muscle mass will remain constant and water retention will decrease (appearance might change but in general you still have the same muscles that you built using it) if you STOP working out consistently and stop taking creatine you will face exponential loss in muscle mass though
And yeah!!! Some people don’t process creatine monohydrate!! It’s a really interesting concept that only some people’s bodies properly metabolize the supplement and gain viable results, cool stuff
@@gilligen6834 yeah that's what I meant by deflate. They'll lose their fuller appearance but it's only a cosmetic thing and your strength should remain. I haven't seen much gains from using it so 🤷♂️
I’ve had to cycle off twice within the last 5 months due to COVID and a death in the family. This last break I’ve noticed a tremendous change in my appearance, strength and energy output. Also haven’t done any workouts for the last 6 weeks. Just started my loading cycle today and hitting the weights tomorrow, time to HULK out.
I took creatine for 6 months and I had the worse cystic acne I have ever had and it didn’t matter if I was drinking enough water or eating healthy (I have pcos so I already eat very clean and I track my carbs) but I didn’t know creatine does elevate DHT levels (Dihydrotestosterone) and growth hormone (GH). When I quit it took an entire year for my face to completely clear up so be careful if you’re prone to breakouts
You might not lose your muscles if stop creatine and you still train hard but you definitely loose size like water retention ( the bottom line is i think you loose muscles if you stop it) I have been taking creatine for 15 years and i tried so many different ways to take, and the most effective way is about 6-7 grams 5 days a week all the time meaning forever no need to take a break, maybe once a year you going on holidays.
No, ATP is the ONLY energy utilisation form. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is a nucleotide that provides energy to drive and support many processes in living cells, such as muscle contraction, nerve impulse propagation, condensate dissolution, and chemical synthesis. Found in all known forms of life, it is often referred to as the "molecular unit of currency" of intracellular energy transfer.
ATP is not only during intensive exercise, it's used in so many essential processes of the body. There is ample evidence that everyone should be taking creatine, not just when lifting, because it has cognitive benefits and helps keep muscle. It's actually really good for those who don't lift to take it. And if you don't have the money to buy creatine I'm sure you have much bigger problems because it's one of the cheapest supplements out there.
ATP is not "only used during intense activity". During intense activity the body uses stored phosphocreatine in the muscles for quick energy conversion instead of solely relying on glycogen stores and mewly digested food.
Last time I tried creatine, I gained around 8lbs in a couple days from the water retention. It got so uncomfortable I stopped after a couple weeks, but my weight never went back down and it took about a month for the retention swelling to go away.
I’ve never heard of that, I’ll have to do some research/ digging to see what I can find, I recommend it to everyone and like to know what issues might arise
That’s what happens to me every single time! I’m 32 I’ve taken creatine on and off the past 10 years. I had to stop taking creatine for two months because my kidneys and liver were not responding well. I took 10 mg a day since I’m a bigger person. I had been on creatine for about 8 months. For the first 8 months I was consistently drinking a gallon or more of water a day. I got less consistent with my water consumption and that’s when I noticed the problems first started. Used to use creatine few years back, not a huge difference but definitely much harder to work with the same weights after I stopped using it. Would maybe help get more muscle tissue but rather keep my hairline😂😂
I used creatine for a few months while working out 4-5 times a week. After about 3 months I started having cramps and pain in my biceps, thighs, and joints. I stopped creatine and these issues went away.... anyone else had this issue?
Personally, I need a protein shake daily in order to make sure I meet my protein needs to I just throw it in my shake. Makes it a lot easier to remember when it’s just added to something in your routine
I avoided creatine for many years I just assumed it plumped your muscles up with water. I didn't want to be a slave to a supplement just for that. I recently started taking creatine for the first time and holy sht its so much more. My strength increased significantly. I went from kind of shaking doing squats to a solid squat and with more weight.
Could also mention that when you stop taking creatine you will lose some water weight that you retained with the supplement including some water in your muscles. So even if you notice a little weight loss or looking slightly less muscular it's likely just you losing water and not lean muscle tissue.
