    This is one of the best dealers at this flea market. All rewrapped boxes are marked that they are rewrapped for protection. He gladly opens the wrap on any item you are interested in so you can look at the contents etc, it’s a great way to preserve these boxes from the dew and dust at the flea. Not to mention those kids and dopes that open boxes and let pieces fall out or get blown away highly recommend this dealer. Great stuff! All for shrink wrap when labeled correctly, and willing to open for inspection!

    Resealing items is a going thing. Being very educated in the flea market business saves you on pit falls. I started collecting at 12 years old and specialized in mechanical music, moving to early cast iron, art glass. And 50's mid century. Paid half my house off by educating myself and buying smartly. I have been buying and selling for over 40 years.

    The reason there is so many Sport Titles in games is because they out sell 5 to 1 all other games , collectors will generally collect all games , but because of the qty of Sports games sold the ratio means there will always be a glut of them for sale

    12:30 Vintage blown glass hand painted ornaments from around the 40’s and 50’s. My grandma had them kind. Those are antique. They can go for a pretty decent amount of money, like $30 a piece on eBay just for one single ornament, depending on the design and condition. Item lots or multiple full packages of the more delicate ornate shaped ones or the hand painted ones can be up to over $100 in price. 26:37 The thunderstorm scene from the movie Bambi is playing in the background.

    I love going to flea markets but I go to the same 2 all the time. I'm hoping to try to find the ones I should venture to by watching your videos. Looks like we are in the same general area. I specifically look for vintage Timex watches. BTW I think the trips of slides were for a Viewmaster Projector. It looked like a movie projector and showed the slide on the wall. We had one in the 60s

    The November show is smaller as far as number of vendors. Apr, memorial day, labor day weekend shows are typically the best.

  • @robdienzo3388
    @robdienzo3388 Рік тому +1

    Totally agree with you about the rewrapped item. In a time where "new in box" can fetch a much higher premium on an item, it's simply not kosher to misrepresent that product even if it wasn't the vendor's intent. I actually don't see why someone would do that in truth for that reason stated earlier.

    • @fleabittenadventures
      @fleabittenadventures  Рік тому

      Yes, like I said in the video, the person buying at the flea market may know it was resealed, but when that person goes and sells it, they may not disclose that it was resealed. Also, if it's re-sealed at the show, you can't even be sure that everything is in the box or what condition it's in. Overall not a good idea. Thanks for watching!

    • @fleabittenadventures
      @fleabittenadventures  Рік тому

      I'm not sure if you are joking around or being serious, but assuming you are serious, I can't know about everything. I've never heard of Kenner Give-A-Show slides before. I was born in the mid-70's, so maybe there were before my time. I've definitely heard of Aurora Monster models before, but I'm not really into model kits, so I can't really spot them unless they are in their original box. Thanks for watching though.

    Not an expert but I've learned that 99% of book club editions lack big resale value. A glance at EBAY under "Suess Horton Book Club 1940" should confirm this.

    • @marcsmirnoff936
      @marcsmirnoff936 Рік тому

      @@docholliday4546 As someone who tries to pay attention to books, I agree! Which is why I said 99%, rather than 100%, of Book Club editions don't have much resale value ("much" of course being subjective). And if I'm exaggerating by a percentage point or two, I apologize. I also think the exceptions to the rule do exist & can be interesting-and of value to resellers!-but that such exceptions do not refute or undermine the rules. P.S. I also looked up the 1940 Book Club edition of Horton to see if the general Book Club rule applied to it. In my opinion, it did. Peace to ya.
