- In this video, we take a look at the Ubiquiti NanoStation AC and set a pair of these units up as a point to point (PTP) wireless bridge. A wireless bridge is used to broadcast a network connection over long distances. The NanoStation AC is capable of 450+ Mbps at a distance of 15Km - how will it test in my backyard?

Google search dropped me here and I was thoroughly impressed and pleased with the content! I'm researching product solutions for setting up a PtP bridge from my house to my workshop/remote office about 400 feet line-of-sight away. Your video was very helpful in getting me up to speed on the NanoStations. Thanks!
I want to express my deepest gratitude to you, for these excellent academies, you are a born teacher, thanks to your lessons and tutorials we have been able to put into operation several networks of cameras outside the main buildings.
Chris I love your channel, but there are a few things you goofed up in this video. I counted three times that you missed notices that there are firmware upgrades. 8.5.4 was released on 23 May and your units are using 8.4.2.
i love watching your programs they have really sharpened me into this ne field i just started this year
Just a thank you! Set up a bridge with these this morning. It went smoothly because of this video. A follow on video on tuning and power settings would be a great sequel.
Thanks Chris for this video.. It was around July when I installed a set of these for a friend Now doing the same for a church.. Thanks for this video. Mainly a video guy who does IT on the side.. Your help is well welcomed..
Love the trouble shooting part of the video. That is the common problems in real world wifi setup
I have installed both sides of a bridge using Loco to Loco in the attics of two buildings with a very loud signal and 250mbps throughput. I even have a subdivision of 40 homes and a 45' fiber fed tower with prism ac isos and half of the homes have litebeams in the attics with great signal, balanced chains, and plenty of throughput. Funny how some with a good line of sight can still have problems communicating while purposely putting one in the attic can work fine!
great vid ! I had to watch other 5 vids until I found yours to understand exactly the purpose of these nano stations.
How about much greater distance between the stations? Maybe their yelling is too loud?
The varying and low throughput speed indoors could be due to the signals being reflected by the walls and furniture and causing more disturbing signals than useful ones. The same distance outdoors could deliver more reliable results.
Excellent video, very clear.
Gracias por el aporte... un saludo
Thanks for the video, I just set up a pair 2m apart and I show the same performance numbers
You have to run iperf3 with the parallel stream option! Just choose 4 to 8 streams in the command line option. Try -P 4.
Hi Chris thanks for the awesome reviews! I have one question: Is it possible to add the nanostation to the Unifi Controller? Ive tried mca-cli but it returns -sh: mca-cli: not found
Hey Chris. In your other Nanostation videos you have the access point used to transmit the signal. If by chance (out in the field) the units were switched up (the receiver on the transmit side) would the connection still work effectively?
hi
Can we use this equipment for an speed dome camera and nvr ?
I bet your wife was like “how good is my husband, cleaning out the yard instead of playing with his IT equipment”