Another Good Reason for me to cycle creatine is to build up Strength. Ultimately using creatine to build muscle and then lifting same weight without creatine

Interesting observations I have found with creatine at age 46. All the things she says is true. Recovery time is decreased, you heal faster, and your muscles will increase in volume due to hydration. There will be some water retention which will show in the face and your clothes may fit tighter. This goes away when you stop. The retention is part creatine part inflammation which happens post workout to support healing. Barring injury, This is why hot sauna is better than ice baths post workout. Here’s the kicker. I have used creatine twice in the last year for about a month each time. When I stopped I kept the weight on. Each time I used creatine I gained 7 pounds of water weight, which became muscle mass. It is like creatine opens up the flood gates for nutrients and blood flow to the muscle tissue. So, I gained 14 pounds in one year at height of 6ft at 183lb to 200lb. No other side effects. There is also the possibility of increase in cognitive attention. You will want to drink PLENTY of water, otherwise you’re wasting your time and potentially damaging your kidneys. I would mix 2 liters of water with creatine with ELMNT and excellent electrolyte mix which PROFOUNDLY affected my body pump due to my clean diet. ( I wasn’t getting enough sodium and would get light headed while standing from a seated position ) I went from feeling a fragile lower back to feeling normal for the first time in years. 2300mg per day is standard. You will feel it if you ingest too much sodium.
Stopped Kre-Alkalyn (buffered creatine) after a few years. Don’t remember why. Didn’t know to expect strength and size loss. Suffered emotionally because I had spent so much time building, eating and studying for hypertrophy only to go through this “deflating.” Didn’t look like I had put in *no* work after quitting, just wasn’t prepared for the difference I experienced. Don’t get me wrong here, the size/strength is nothing like gear gains but rather the kind of difference *you* notice because you look at yourself all the time. 😄 Was eventually able to make up the difference w/o the supplement. Just a heads up for anyone who decides to add or stop it. I am personally adding it again for the other health benefits that have nothing to do w/ gains.

It is the most researched supplement (Creatine Monohydrate). It also helps improve mental health as per studies. It is naturally there in Meat & Fish etc. so non vegetarians are anyway having it. Oh my goodness do I have some news for you! There is no studies being done on this at the moment as the pregnant population is rarely studied. I made a proposal to the NDA to do a study on this at my university and supplement pregnant women during the duration of their pregnancy and record whether it had good effects on the baby in utero. I was declined due to the “risks” the university thought would happen. Long story short I did a ton of research on it and in general creatine monohydrate would be safe for consumption in proper dosages during pregnancy after the first trimester based on predictions. However no one’s been permitted to complete a study because people don’t want to fund research for on pregnancy and any other supplements in fear of the risks that could occur. The simple answer is speak to your doctor. It seems completely unlikely that creatine will affect you or the baby negatively as creatine monohydrate is created by the body itself and is a necessary component of gestation. Just make sure you source responsibly and are extra careful about water intake :)
I’m doing it in 6 month cycles cause it causes such bad acne for me since it helps boost my testosterone by increasing DHT levels and I do semen retention so my test levels are insane being only 28
Are there studies on how many days or how frequently one needs to workout to take creatine everyday? Say you workout 1x/week, would you still take creatine everyday? Or do you take it more like a pre workout and only use it when u workout?
I stopped it for a time because I was having some symptoms I thought may have been side effects from it, I found after I couldn’t lift as heavy or as many reps as before so I slightly regressed. Now it’s been a few months and thru progressive overload I’m just about back to where I was. But I do plan on resuming the creatine bc the symptoms were unrelated.
I am a fan of your channel but that’s not what creatine does unfortunately, it binds a phosphate molecule and making ADP not ATP and the refeeds the molecule at a later stage to provide endurance.
It takes creatine time to get into the bloodstream so if you start working out with out it you can increase your endurance naturally and then you can use it in cycles when and if you can afford 😂 it or you want to go hard or harder
Just a word of advice. Sports nutrition isn't regulated. Creatine will cause your prostate to enlarge over time. That enlarged prostate can cause problems. Like feeling like you have to pee and you can't no matter how hard you push.
I don’t lift heavy weights…unfortunately I can’t go over 50 lbs due to permanent back issues. Do you recommend creatine for those that don’t lift heavy? I mainly walk (5x a week) and do strength with 10-25 lbs weights (2x a week)…
What about her high intense the interval training instead of the gym. Because that’s what I’ve been using it for and it’s helped a little bit. I must admit! Maybe it’s a placebo. Isn’t it just any type of high intensity training? I am genuinely curious.
