Stu is really coming into his own on here. less Barlow worship, really just sounding like his own self, while expanding what he can do. He's more then just a death growler/halford high guy with barlow copying. this is sounding great. filling in the missing spaces in his range here. he really is a hybrid vocalist.
So it is really Hansi. I was so stoned when I've heard the screaming part and then the backing vocals but I thought it was unlikely to be him. God his voice is unmistakable and I agree he's the best. And yess I just got into IE, didn't liked them much before and now I'm wondering how was that possible
YES!!! Iced Earth is one of my top favorite bands of all time, and it's great to hear a different formula, but still unmistakably Iced Earth! Stu is 100% the best man for them NOW, in this time period in the band's existence. (I hear a kind-of Demons And Wizards flavor here, which is awesome!) So Iced Earth is a win/win for me. Give me the same sound I know and love; or give me a kickass surprise! Long live Iced Earth!
PriestofGethsemane what the fuck does that mean? Did you listen to Live In Ancient Kourion? Stu sounds way more natural on these 2 new songs than he did on anything on Dystopia (which I like a lot). But as far as singing older Iced Earth song, with the exception of a fear, he just shouldnt.
***** Jesus. Everyone (99% of all online music fans) knows that youtube is the place where people come to find people saying good things, try and burst their bubbles, and to keep on like arguing Pokemon-card-collectors. It's been established gospel since the turn of the century. And yes. I'm a voice instructor, a musician of 23-years on stage and counting, and I did listen. I would be proud to have him fronting my music. Don't worry. I've had people on here "fucking my mother", calling my wife a whore, etc. You naysayers mean NOTHING.
Oh shit I _knew_ I recognized that scream! So now we've heard a new track that's heavy, dark, catchy, bombastic _and_ fast! This has truly been a wise pre-order investment. =D
I love Matt Barlow, he was perfect for the time he was with Iced Earth and Stu's great too. I'm a huge Iced Earth and Demons &Wizards fan. This sounds GREAT and I'm hoping to catch them in San Francisco in 2014!!!! Definitely getting this asap btw!
I love the intro, it has a very black metal feel to it :D Iced Earth really are back to their roots; this song sounds like something from Night of the Stormrider or Burnt Offerings :D
David Szalai Having fun listening to the new material of one of the first bands I liked in metal? That pretty much sums it up, yea. Espescially the "having fun" part. Being a black metal fan didn't amputate my sense of humour.
The way this song works its way towards 1:50 I find really impressive. Like it has more than one verse or more than one chorus I lack the talent to do that. I'm a drummer although I did study some theory.
There I am walking into a record store looking at 1st LP cover artwork on vinyl (slipped disc was the store /ny).. How can a young metal head not buy it ...liked everything since & this new stuff def has an old vibe to it .. Just as all the great bands trying do going back to the style that got them known
***** I doubt we'll ever see Matt back, especially after Iced Earth's management said he was retiring when he left, when in actual fact, according to Matt himself, that either Jon or management wanted to tour more. Matt's return was under the condition that they toured around his work schedule. I love Matt, but I love Stu just as much. I feel he sounds, for lack of a better word, a "hybrid" of Matt and Tim Owens, especially on Dystopia. Either way, I look forward to PoB, and meeting them again in May :)
"Worst thing to happen to Iced Earth" is harsh, my dear metal "fan". You don't even realize...haha I could BE Stu...or Jon (if my profile pic didn't suggest otherwise). I HATE people being negative on bands they claim to be fans of. I have been a huge Barlow fan since '96. And yet I say...Stu is incredible, and I accept him. Now doesn't make yesterday go away. And I dare say Iced showed up on your doorstep in person to play you a private concert, you'd be kissing his ass and asking him how he does what he does. The dude just lost his Mom for God's sake. Drop the negativity.
***** Yes. But that WAS harsh. But someone like me WILL retaliate. I hate (like I said) people raining on others obvious positive parades. And being a formerly successful metal musician...lets just say your opinion opens WIDELY when meeting the bands in person and TRYING to see what they are attempting, musically. You know...he now knows what was said, by the way. You NEVER know who you're talking to on here. Don't be clumsy, and continue to fly the metal flag high. Pokemon.
This is fucking rad! Sounds like it could belong on Horror Show (the movie theme could even be relative to Romero's classic film). I stopped listening around The Glorious Burden, but I think I'm gonna get back into these guys again...mad fucking props for this shit!
***** I've started listening again after hearing this record. Caught up and such. I actually (despite only enjoying about half of the Glorious Burden) really liked Framing Armageddon a lot. Part 2 was a bit lack-luster, especially for Barlow's return, but still a good record.
They need to do an official video of "the culling" on this album. Simply one of the most epic fuckin songs iced ever put out. Rest of album is decent, track one is better... but track three is absolutely, without question, just simply fucking godlike.
maybe heretiv but I have to ask: Is that Stu in the Creaming Parts? It soonds so much like Hansi ^.^ But anyway, it IS a great song! thank you for making me belive that Metal is not dead! Cheers Bro's :)
Idk about this. I love Iced Earth and all, but this will take some getting used to. Shit now I'm two albums behind, I need a better job so I can afford some cds.
Stu is a great vocalist. The problem is that Jon has lost his ability to write good riffs. Ultra-speed thrash picking was Iced Earths trademark an now this? Sounds like random boring american "modern heavy metal" band if you ask me, Call me whatever you like but I really wish that Horror Show would be their last album.
I never want to see an ad for Five Finger Death Punch before an Iced Earth video again.
Why?! They are good too!
+Jordan Kay Get out...
I like Lift Me Up, but that has a lot to do with Rob Halford providing vocals on that song. Yeah, I do not care for FFDP otherwise.
I like both bands, whats the problem?
They're one of the only good nu-metal bands. Their last album "F8" wasn't too bad but the one before that fucking blows
I don't hear Hansi Kürsch vocal except "o-o-o" screams at 2:30 and 4:50, but he's credited as guest lead vocal not backing vocals on this song...
Hidden well back in the mix, it sounds like.
Stu is really coming into his own on here. less Barlow worship, really just sounding like his own self, while expanding what he can do. He's more then just a death growler/halford high guy with barlow copying. this is sounding great. filling in the missing spaces in his range here. he really is a hybrid vocalist.
I will say Stu Adept the song that Barlow have sing
Hansi's voice is so fucking powerful. He's the best.
So it is really Hansi. I was so stoned when I've heard the screaming part and then the backing vocals but I thought it was unlikely to be him. God his voice is unmistakable and I agree he's the best. no thrash no heavy no power no speed no Doom it's the beauty of iced

