The problem I had was the lights worked fine but randomly blew that fuse...and would continue to do so until you cycled the ignition! Then you could replace the fuse and everything would work again until the next bump and BAM blown fuse again...searched for 2 years for this problem and FINALLY YOUR VIDEO!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Mine is an 86' I've been doing a slow roll restoration on. This last couple days, I've been off for Christmas, and it's been 65° here in Tennessee. So I decided to pull the dash pad out, I've ordered a new one, in the process of that I discovered why my defrost was working to good, it's a duct work issue. So I went in on that. My instrument panel lights were only about 1/2 of them working. So I figured bulbs but when I pulled it out the bulbs were mostly good had a couple blown but not the main problem. Today in putting everything back to make it where I could drive around the farm some this week I find that I have, excluding dash, which is still in the back of the truck, all my lights work except tail lights, I've got head, brake, and turn signal lights, as I type this it's dawning on me I did not check to see if I had running lights. I was thinking maybe a ground somewhere. While my 86 is a little different it has a very similar looking box under the steering column I had no idea what it was. I'll check it in the morning... That was a good video dude. The trouble shooting run down there was money, very straightforward.... Edit: maybe this edit can be useful to someone as far as cross over info. This same ground wire was, as it turns out the issue with my 86'. To think I almost didn't watch your video when you said 91' because I thought that info on 73'-86' could be useful to me

Thank you, same bad ground connection I had (horn and running-parking lights weren't working)...just passed my inspection now. Definitely not a good ground design if all our trucks are having the same issue. Mine was an 1989 Sierra...had that same ground terminal behind connector.

I’ll have to try this on my 99 Tahoe. The headlights shut off on their own then turn back on after a few minutes and I’ve noticed the headlight switch get pretty hot. All other lights stay on with no issues.

I have the same truck. Everything works except for the brake lights. Are the break lights grounded at that ground location also?

ROOKIE QUESTION... so is the radio on a completely different system than all that?
Because someone hooked up a radio for me and been having problems since for the tail lights and stuff.

My 1993 Chevy Silverado's headlights won't come on. I already replaced the headlight switch & no change. All the fuses work. What else could I do to fix it?
