Biggest problem I think these Jets teams have is that they built their whole season about just wanting to beat the Pats. Rex Ryan had this huge unhealthy obsession with beating Belichick and hey I'm a Patriots fan I'll say the Jets beat us fair and square it's gonna be dumb arguing back and forth about "oh the Pats cheated" or "the league is against the Pats". I still remember Rex Ryan saying "I'll pay someone to kick Belichick in the nuts" or something along those lines, if that isn't unhealthy obsession idk what is.
@Harry Engel The Jets r always in the wrong place at the wrong time. In 1982, Don Shula purposely left the field uncovered giving his Dullfins an unfair advantage. In 1998, the Jets had to play in Denver which had won the year before and was to be Elway's last season. Against the Colts they forgot to show up in the second half. Next year against the Steelers they forget to show up in the first half. You'd think they would have learned something about what it takes to win a championship game and JUST GET IT DONE!

You should have went deeper into that Jets/Giants game in 2011. Rex had bragged about how the Jets went to back-to-back AFC title games whole the Giants went nowhere, but on that day Eli Manning and company crushed the Jets, and as a result the Jets were bounced and forced to watch from home as the Giants went on to win the Super Bowl, bringing another Vince Lombardi trophy to the Big Apple. Plus is it a coincidence that the Jets acquired Tim Tebow just months after the Giants' victory parade? I feel they did because they desperately wanted to divert attention away from the Giants with the buzz of having Tebow on their roster despite never using him. And they destroyed Sanchez' career in the process. All because Rex Ryan couldn't back up what he said about not being the Giants' little brother.

Amare left, and everyone else was old. They had a normal life cycle for a contender and their window closed. Don't get me wrong, I'd 100% watch this video, but I think there are better candidates.
It's kind of fascinating how in both the late 90s/early 2000s and the late 00s/early 10s the Jets experienced a period of promise followed by massive failure. They even went to an AFC championship back in 1998...and got thrashed by John Elway.
That IK Enemkpali punch to Geno was actually pretty good for the Jets, cause it opened the gates for Ryan Fitzmagic do what he does best... play well for the whole season and choke in the last game, but still is the best Jets season of the last 5 years.
Only giants fan in a Jets house, and man that rollercoaster was tough to watch my family ride. But also sweet when the Giants made it all the way in ‘11! Rex Ryan’s personality was a great spark for that team but it also put them in some figurative holes when it didn’t pan out.
I've been a fan since 2006. The Rex Ryan, Mike Tannenbaum and Mark Sanchez were the best years to be a fan. Those two seasons were incredible. I knew when Edwards and Jones left the team it was downhill. The following season, bringing in Tebow was the worst decision for the franchise.
I forgot about Michael Vick on the Jets. I'm surprised there was no mention of Victor Cruz' breakout against them or the Giants beating Brady in SB 46.
As a huge Jets fan, they had no business in the 2010 playoffs. The two final regular season games against the Bengals and Colts were exhibition games as they had both already clinched and rested their starters.
I'd suggest doing the collapse of either: A) The Lakers post-Kobe's back-to-back 2009-10 titles B) The Suns Post-Steve Nash/Stoudamire/D'Antoni era of the mid 2000s Or C) The post-Elway era Denver Broncos
Could you do the St Louis Cardinals? They went from the one of the most dominant teams of 2000-2015 to just blah today. As a Cardinals fan I'd love to hear your take on what the organization has done in these intervening years.
TO think this was the last time the Jets had any kind of consistent success is crazy!!! I remember hating this team as a Bills fan knowing it was a house of cards....even though they still were so much better than our team at the time. I can't say I didn't love watching all my evaluations of Sanchez and Ryan come true.
Man painful to watch as a Jets fan. I'd point out that first Rex season we got lucky enough to face the Colts, who had already made it and were resting Peyton in our last game.
Redskins? Ok, once upon a time, Joe Gibbs retired, Norv Turner came on board from the Cowboys to sabotage, and then Bill Gates wannabe Dan Snyder happened
Just an added post script to the Gino Smith, broken jaw story: Ik Enemkpali, who broke Smith's jaw, was released by the Jets, and was picked up by the Bills. Ik then punched ANOTHER teammate on the Bills during practice and was eventually released by them. My dude had some serious anger issues.