I agreed with Stu being awesome until I listned to Live In Ancient Kourion. Now Im not sure if he might be the worst thing to happen to Iced Earth.
***** Worst thing to happen to old Iced Earth that is
*****
Haha! Congratulations for achieving the stereotyped youtuber-status! Keep the wheel rollin'!

The screams of Hansi (Blind Guardian) in this song are fucking brutal !!!!!!
I can hear some "Burnt Offerings" here + Screams of Hansi in 2:30 and 4:50 JUST UNBELIEVABLE! Shaffer should change his last name to Riffer!
Oh shit I _knew_ I recognized that scream! So now we've heard a new track that's heavy, dark, catchy, bombastic _and_ fast! This has truly been a wise pre-order investment. =D
OMG loved it! Iced Earth for life!
w,nai dike mouuuuuuuuuuuu
Dimitris Marvell Πάμε ρε μάγκες!Iced Earth και μόνοοοοοοο λέμεεεεεεε!!!45 μέρες ακόμα για να γίνει της πουτάνας στο Gagarin!!!!!!
The slide guitar work is a new trick for Iced Earth, yet it fits nicely! This is another badass tune!
cant stop listening the whole album, is just perfect
So excited to see these guys on tour with Sabaton this spring. My two favorite power metal bands together.
Iced Earth is not power metal. It was, maybe, when Ripper was the vocalist.
Dorobantu Mihai WHAT!?
@@dorobantumihai2408
How is Horror Show (not with Ripper) not power metal?
This is a surprisingly versatile band, haven't heard a single song from them I didn't enjoy.
I meant 2014! :)
oh yeah, whatta great track, Stu's vocals sound really amazing!
Amazing song, Iced Earth is the Best\m/ Everything is perfect from riffs to vocal and really cool lead guitar...
Very good mix of the newish Stu style and the Burnt Offerings/NotSR riffing. Like it so far
Saw the guys live on Monday here in Dublin, Ireland, & they were on fire, really looked to be enjoying themselves!
I love the intro, it has a very black metal feel to it :D Iced Earth really are back to their roots; this song sounds like something from Night of the Stormrider or Burnt Offerings :D
Seriously, if you're that stereotypical, then what the fuck are you doing in the comment section of an Iced Earth video?
David Szalai Having fun listening to the new material of one of the first bands I liked in metal? That pretty much sums it up, yea. Espescially the "having fun" part. Being a black metal fan didn't amputate my sense of humour.
Los vi en directo sin conocerlos demasiado y me "convencieron" para seguirlos
WOW! Powerful artwork, amazing instrumental sound and lyrics!
apla FANTASTIKO...! I love you guys :) You made my day again!
The way this song works its way towards 1:50 I find really impressive.
Like it has more than one verse or more than one chorus I lack the talent to do that.
I'm a drummer although I did study some theory.
Fuckin' AWESOME! Can't wait to see Iced fucking Earth live in February. Rock on!
i loved dracula and this is another awesome addition to the iced earth collection of creativity and uniqueness
I love how these guys always do concept albums.
This really has a Burnt Offerings vibe to it, but with a touch of Stu. This album is going to be really interesting!
This album has some of the best woah-screaming since Piece of Mind.
There I am walking into a record store looking at 1st LP cover artwork on vinyl (slipped disc was the store /ny).. How can a young metal head not buy it ...liked everything since & this new stuff def has an old vibe to it .. Just as all the great bands trying do going back to the style that got them known
touches of Night of the Stormrider/Burnt Offerings here...
Iced Earth forever !
While I love iced earth and their music I wish Matthew Barlow would come back to sing for them