Does anybody know if it's true that creatine may cause hair loss? I'm hesitant to start using it because I've made it well into my 30's with a full head of hair while my younger siblings both started losing hair in their 20's....I know the genetics from hair loss come from your mother's side of the family but my mom is adopted so that information is not available for me.

Hi, sorry side note… love your top! Where’s it from? 😅
No you actually just spontaneously combust, trust me
I’m doing it in 6 month cycles cause it causes such bad acne for me since it helps boost my testosterone by increasing DHT levels and I do semen retention so my test levels are insane being only 28
I stopped taking it because of digestive issues and fear of hair loss. But I think it does work
Tore my kidneys up
I stopped for a while and the only thing I noticed was my recovery was a tad slower
Do we know of any adverse effects of using it while taking type 2
diabetes medication?
Are there studies on how many days or how frequently one needs to workout to take creatine everyday? Say you workout 1x/week, would you still take creatine everyday? Or do you take it more like a pre workout and only use it when u workout?
Is it safe for our body to take creatine for 6 months straight?
Its just wrong.. creatine will increase increase inner cellular water retention. so stoping will lead to a lean tissue lose in most users.
What's your thoughts of new studies showing creatine has anti-aging benefits?
Do u have link?
I stopped it for a time because I was having some symptoms I thought may have been side effects from it, I found after I couldn’t lift as heavy or as many reps as before so I slightly regressed. Now it’s been a few months and thru progressive overload I’m just about back to where I was. But I do plan on resuming the creatine bc the symptoms were unrelated.
What creatine do you recommend?
So what happens when you stop getting Botox injections? Does your forehead continue to look like a prosthetic piece from a Mission Impossible movie?
There's major liver implications if not cycled...
What about kidney damage?
Should I stop for high blood pressure?
Will it give me more energy for reformer pilates? Or its only for lifting weights?
i always wondered 🥲 this is probably my sign to start taking it more consistently
Make sure its creatine monohydrate....☝️🙂
Is it harmful for the Kidneys?
I don’t know if I believe this. I know two people and when they stopped taking creatine, both of them got smaller in muscle mass
I am a fan of your channel but that’s not what creatine does unfortunately, it binds a phosphate molecule and making ADP not ATP and the refeeds the molecule at a later stage to provide endurance.
it binds phosphate to ADP which turns it into ATP (adenosine diphosphate gains a phosphate and becomes adenosine triphosphate)
How do they make it??? Anybody know?
Good stuff, great to see you on UA-cam again!
It takes creatine time to get into the bloodstream so if you start working out with out it you can increase your endurance naturally and then you can use it in cycles when and if you can afford 😂 it or you want to go hard or harder
Typo did not mean to include the laughing emoji 🤦🏿
Another reason might be trying to make weight for a completion, to temporarily stop
I always take creatine 5 hours after my workout. ....should I be taking it prior?
Just a word of advice. Sports nutrition isn't regulated. Creatine will cause your prostate to enlarge over time. That enlarged prostate can cause problems. Like feeling like you have to pee and you can't no matter how hard you push.
Huzzah, a problem I do not have to worry about as a woman!
I feel like that I was wondering
The benefits of creatine go beyond weight lifting. It's beneficial for everyone.
Creatine is great but at the time my body reacted weird to it. It affected my hormones and made my face break out. Great gains tho
And I know we already eat forms of creatine.
I made shore it wasn’t anything else and I did this 3 times
What about if you fast while taking creatine? I fast Monday thru Friday for a minimum of 12 hours....
So should creatine be taken before, during, or after workout?
Doesn't matter, it builds up in your body over a period of time, so the level isn't dependent on when you took it.
@@chrise2621 cool, thank you!
Study from 2004? Please, update.
ATP is only used during intense activity??
It elevates blood pressure, so if you already have high blood watch out .
It will damage your kidney in long term
Probably not. Some people don’t train heavy or hard enough for creatine to even be a factor. It’s not a magic pill.
I’ve always been scared to try it because I heard it causes hair loss