💯
Niners after 2012 as well. Bad coaching hires plagued the team. Tomsula, Kelly, and now Shanahan.
@Quibol0 He is a bad coach, but I mentioned him primarily because he came after Chip Kelly, who came after Jim Tomsula, who came after Harbaugh! Also he blew a 28-3 lead and the 49ers hired him anyway!
@Jake Shattuck 😂😂
@Quibol0 we literally have no idea if Shanahan is a good coach or a bad coach yet. He's coached one team for one season and didn't have his starting QB or RB for any of it. Oh and they were the 29th healthiest team in the league last year according to football outsiders
Instead of getting another weapon for Sanchez to throw the ball to we traded for Tim Tebow 🤦🏾♂️
That was mystifying. WHO gives up draft picks for Tim Tebow!?!
@Poppa Jacks Was Tannenbaum the GM at that time?
Wouldn't have mattered, sanchez's accuracy was terrible. He would have just missed whatever weapon they got lmao
@@Drummafolife If it makes you feel any better, Tebow wasn't much better than Sanchez, either. Tebow was nothing more than a bible-thumping media circus.
This is a fun watch while Geno is having a resurgence in Seattle.
I remember I went to that Giants-Jets game in 2011. That was the game that made me a Giants Fan!!
A couple of ideas for collapse:
The Colin Kapernick- Jim Harbaugh 49ers 2011-2014
The Detroit Tigers 2006-2015
Urinating tree just made a video about tigers modern era of collapse
keep the videos coming .... please now more than ever...thank you all! NYC Teacher here... be safe everyone...
90’s Bills to their 17 year playoff drought. Do it.
this just reminded me of the fact the Chargers choked megahard in the 2009-10 playoffs
No Kelly
I love these videos when it’s so bad for the team you think it’s near the end and the episode is only half way over.
Before watching, I remember the teams Rex Ryan had for the jets before that infamous "Butt Fumble Game" the season after. I remember both of these seasons. Think about it? They beat Manning, Brady, and almost Rothlisburger. Those names are like the Mount Rushmore of QBs.
This is your best video so far, including all the other wonderful series... I loved the jokes, the passive-aggressiveness and all the bits from the narrator. You should make it an habit to narrate your videos with this method!
How the Phoenix Suns collapsed after making it to the conference finals in the 2009-10 season
Amare left, and everyone else was old. They had a normal life cycle for a contender and their window closed. Don't get me wrong, I'd 100% watch this video, but I think there are better candidates.
When Kobe eliminated them in 6 games in the 2010 WCF that was the last NBA Playoffs series involving the Suns to date!
@@joshwonkim0895 ......Until this year's NBA finals
It's kind of fascinating how in both the late 90s/early 2000s and the late 00s/early 10s the Jets experienced a period of promise followed by massive failure.
They even went to an AFC championship back in 1998...and got thrashed by John Elway.
Talk about the collapse of the Orlando Magic after they went to the finals in the 90s
Michael Hemmerle it what happens when mj comes back
Shaq left. The end
Basketball isn’t a man’s game, you mook..
That IK Enemkpali punch to Geno was actually pretty good for the Jets, cause it opened the gates for Ryan Fitzmagic do what he does best... play well for the whole season and choke in the last game, but still is the best Jets season of the last 5 years.
How did you not play the Bart Scott interview 😭 “CANT WAIT”
Damnit Imhoff you are one of the best comedian/sportswriters.
Words I never thought I would hear
“A game winning field goal by Nick Folk”
Only giants fan in a Jets house, and man that rollercoaster was tough to watch my family ride. But also sweet when the Giants made it all the way in ‘11! Rex Ryan’s personality was a great spark for that team but it also put them in some figurative holes when it didn’t pan out.
Gino Smith definitely redeemed himself he got the seahawks to the playoffs and had his best season ever as a pro
this make me sad as hell. thanks for a trip down memory lane SB!
I’m a Jets fan it hurts🥺
Loved this team. Had some great talent and great personalities. Best Hard Knocks hands down.
😂😂😂
For a 3/4 year span Patriots vs Jets was must watch football 🏈
This series is so much better than Rewinder.
On my death bed, if someone mentions the butt fumble, I'll leave this world with a good chuckle.
The two final regular season games against the Bengals and Colts were exhibition games as they had both already clinched and rested their starters.
with that said, however, they may win that title game against the colts if shonn greene and lito shepherd never go down..
I’mma ask for the Senators until you guys do them fyi. Great stuff as usual though :)
This is a pretty good video by the way. It’s very well put together & depending on the viewers love or hate of the franchise...laugh or cry.
Come on man. Last two episodes y'all talked about actual champions. The Jets didn't collapse, the Jets went Jets!
The imagery of Einzik throwing draft picks into a fiery pit while fans screaming into the abyss is classic! Lol!
Early 2010's was a great time for almost great New York Football
I'd suggest doing the collapse of either:
A) The Lakers post-Kobe's back-to-back 2009-10 titles
B) The Suns Post-Steve Nash/Stoudamire/D'Antoni era of the mid 2000s
Or C) The post-Elway era Denver Broncos
How about C.
Could you do the St Louis Cardinals? They went from the one of the most dominant teams of 2000-2015 to just blah today. As a Cardinals fan I'd love to hear your take on what the organization has done in these intervening years.
They shouldn't have. LOL... the speakers presentation and delivery is stellar. Keep it up.
“Mike Vick finished the game and pushed the losing streak to seven before starting the following week... and extending it to eight”
I’m gonna extend this comment to 8 likes.
I had a Greg McElroy Jersey! Everyone was cheering for him in that magical Cards game. Still remember the 7-6 score til this day.
Here's suggestions bills, raiders, broncos( post elway and manning eras), redskins, bengals, bears, 49ers, lions, titans, jaguars, dolphins, knicks, suns, lakers, mavericks, hawks, magic, timberwolves, hornets (including the bobcats)
The broncos have been bad for 2 seasons... that isn’t the same as the raiders being awful for the last 17 years
Redskins? Ok, once upon a time, Joe Gibbs retired, Norv Turner came on board from the Cowboys to sabotage, and then Bill Gates wannabe Dan Snyder happened
@Pumpin George guess you got nothing to say huh
Just an added post script to the Gino Smith, broken jaw story: Ik Enemkpali, who broke Smith's jaw, was released by the Jets, and was picked up by the Bills. Ik then punched ANOTHER teammate on the Bills during practice and was eventually released by them. My dude had some serious anger issues.