WONDERFUL ! GREAT TRACK !!!!
I must be the only person that likes all of Iced Earth's singers. At least, it feels that way sometimes.
"Worst thing to happen to Iced Earth" is harsh, my dear metal "fan". You don't even realize...haha I could BE Stu...or Jon (if my profile pic didn't suggest otherwise). Gran banda los de iced earth espero verles en abril 28 st Petersburg fl yeah
I miss Barlow 😞!!
This song reminds of Jekyll & Hyde, especially some of the vocal lines.
+antoniusmetal the Five finger death punch song?
+Ross Maginnes
Iced Earth's Jekyll & Hyde :D
This is fucking rad! Sounds like it could belong on Horror Show (the movie theme could even be relative to Romero's classic film). I stopped listening around The Glorious Burden, but I think I'm gonna get back into these guys again...mad fucking props for this shit!
that's when I stopped listening as well. I totally recommend dystopia though, that's a fantastic album!

It soonds so much like Hansi ^.^
But anyway, it IS a great song! thank you for making me belive that Metal is not dead!

+Patrik Vogel yeah, didnt know at the time, awesome!!!
great song !!!
i was like is iced earth doing Death metal now ?! judging from the art it's way darker than before.
I brenden Zaichkoski love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Esto es música de verdad
this is so good
Also getting the instrumental Demons & Wizards vibe, while hearing Burnt Offerings in the vocals. Better than Plagues in my opinion.
Awesome!
why isnt that on itunes yet??? I NEED ICED EARTH NOW !!!!
Metalmoser still not on itunes
Stu block is the best singer Iced earth could aim for after the second departure of barlow.
Idk about this. I love Iced Earth and all, but this will take some getting used to. Shit now I'm two albums behind, I need a better job so I can afford some cds.
04.02.2014. - Belgrade,Serbia! \m/
Someone needs to do a music video of this song with cut footage from The Walking Dead.
Athens 31/1 we'll be there!
HELL YES
awesome song
I'm not sure if I like this... I love Iced Earth but this specific track just doesn't get me. Still waiting to listen to the whole album.
Sounds like they were trying to make a retro Iced Earth song with this one.
The guy at 0:51 has a fucking piano stuck in his face lol.
Ela kalo einai cameo kai apo hansi twn blind guardian epishs
Reminds me of Nevermore!
I like this song, but there's something off with the mix. idk what, but something just isn't right.

Song for the zombie Apocalypse
Rick grimes if he had a theme song
expected more..
Now we're fucking talking...
Thirteen people are lost and confused!
Stu is better than his vocals on this song. Still, great riffs, sounds like an old-school IE song, like something off Burnt Offerings.
I love Stu Block's voice, but this was a rather poor vocal performance from him.
I disagree.
this Hansi singing, from Blind Guardian
***** Hansi actually takes the lead for this song with Stu.
This is still the best song from the album.
Not bad :/
Hansi
Is it wrong when I say this song's mix is very horrid? I've heard demos will better production values.
WTF is with the snare drum?! Sounds like a TicTac box... And melodies are far from being easy... Just bought the album... Must get used to it.
Another unnecessary intro, rest is beautiful.
I don`t like the new singer. Matt Barlow or the Ripper were much better!!!
Gene Adam was the best
Just a personal opinion , i like better the way Adam sings
