Fun fact, herb cleaning used to be a herb identification mechanic. All herbs would be shown as "unidentified herb" until you identified it, then you would know what it was, this led to a lot of trade scams with herbs and the mechanic was changed to cleaning herbs, so you would know the name of the herb during a trade.
There was another problem with unids: people would shark newer players by buying unids for 1k each, since most of the time they didn't know the value of what they were trading. Eventually they caught on, and would start offering low tier garbage like guams and marrintils effectively sharking the trader back. It lead to a lot of toxicity so it was changed.
Really like your commitment to being spoiler free, makes the videos much more entertaining. Feel like I’d get way too impatient and start googling everything after a week.
I don't want to spoil too much but there's actually a trick you can use to help with coordinate clues that allows you to not need the sextant once you discover it. If you don't want to learn the trick you can avoid the hint by not clicking the Read More button. The coordinates are just that, coordinates. If you find the origin (center of the map) you can mark that down as 0.0 and then use that as a point of reference for each location. Note the distance between each tile and you'll be able to instantly read where on the map you need to go. For example one with high north and east coordinates will be at the top right of the map. Eventually it gets to the point where you'll just see the coordinate clue and instantly know "ah, north Karamja."
I'm not sure whether it should be said or not, so im going to be as vague as possible. Certain minigames are considered to be safe deaths for hardcore ironmen, where theyll not lose hardcore status from it. This is something pretty impossible to know from in game info i think so you may need to refer to the wiki to figure out if something is potentially safe
Wow, Jagex really need to change the dialogue for the hunter tutor. The stuff about staying hidden from the animals were never sucessfully implemented and was abandoned. The only thing that matters now is using the correct trap and (optinonally) bait.
Oh interesting, if there is outdated information we can use the video to remind them of out dated info. We've been lucky to catch a few other things aswell like a typo in the Kourend quest :o
I really like your take on new players especially not FULLY restricting themselves from the wiki. It's one thing to play without a guide and spoilers, but I promise there is going to be so many things in this game, you just can't figure out. Or you will spend weeks trying to figure out something that takes 30 seconds, and it will frustrate you and you'll want to quit.
How dare you tease us with a premiere. Cause now I know a video is coming but I have to wait. 😂 The herblore skill is the main thing keeping me from playing an iron man to be honest. 😅
I don't know if this is considered a spoiler, so I'll put in some spaces. But that hunter tutor gave you some incorrect info and you wouldn't know unless you looked it up. *****************************************************************************************Wearing clothes made from hunter creature fur doesn't actually improve your catch chance. They have other effects that you can discover.
I've been playing this game for 20 years, I'm max combat, and have my quest cape. But I don't have a fire cape 😂 I have it on Leagues, so maybe I'll try the real thing soon. If I can do DT2, I can do fight caves, right?
If you are max combat you can probably do fight caves naked with a rune crossbow tbh. It is a time suck, but it isn't really difficult unless you are going for it early on a very low level 1def pure.
@@rechtebanana I've never had a hardcore, but the wiki says it's safe for hardcore, just not group hardcore. "Unlike solo hardcore ironman mode, all PvM-related deaths are unsafe and will result in a loss of a life. This includes deaths inside minigames such as Chambers of Xeric and Fight Caves."
I know its the point of your playthrough mate but I think your relunctance to getting any sort of spoilers at all is starting to hinder your progress. Im finding myself less interested because of the slow progress of your series because you wanna be 100% guideless. Im speaking for myself as a runescape vet but the progress youve made so far is still extremely early game and Im starting to think that a goal like dragon slayer 2 is gonna take literal years to get to

bring back unids haha

Lmao I’m here screaming at my phone “JUST CLICK THE DAMN HERB! NOOOOO DONT GO BACK HUST CLICK IT!!!”
lmao that's how i felt when I was editting the episode haha

Watching you do clue scrolls without help definitely brings back memories!
You're a clever fella to hold onto some spare quest items just in case; I'd say you've got a natural brain for questing!

lmfao, the clue struggles were great. Absolute banger.

I was wondering why it worked when I used it, it's because they actually fixed this issue in RS3.
Great video, impressive clue!!
Oh, I knew this herb will be an issue the moment Jungle Potion was announced as the next quest last episode

the only spoiler i'll give regarding the fight caves challenge is that your hardcore status is not at risk for failing in there.

I blame Cuthbert for this premiere!
Getting a fire cape is a pretty big deal for a first time player. It is probably one of the most iconic items in OSRS for sure. Looking forward to it
Watching these episodes makes me question where I even learnt half this stuff in the first place.
This one is such an old classic lol

Don't forget the bucket of water!
you dont need more marks for the graceful recolour... you just need your graceful
This will be fun!
I wonder if the observatory is the 0 0? It would make sense, like the greenwitch observatory in england, unsure.

You for sure can! All the dt2 bosses are harder than jad
@guintar6661 Even Duke? I did Vardorvis on the first try and only died to Whisperer. I think I'm better than I give myself credit for 😅
The jojo's reference 😂😂
fight caves are a safe death. you wont lose gear if you die. you need your own supplies though so food and potions and whatnot.
Safe for hardcore status too
@@T_the_CI don't believe you

That's crazy though I wouldn't expect that.
I don't know about this old wise man you speak of, but I do know the wise old man can help you clear your bank
He doesnt do the best job, and will clear out items that DO have uses, like the bull roarer used in elite clues for example
@ I was mainly making a joke about his name :P but ya he has some uses but you have to be careful
no such thing as tele block outside pvp. Don't stress yourself out unnecessarily.
