@@philosophersstone2482 Totally agree! It’s weird to see her so mature. I still love her but I watched her over& over & over on that season. I didn’t remember anyone else’s storyline. Oops!
Melissa holds a sweet spot in my heart. She had some traits displayed on the show I definitely didn't like, but at her core she was passionate, SO funny, and stuck to her morals. And seeing how she's grown as a person makes me SO happy to see she has blossomed-- beautiful outside and inside.
After seeing the newest episode this week, I have so much more respect for both Melissa and David/Tokyo, but really more for Melissa. Her parents are amazing and it is such a dayum shame they never aired their original visit on that season. That's the most messed up part, especially considering how toxic Julie's parents' visit was.
Heather B said they did the same by omitting the scenes with her family visiting ... especially the loving relationship she had with her father (I think both her parents have since passed away). I'm glad Heather B called it out and said the show did a big disservice by not showing loving relationships within the Black family unit because Hollywood LOVES to push a false narrative and they took that joy from her. I think her bringing it up in the reunion is the ONLY reason why the producers are now showing unseen prior footage of Heather B and Melissa with their families.
Melissa is who kept me tuning in week after week. I loved her then & now. I was so sure she was going to be scooped up by Hollywood but I’m glad she protected herself.
Julie was annoying then & annoying AF now. Melissa was always my favorite!!!! I always wondered why she didn’t blow up after the show. She was hilarious to me. Now she’s still just so wise, she was back then too. I love her just as much now as then. She is so authentic. Always has been.
My review. Jaime, Matt and Kelley havent really changed much (which is cool they didnt really need to) They just became who they planned to be and seem happy Danny, Melissa and Tokyo have all changed a lot. They seem to have found the lives they wanted and made personal changes. Julie....still arogant and kinda cray. Hasnt changed (and should have) except instead of a virgin mormon her craziness is now coming thru a hippie Yoga teacher filter.
Julie is so messed up for what she did and then admits doing it to Danny but denies doing it to Melissa. Then that fake crying was so bad it had to been done to provoke and gaslight. Melissa is a cool person and it’s Julie’s loss
Do you mean after they became friends during the challenges? I miss that friendship, too. They should have a “RW Best Of” and bring together some of the most popular folks from the show. It would be cool to see Ruthie, Melissa, and Coral having a great time…or Eric, Cyrus, and Mike/Miz.
The NOLA season of 2000 was bar none my favorite season of all time, in my favorite city. Melissa was my favorite cast member. She exuded so much energy and zest for life. I love people with a lot of personality, and she has that in spades.
Melissa, so glad you figured out to let it go with that psychotic Julie. You and every other cast need to hold her to task for her insane behavior accusing Tokyo of false assault (vile) and violating Kelly's boundaries. Julie is a train wreck but I'm proud of cast, except J, for a wonderful reunion. I've ya girl.
I was so obsessed with Melissa. Her spirit was so fiery, cute, funny, and real. so neat to see her now. Still so beautiful and with those same qualities, evolved.
My favorites are Seattle, Boston, New Orleans, and San Francisco. I like the people on Hawaii but I didn’t like watching it haha, it was so depressing, like a big long-term intervention or something. Miami has gotta be my least favorite of the classics though, they don’t seem like friends, the business thing was a dumb idea, it was just bad energy.

As a black person do black Americans hear themselves, you sound very entitled, f u. Other races are just as important. Do u educate yourselves on 4 instance on other races and their experiences. We r not the only people that get discriminated against.
Melissa definitely was my favorite. Kelley parlayed her RW fame into marrying and having kids with Scott Wolf. I think we found out her true intentions. After watching the first episode i can see why... Julie is not ok. She did not develop any emotional intelligence after the show and its so sad. She still acts like a little emotional child. Its really hard to watch. I was hoping she would've grown into this mature, strong, religious free queen. Instead its as if her growth was stunted. I guess that religious upbringing really did take its toll
@@ndo533 this comment completely. I was rooting not only for their friendship, but also Julie as a person because I saw someone in season 9 who was so open to getting outside of everything she knew. Then on homecoming I saw the ways that Melissa and Danny had grown into themselves, but little to no growth on Julie's end. I think fame had a negative effect on all of them, but the effect on Julie strikes me as very dark and something she has not fully confronted, and maybe refuses to. its a shame, and you're right, the religious upbringing probably has a lot to do with it...but there are plenty of people who grew up in the mormon church who have since left and are well adjusted and kind.

I love Melissa but she set a really bad tone on that Challenge Battle of the Sexes by voting Julie out first. She made it personal and from that point on there was so much drama when it came time for the women to vote out teammates. She withheld information on why she was choosing Julie. Ultimately the men's team won like 80% of their challenges and the women's team looked like a joke.
