Another outstanding video Richard! That image of the Milky Way over the boat shed is stupendous! You must have been tired that night. Doing some quick math, the total time your shutter was open for the images you used in this video was almost an hour plus the images you didn’t use plus getting set up, take down and filming for us! The Tasmanian Tourist Board owes you some rum balls at a minimum! Cheers!
What an amazing place to visit, and you ended up pulling out some amazing shots. I can't wait to see where else this trip takes you. I especially enjoyed the second to last image, with the scrub tree to the right and the galactic core right down the middle, absolutely brilliant. Keep up the amazing work.
Get home from a long week of work on a Friday night (here in the southeastern US) turn on the television and open the UA-cam app and a new Nightscape Images video is ready for my viewing pleasure …..life is good. 😬👍🏼
A happy day for me is a day you release a video. Every time I go do astrophotography, the results are better because of what you have taught. Thank you.
Hello Mr Richard, it is a spectacular video along with all its fantastic and beautiful catches, especially one that the milky way has airglow 😍 Thank you very much for sharing these beautiful landscapes.👍👍👍
Great you are back in Tassy Richard. Wonderful photos, we have some amazing scenery here so glad you are staying two weeks and looking forward to more great photography. Hope the weather is kind to you.
Fabulous Richard. I love watching your adventures, and listening to you explain what you are doing and then seeing the end result - just wonderful. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Wow, you'd have to be chuffed with those Richard! Tassie is just so stunning! Can't say I'm impressed to see the visitor centre emitting so much light in the middle of a bortle 1 wilderness area mind you 🤔.
Thanks as always for your kind words Dominic. Yes Tassie is so awesome for photography. I noticed the visitors centre lights were off when I went back to the car later so I assume they're on a timer.
Great work Richard you did well to create such amazing images in some not so ideal conditions. Cloud, wind, rain and cold can be quite a challenge at that location. Great channel. Inspirational content. Cheers.
Hi Richard, it's great to see you back again. As ever the content was terrific. Tasmania remands me of Scotland, very beautiful. The pictures were great but funnily, the one I liked most was from your camping place! I look forward to further instalments.
Excellent set of images Ricahrd and lvoe the colors on this one.. Good to have you back after a few weeks of absence for my Saturday morning viewings.. Look forward to all the videos from this series and hope you got some southern lights too

Wow, wow, wow. Such beautiful photography. You've given me such inspiration as I'm heading down there next month. If I can get just one photo with Cradle Mountain and the Milky Way I'll be happy
Some fantastic images. We were there just 1 week ago, unfortunately had to return home in Sydney due to a family illness. I’d love to do some astro at Cradle Mountain when we are able to get back there! Tasmania is a beautiful place to photograph. Love the vlog👍🏻
Stunning panoramic Milky way....my first impression was WOW... Appreciated your hard work. Access to this type of landscaping, really required lots of energy and planning... Still I have to learn more about the panoramic in the dark location...
Those Rotating Camera Brackets have become very popular with every Chinese camera gear manufacturer making them. I actually have one from your favorite brand Ulanzi.
You should work for the Tasmanian Tourist Board Richard. Your productions are top class. I must get there next year, usually too many tourists for us Tasmanians!
Haha, well I'm too old and not pretty enough for that I reckon Kim ..!!! Yes Cradle Mountain is a haven for tourists. There were a couple there during the night but I pretty much had the place to myself while I was there.
Amazing images, Richard. I love that you incorporated the clouds into your shots. Living in Michigan, that's something I often have to contend with. Next time you do an editing how-to video, it would be great if you talk about how you 1) plan for that in your shooting, and 2) approach editing so that you end up with a clean and pleasing image. I've played with it a little bit and incorporated some focus stacking, but my editing was after the fact, so it lacked the intentional forethought and planning for it, so that I had the right kind of images to work with as I edited. I'm looking forward to your next video from Tasmania.
Thanks so much for your kind comments Derek. Yes we do have to incorporate clouds on occasions but they do sometimes add greatly to the dynamics of an image.

What an exciting trip, I am very pleased you managed to get such great conditions at Cradle Mountain. I loved the Cradle Mountain/Boatshed pano it is fantastic Richard. I am rather envious and look forward to more of this trip. May I ask what the attachment is that allowed you to turn the camera from landscape to portrait mode without an L bracket? Wishing you all the best for the rest of your trip.
Beautiful images Richard!👌 Perhaps I missed it in the show notes, when you changed your camera position from horizontal to portrait how was it mounted to your tripod head that made it look so easy and fast?
Richard, I am really enjoying watching your recent journey around Tasmania. The effort you go to to share your process, including amazing successes…and failures…is incredible. Do you have a preference for either using the tracker or blending multiple shots? Does one approach tend to get better detail? Cheers, Kylie
Thanks so much for your great support Kylie. The tracker will give the best results hands down. Stacking lots of singles from a fixed tripod is also very good but not as good as tracking. The editing is a little more complex for tracking as well.
Ahhh that boatshed pano was absolutely beautiful. On the bucket list for sure. Thank you
